54th street truly has something for everyone. This is one of the best chain restaurants in the area food wise in my opinion. I have to get the gringo dip every time I come. Their cocktails are really good and reasonably priced. As someone that loves espresso martinis, this one is pretty high up on my list! My very first time going to this restaurant, and it was absolutely amazing! I didn't get photos of the inside of the restaurant this time (as I was meeting friends for a business lunch). But it's a very cozy place. It reminds me of like a 90's TGI Fridays, or an Old Chicago (for those familiar). The staff was very friendly, professional, fast, and knowledgeable. They kept up with refills on drinks, and the food arrived very fast and fresh. The Gringo Queso was highly recommended by the staff and my friends. It's thus restaurants take on queso dip. White cheese, pico de gallo, and the waffle fries are perfectly seasoned! Now, if you're a Reuben fan, you KNOW, it can be difficult to find a good authentic one. But I will definitely say this one is awesome! The corned beef, sauerkraut, sauce and toasted bread go together perfectly! I'd highly recommend this place for a quick bite, place for a lunch/dinner meeting, date night, or weekend hangout. For those that partake in alcoholic beverages, they have a nice and spacious bar, and a nice drink list. Their menu is pretty extensive, and well organized. We had a small girls day gathering here, and we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the appetizer of the Shrooms without fully reading the description, the app is 4 large mushroom caps with a cream cheese mixture then breaded and fried. I was skeptical, but after the first bite I could have easily eaten all 4 (completely forgot to snag a picture because we were starving!). I ordered the country fried steak with Brussels sprouts, this dish was HUGE. I enjoyed it but I wish they placed the Brussels sprouts in a separate dish because they were swimming in gravy. The rest of the table got the fried fish tacos, smash burger, and a cheese-burger. The consensus of the table was that the portions were huge and the food was great! We stopped here passing through on a 10-hour road trip, hungry and tired, we checked yelp and this seemed like a great place for lunch. And yelp was right, it is! A kind of typical brewery/grill/chain bar, with lots of fun mismatched stuff around the ceilings and walls to look at, reproductions of old stuff, and a long menu with many options. Or waitress was friendly, explained the menu and some of the local favorites, and gave us time to consider it. Once we settled on a few things we were surprised at how quickly our food came out. Everything was tasty, the prices were fair, and the potions were generous. Typical of Southern and Midwestern hospitality we asked for cups to pour drinks into for the road, instead our waitress brought out large fresh drinks ready for the road. In the West this is not the norm at most restaurants. The menu had a selection of sauces as many restaurants do in this part of the country. Some charge extra to try each one, some just bring out what you ask for. I had sweet potato fries which were perfectly salty, crisp, and hot. I like to dip them in ranch dressing if it's the good restaurant kind and not a bottle grocery store version, it was great, I could have drank the stuff. I also tried their house sauce but found it too sweet for me. Kind of a mild and sweet BBQ flavor. All in all, this is a great place for lunch or dinner, a place to bring clients or vendors, or catch a meal after a game on the weekend. My go-to meal was Rattlesnake Pasta with a side of fried mozzarella sticks. It's unbelievable how that one meal has been such a staple of my life. When I was sick with kidney failure, I learned how to make it at home, and friends over the years have all told me how great it is! It took around 10 minutes from getting seated to have any attention from any service staff. Despite 4 different people passing by our table. We almost (and should have maybe) left without eating. Kitchen service then took awhile, even for a cherry limeade. Once we finally got our food it was blah.... Not bad, but lacking in flavor. And the proportions were off. Limited meat for our mixed fajitas (and lacking in fajita seasoning), plus the pico, cheese and lettuce had no flavor. We had ordered guacamole to substitute for the salsa, and it never came out with the order. Then the salad had way too much chicken and dressing to the greens. Usually I complain there's not enough protein on a salad like this. Overall NOT a good dining experience. Felt like a poor version of TGI Friday, Bennigan's or the like. Asparagus had too much pepper on it this time but is usually really good. Sandwich was ! Husband loved the French dip, said the Mac n cheese was just ok. My son ate almost ALL of his nuggets! My favorite thing here is definitely the fried mushroom appetizer without a doubt. This place has such a large menu that it is hard to decide on an entree. For the most part everything is above average bar food with nothing really standing out but the shrooms. The horseradish dipping sauce that comes with the mushrooms is also a stand out. read more

We came in at just the right time as a bunch of people came in right after us. The restaurant was packed and they said we would only be waiting about 10 minutes. We actually only way to about five and they got a seated right away. What to order: - tequila wrappers - chicken tender platter - flat iron steak The tequila wrappers are our go to appetizer for this restaurant. They are always so good and full of flavor highly recommend. The chicken tender platter we always get for our two kids to split because it comes with so much more food then the kids meal and you can get a double side of fries. The flat iron steak is always super juicy and tender we've had the sirloin from here before but always prefer the flat iron steak over that. Our server was Bailey. Bailey was slammed but still very accommodating and checked on us every time she was by our table. The only reason for the four-star review is because the bathrooms were absolutely horrible it seems like one of the toilets had flooded so the smell was atrocious my husband went to the other restroom and said it was the same thing so I'm not sure what happened but taking kids here and avoiding the bathroom is not easy lol read more

However the 1 star review is for the pure ignorance, incompetence, and overall rudeness of the manager we spoke with on Saturday afternoon. We had a party of 11. Possibly 13 people. We were told there was no way they could accommodate us at a large table. Their solution was 2 8top tables to accommodate us when there was space to join these tables together. Obviously this was not going to work and we were able to cut the table size down to 11 and magically they would make it work. If you have a big party just go ahead and go somewhere else. (We almost did) And if think you might have an issue. Go somewhere else as the management is not easy to work with. read more

My daughter and I will go to this establishment every once in awhile... in the nicest way possible, the food and service here is hit or miss. The servers are typically very nice but we've had a few not so great encounters. Being completely transparent, when we do go we usually just order the munchies (aka appetizers) and a side salad. My absolute favorite items on the menu are the chicken wings, and fried pickles (without their seasoning - it can be a bit much). The salads here are delish as well, I've tried both the House and Caesar salad. I was not impressed AT ALL with the Nachos. The beef tasted as if had been reheated multiple times over the course of a few days. Needless to say - the Nachos were left uneaten. The Tequila Wrappers were... just okay. That might be more of a personal preference, but I was not impressed with them either. I have ordered from the menu in the past, and was not impressed. I tried the Rattlesnake Pasta (sans shrimp - allergies ) and I also tried the Country Fried Top Sirloin Steak. It tasted better than the pasta but I've definitely had better elsewhere. I feel like they are adequately staffed so the service is promt and efficient! This 54th is hit or miss. ALWAYS a wait of at least 30 minutes. Tonight, we both ordered burgers with drinks. I ordered a Long Island (very watery!) and hubby ordered Red Sangria. His drink was "fine". Burgers arrived overcooked, dry and with cold fries. I'm a burger minimalist--mustard, pickle and grilled onions. No grilled onions. That was quickly rectified. Both the waitress and manager checked in on us. When I explained to manager that the fries were cold, he made it right. Manager immediately brought us each a piping hot baskets of fries. Gotta say I don't come here often but I had an exceptional experience tonight. Nothing fancy about the food solid appetizer and a half rack of ribs that were delicious. However the staff was so so so nice and everyone from the bartender who served me to the hostess that greeted me warmly on arrival and thanked on the way out was memorable. This is always a great go-to for me and my kiddos. I have been on a grilled chicken salad kick lately and figures I would try theirs. As many times as I come here, I have never had a bad meal. However their grilled chicken salad missed the mark for me. After I asked for some red onions, that helped a little. Other than that, per usual, the buffalo chicken bites, waffle fries with gringo dip and strawberry lemonade were 10/10. Think a step up from Applebee's, with the same general concept. Something decent for every taste, with no real specialty. We were a party of 6 with no reservations and waited about 10min for a table. We ordered 4 waters, 2 bar drinks, 6 meals & 1 app. That came to $110 total, including roughly a $21 tip. The drinks were good, a few had unique spins though I didn't pick up much of a kick. Shroom starter with horseradish sauce had large stuffed caps, quite good. While the sauce had very little horseradish flavor, it still paired well with the shrooms. My main meal was the carne asada tacos. It was, afterall, Cinco de Mayo. The meat was excellent, flavorful and tender- tho I found the deep fried shells odd and heavy. I found myself wanting a traditional shell. The house made refried beans were thin but flavorful- I enjoyed their spin. I skipped the rice as it's on my no-go list. I did taste it and it was standard for the dish, as expected. I'm going 4 stars for value, service and an overall good meal/experience. Other dishes at the table: soup and sandwich, pulled pork, chicken sandwich and 2 other taco dishes. Similar feedback on the tacos from another guest, loaded potato soup was a big hit, as was the pulled pork.
