I was referred here after having a herniated disc confirmed with MRI at my L5-S1 that was worsened after a car crash Oct 2025. It was originally herniated & diagnosed 12+ years ago when I got out of the army infantry. I took no pain medicine and have been living with it in those 12 years. October 2025 I had the crash & it hurt more, mainly at work on long 16 hour double shifts. I do private security so I am on my feet a lot. The 1st visit was pretty normal, I received 28 pills of a mild opioid to last me 42 days(not a problem) Even though it says on the bottle to take one every 6 hours for pain. The 2nd visit he gave me the same 28 pills to last me 56 days or 2 months(Definitely not enough however I did not complain or comment) My main problem was during this visit he said "Make sure you're not giving them to anybody else & put them someplace safe and put them away". I found that to be pretty weird and actually offensive, I have no criminal history, a perfect driving record, honorable discharge from the army & definitely no history of addiction and an MRI that shows my herniated disc.... My final & 3rd appointment I had just worked a 20 hour shift, 16 at my full time & 4 at my part time, I went there straight from work & did not sleep, I should have called out looking back During this time he told me I Needed to submit a urinalysis or he could not prescribe me opioid pain relievers anymore ever again. I don't mind intrusive, random drug tests to appease Dr. Heller & his CDC regime HOWEVER I explained to him I had about a 3 hour window to sleep before working a regular 8 shift & would not be sitting around there drinking water and waiting to pee, as sleep was way more important than receiving pain pills that day. I asked to make an appointment later on in the week or next week when I don't work. He said if I left today, he could no longer prescribe me pain medicine ever again. I understand he has strict CDC guidelines but It is really more so about his unprofessional comments and how he treats pain management patients.

I came back for a follow up and told them I had a bill for a co-pay sent to my house . They apologized and said that they didn't have the second insurance on their file so I figured it was an innocent mistake.. I gave them the insurance again and they scanned it in a second time. News to me a month later I get another bill saying that I still owe a $50 co-pay. I called them back and they had both insurances on file. However, the billing department in Florida did not have a copy of the second insurance so they forwarded it to them ... or so I was told. Next thing you know I'm getting late payments on file called no less than three times and was assured that it would be taken care of. I continue to get late payments in the mail . So I took off a day of work and physically went down to Ortho Virginia and to show them both of my insurances physically in person and told them for the sixth time that I continue to get bills in the mail . They assured me they would take care of it... I guess they never took care of it. Fast forward to today.... I get a collection agency in the mail for a bill of $50. I went online and paid it and I'm done with these folks. Their billing department will be the demise of this organization.

I went back to him every 2 to 3 months for that year explaining to him that I was diligent with my physical therapy and taking the medication he told me to take, and yet the hip wasn't getting any better. But He continued to insist it was ongoing inflammation for over a year. Since he wasn't willing to consider what else it might be or offer any other solutions to help me, I went out and got a second opinion. So I saw another surgeon, and after he operated on me, he determined that I had extensive scarring inside my hip binding the hip flexor muscles to the hip capsule. After he removed all the scar tissue from my hip, it was much better and pain free. Dr. Wolff refused to consider that anything else may be going on, and so he wasn't able to help me. While a nice man, I found that he was rushed during our appointments and he wasn't always in the moment. So I don't feel he was always listening to what I had to say. Regardless, him continuing to insist my pain was due to inflammation for an entire year wasn't really him thinking about what else the problem might be or to consider other solutions.

I was prepared with this entire explanation of how low/no impact excercise simply wasn't an option for me, and i didn't even need it. Apparently, excercise (in my case) actually HELPS with my loose ligaments, wouldn't you know, building the muscles around the areas which support those ligaments is actually better than complete neglect? I have to go back to him to get a Doctor's note to get an ergonomic keyboard and mouse for work (to match my pocket protector and horned rim glasses), and am glad to do so. Also, the location is right around many other doctors as well as the PW hospital, so depending on what you need, it's possible to knock out a few doctors appointments in one day (particularly if you don't work anywhere near manassas and driving out there to go to the doctor is a pain).

I have been woefully remiss in a review of this awesome Doctor who I first started using back in…read more2018 when I was referred by my primary Ortho Virginia Doctor to help fix a Bakers Cyst and very recently for a PRP to my shoulder, hoping to avoid surgery. Dr Antonis describes himself as "registered diagnostic medical sonographer with a special interest in ultrasound point-of-care exams and ultrasound-guided procedures, including platelet-rich plasma and newer orthobiologic agents, to augment healing" and he has become my go to Doctor for issues that are out of the scope of my regular Orthopedic surgeon . Back in 2018 I could not run or walk and Dr Antonis fixed my issues taking care to show me the issue using ultrasound and then on the dates of procedure took great care using needles to get the fluid out. I am back jogging. So, when my MRI recently came back with arthritis and a tear in my shoulder, it was a choice between surgery or visiting Dr Antonis who I immediately requested take a look and when I did, he thought (as my own primary care doctor did) that this procedure could help with pain relief. Before the procedure, one of his staff Amy O'Masta ,a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer and a critical resource to me, sat down and took the time to explain the process, procedure very patiently and once the procedure is agreed upon (remember Dr Antonis has to agree the procedure is beneficial) Amy is so very helpful with follow-up questions and procedures. As a certified trainer she was invaluable to coordinating with my PT folks providing both the necessary paperwork, prescriptions to take before and after and explaining what the patient should be doing. From week to days, you are left with clear instructions. On the day of the procedure, I had also arranged for my wife to be checked for the opposite shoulder and we both showed up to their new really nice office around the corner from the old. Parking is provided and the office was easy to locate. On check-in, it was easy and since I had to be hydrated, the front office staff provided water. When we both were brought in, my wife wentt first and Dr Antonis was able to visually able to show her what was going on and gave her some alternatives (like me) to surgery. My wife, who hates medicine of any kind, felt very reassured by Dr Antonis and opted to take a cortisone shot for relief. She did not feel pressured in any way (to the contrary). While this was going on, my blood was being drawn by a nurse (really nice) Before my procedure Amy again explained in great detail and showed me visually what was about to happen. On the procedure itself, while I was really nervous, Dr Antonis took great care and time (even turning on music from the 70s) explaining every step of the procedure in real time. Having him continually speaking, and letting me know what I was about to feel was really helpful finishing this procedure. He was assisted by Meghan who was great. After the procedure Dr Antonis again ensured I was comfortable and started exercising my hand to keep blood flowing. He really is an outstanding Doctor. Amy then took over and as a certified trainer, showed me the exercises I should be following both at home and at PT. She took her time and ensured we had all the information we needed before leaving. I follow-up in 4 weeks and hope this procedure will help me avoid surgery. A big thank you to Dr Antonis, Meghan and especially Amy (big kudos). If you have any sports issues or ones I mentioned above, I highly recommend seeing Dr Antonis for a second opinion and to perform the procedure if you qualify. He is outstanding and one of a very few Doctors who shows such empathy with his patients.

I made an appointment with Dr. Antonis at OrthoVirginia's McClean Office. After a long drive to my appointment I was told it was canceled because Dr Antonis does do backs anymore and that they had called me on 6/1. I was able to show the front desk on my phone there were no incoming calls that day and I hadn't heard from anyone at any other point. So they were pretty disorganized. While the receptionist tried to find another doctor, her back office provided a quick no. I would have liked to have known they really tried but it didn't seem like it. Overall it was to very disappointing experience as their office comes crossed as being disorganized in that they didn't 1.) let people know of the change with Dr Antonis, 2.) inform me at all (email and text and call please or at least for 2 of 3 so you have back up measures), and 3.) seem too interested in helping or remedying my situation, despite their mistake. The front desk receptionist was cordial and did make an attempt for me so that was a good experience. But she clearly was shut down pretty quickly by the back office, which made things worse.
