Despite husband's Immobility and frailness, David managed to get him in the wheelchair and delivered him to the home. Great service! But on the return, another younger driver refused to help my husband to get back in bed from the wheelchair so he sat in it for an hour before his nurse arrived. They just 'dumped' him in the living room and also had a hard time getting the wheelchair up one step into the home. I understand the liability issues but their website gives the impression they will help with patients with mobility issues.

Initially, I had decided against using Heart of Texas as they just looked "too small" - for example, I couldn't find a website for them (this was in early 2016, maybe that has changed). I decided to go with a larger "professional services" company as I thought that would be a safer decision - but that turned out badly for us. I gave Scott a second chance as he just seemed so very understanding and likable. I will forever be grateful to Scott and his staff. And I mean forever. Despite being a "small" company, Scott delivered for us. During a sudden time of crisis, Scott and his team were able to provide 24-hours a day care for our family with literally 4 hours notice. His team (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) were gifts from God. Compassionate, kind, capable, professional, reliable - I could say more nice things, but you get the idea. It did not look like they showered her at all and she was very quiet. I was not given regular updates on her, I had to reach our on my own and request them. I have had a much better experience with Visiting Angels and they are at a cheaper rate . $25 an hour is high for poor service and no daily update. I will not use them or recommend ComforCare.

I found Care Renewed online and the reviews were all excellent so I called and Fritzi was in our kitchen in 2 hours to discuss care and had a caregiver for us the same evening. I finally had a good night sleep! The team that worked around the clock to take care of my grandmother was so warm, lovable and competent. I spent many hours there with them. They took care of everything in her home from laundry, cleaning, bathing to just hanging out and listening to her stories. It's nice to be comfortable with caregivers when they start out strangers and now feel like family. We had a previous experience with a home health company so I was reluctant to hire another. The former sent an aide that was sick and asleep when I stopped by. We reported this incident immediately to HC. Alice, the owner contacted me and asked me to pay for the medical check using our homeowners policy. Are you kidding me, this was completely inappropriate - as they inspected our property before coming out and we were not the caregivers employer. We were losing our father and we were in no way financially responsible for this incident nor could we handle this kind of issue while facing the death of our father. I would definitely not recommend this company. I have been a healthcare administrator for over 30 years - and knew the procedures for employee incidents. Then our second attempt we were told that it took too long and too much effort to get caregivers for me and that because we had canceled at the last minute even though we paid the fee that was a huge inconvenience.
