Lunch specials traditionally run anywhere from $4 - $6 on average. Food is always fresh, hot and cooked to order and wait time is usually minimal. Great authentic Chinese food. Have been to this place multiple times and can't complain about much other than its very small. Store is located in a strip mall and has very limited seating. The atmosphere is gritty as the Asian lady that takes your order is very business like but I have seen her smile before. The food is arguably the best I've had for its type. The best Chinese food in Terre Haute for the money. Given there isn't really any outstanding Chinese joints in the area this one is the tops. Greasy, salty, delicious, all you could ask for from chinese take-out. Lots of Rose-Hulman kids like to eat here, because it's cheap and tasty. It's usually clean inside, there are little booths you can sit at. This is a great place to cure your hangover. There is usually a line during lunch on weekdays, but the service is fast. read more

I have been eating here since the early 90s. It is without a doubt the best bargain for lunch in the county. Big Portions, fresh cooked and priced right. They do not take credit cards, but pay cash it's fun. Not much on seating or ambience, but i want good food fast. and this is the place! This was my first time going there. My sister gets from there all the time and really likes it. I tried one of her Shrimp toast and it was good. So I decided to get take out. When I went in to order, the lady was NOT friendly at all. When my sisters boyfriend order her food last time, he had called the shrimp toast, oriental toast, I was there when he ordered it over the phone and all the person said taking the order was how many. So when I went in to order mine, the first thing I ordered was "oriental toast". I was quickly told..."We no have toast". Confused knowing he had called it that I tried to explain to her what I wanted. What I got WAS not what I wanted. I later found out from my sister it was called shrimp toast, but why did the rather rude lady taking my order not tell me that, she just said they didn't have toast. Any way, I will NEVER go back. An not just because of the order mix up, that happens. But the food made both me and my brother sick. He had gotten the general Tso's which he said was nothing more then a honey chicken and not a very good one. I had gotten the fried shrimp & rice. I had only eaten less then half and was sick to my stomach. I really don't see how they are so busy all the time, the food was NOT good. Even if it had not made us sick, I would not go back. Thought I would give another Haute Chinese place a chance. Didn't realize it at first but this place is cash only in 2018.. I ordered Chicken & Broccoli. I opened the container and there was no sauce or seasoning just literally cooked chicken and broccoli. It was not bad but was expecting something with flavor. Service was nice. Dining area is limited and so are beverages. A little pricy for what I got. Probably would not return but don't let that stop you from trying something new. read more

lady that took order over phone was very friendly. when i arrived there was little to no wait. indeed, they only take cash! i ordered dinner size kung pao chicken. there may have been some confusion...i thought i was ordering meal (with fried rice & egg roll). instead, i received white rice & no egg roll. it didn't matter because i couldn't even eat the meal...and i tried! there was a lot...and for only $8 something. i read previous reviews prior to this, including complaints about the size for the $5. my recommendation is to pay $3 more and get more than you can handle! read more

Lots of good, greasy food for very little money. The service is usually prompt, but the biggest downside is that they only accept cash. They're usually really busy so there isn't always enough seating. I've never gone here without running into at least one other Rose-Hulman student; it's definitely a college hangout. read more

Great dumplings, yummy rangoon, tasty chinese take out "staples", but my favorite is the Hunan style Tofu. There are much better choices for Chinese food in this town. I have eaten at First Wok several times usually because a friend wanted to. The place just never seems as clean as it should be and the food is average at best. The pre-cooked egg rolls they reheat when you order are probably the worst I have had.
