2021 to 2022 Pandemic... I called many companies. Everyone was very busy. First: An incorrectly installed water filter (CustomPure) leaked for two months and destroyed my kitchen cabinet before it was discovered. I called Fischer and made an appointment for two weeks away, the earliest possible availability. When the time came they did not show up, they did not call to tell me they were not coming, and when I called them they said a bigger job had come in. Terrible service! Second: I thought maybe it was circumstantial and I would give them another chance. At the end of my project I needed someone to repair the drywall. I spoke with Christian Barette who said he could fit me into the schedule in January. I waited through the holidays, and called every week in January to find out when someone would be coming. I had a water leakage and caused mold growing in one of my bathroom and my HOA calls Fischer to come in to fix it. At the beginning they are giving a acceptable quote so I approve their work. However, when the work starts things are get out of control. At first they told me that there might be mold behind the bath tub and they need to cut the bathtub out so they can check. But that means I need to replace my bath tub. They guy here said he's really sure there will be mold behind the bath tub so I let them do that. However, after they cut it out, there is no mold behind the bath tub at all! After they reinstall the dry wall and install the toilet back, they told me that toilet is broken, the reason is because that the toilet is left for dry for a while and the wax is broken! This is because previously they promise the project is about a week long but ends up it took 1.5 month to finish it! Then their manager David promise he will send a plumber to fix this issue. But when the plumber comes here, he immediately told me that the toilet is no longer fixable because the issue, and he has to replace it. So I have replace the toilet as well. At the final walk through, I noticed that there are other issue they didn't fixed at all. There is a 1.5 inch gap between bath tub and the tile and they didn't do the trim for most area. David said he will send some people back to fix this. When the contractors comes, they spend an hour doing nothing because they need to go to home depot to buy things, and this is still charging! Fischer Restoration and Remodeling - Very irresponsible and dangerous driver - Damage Restoration Near Me - Mountlake Terrace, Washington

I purchased a Seattle condo in October 2017, and in November 2017 the condo flooded because of a broken pipe inside the wall. The HOA of my building contracted Fischer Restoration to perform the water restoration: David was the lead of the Fischer team who did the onsite work. After two days of punching holes in the affected walls and drying up the place with large dryers, David found that there was additional pre-existing water damage in a different part of the condo, completely unrelated to the broken pipe. It turned out that the previous owners of the condo had concealed this additional water damage, and that the broken pipe was effectively a blessing in disguise, because without it, Fischer wouldn't have detected the pre-existing damage. David kept the dryers running for another week or so to repair the additional damage. In the end, 25% of the overall damage was due to the busted pipe, and 75% to the pre-existing flood. So far, so good... Next, the troubles started: David issued an invoice where he listed the broken pipe in the wall as the sole "source of loss" for the flooding. Initially, I was puzzled, because David had told me several times, while fixing the damage, that the two separate floods were completely unrelated. I called Fischer and spoke with Kristi, their office manager, asking that Fischer correct their invoice. Kristi assured me that if I put my concern in writing, she would look into the matter with David. I emailed a detailed account of my concern, again asking Fischer to correct the incorrect invoice with a truthful source of the damage. It's been more than a month now, and Fischer has refused to make the corrections. I am not going to speculate as to why - I just know that their actions have come across as unprofessional and untruthful. I can't recommend this company to others, and I wouldn't retain their services in the future, if it were my choice. Nick. ps: I don't have proof for this next bit, therefore, I have kept it out of the main body of the review, but it's something worth mentioning. While Fischer was restoring the water damage, the water main in my condo was shut down. One evening, coming back to check on the progress of the restoration, I was appalled to find out that someone had used one of my toilets (thankfully not for number 2), while the water supply in the condo was shut off. I confronted David's team about it, but of course they denied it was them. That evening, I bought a gallon of bottled water and dishwasher pods from a grocery store across the street, to flush the toilet and deal with the stench, as best as I could. This has been the go-to company for my high rise for years. They are at their best showing up ASAP to do preventative work, so make use of that 24 hour line! I have not heard of any insurance resistance to their work- it seems to be generally considered an investment in minimizing long term costs. They have a nice way of pulling off baseboards and drilling the air holes behind so as to minimize drywall patching later. Employees I have interacted with have been calm, present and experienced. read more

Simply Fantastic. I had a water leak and an agressive HOA president breathing down my neck. Les came in, addressed the water damage and diffused the interpersonal tension that had been building. The quality of the work, the ability to understand a complicated situation and handle it successfully is unprescedented with this type of project in my experience. I can't begin to write and tell you how angry and disappointed I am with this company. When my unit along with a few other units was hit with water damage back at the end of December it was a pretty decent amount of damage. At first things, we're great Roberto did an amazing job in getting there and doing as much as he did. And then not too long the damage assessment person came in. After that is when the wheels started falling off the wagon. It took a couple of weeks for negotiations with insurance and then they got started, moved decently well and then by mid-late April is pretty much when they took a break from most of our units and did small things here and there. By the way, I loved how many times they said this would be done by this date or that date (I think we're on 4 or 5 due dates now), and every time I came and nope just kidding still not done. It's now June, 6 months since the initial damage and they said that they would be done by end of this week or early next. Well, it's kind of hard when I have come to see the place the last few days and nothing has been done. So my advice don't hire these clowns. I don't know when this place will be done but it's not happening anytime soon. read more

David was our project manager. He and his team did a horrendous job. Our condo had an in-wall water leaks so our HOA hired Fischer Restoration. As they got to work, they realized the leak had spread to the hallway and kitchen flooring so everything had to be removed. What was once a one week job turned to a one month job which we were fine with because we realized that the amount of work would require that time frame. However, a 1 month job turned to a 1.5 month job, which two to a 2 month job, which turned a 2.5 month job, which turned to a 3 MONTH JOB. David apologized and made excuses every step of the way. There were two times that he said "my crew called in sick earlier in the week, but they are in there working hard today". I worked nearby so stopped by on both occasions and on both occasions there was nobody there working. David also asked us to move all of our furniture from the deck inside so that "there wouldn't be sawdust from the cutting that may hurt our newborns lungs when we moved back in". Our condo was very small and moving this furniture inside with everything else was like building a puzzle and took a long time, but a necessary task to keep our young daughter safe. David and his Crew STILL CUT THE FLOORBOARDS INSIDE!! There was sawdust EVERYWHERE!!! David then said he would hire a maid service free of charge to clean the condo prior to us moving in. Finally, after 3 months, David sent us the paperwork to sign off on the renovation so he could get paid. When we went to the condo we were shocked. There was trim missing paint, trim missing altogether on a 4 inch strip, nails sticking out of the trim on the side of the stove with the wood split in multiple areas, the faucet wasn't screwed in, the molding wasn't long enough in an area so they grouted a 2 inch space and painted the grout, the door trim was diagonally set, the list goes on... I said I wasn't going to sign the paper work until he came back and fixed the issue. He said he wouldn't pay for the cleaning service or additional carpet that they set if we made them come back (in total, these costs were around $400). The additional repairs needed on the condo were significantly worse than $400 but let's be realistic here... If it took them 3 months to renovate half of a 596 sqft condo, what are the chances they would hastily fix that horrible renovation? I signed off on the paperwork.. And of course, the maid service was never paid for and never came. The service with David and this company makes me sick. Luckily, my mother lives in the area and let us live at her place for 3 months. If it weren't for her generosity and not piling up monetary damages because of it, I would have FOR SURE taken this company to court for reimbursement for damages incurred. read more

Driver came out, apologized, admitted fault but now telling insurance he is not responsible..would not do business with dishonest company. Fischer repaired our bathroom after we had water damage. The project took over 7 months and billing was painful, but in the end we feel like we got a fair deal. The people who did the actual construction work on the house were skilled and friendly. The only work that was sub-pair was the tile work that was subcontracted to Great Floors (different issue). In the end, I'm a pretty happy customer. Only wish it didn't have to take so long. read more

We used Fischer restoration to restore water damage to our condo twice now and they were great both the times. Les came in with his team both the times and did a fabulous job. John, who came in with him was very quick and agile. Les always kept me updated on the status, kept his time and was accomodative of my requests. Water restoration usually takes a few days of work and I felt very comfortable with Les and John working in our home for days . I was fine with leaving them home while I ran some errands. I have worked with Fischer plumbing and I thought they were way too expensive but Fischer restoration seems to bill in accordance with market/insurance norms and I would definitely recommend them. read more

We had two water leaks in our condo building in a unit above ours in the matter of two weeks. The Fischer Restoration crew did amazing work following both incidents. We were very impressed by the efficiency, respect for our belongings, cleanliness, and communication of the Fischer team. During both visits the team - led by Corban - gave us thorough updates on the water damage, work to be done, estimation on drying times, and when his crews would be onsite to assess damages/update progress. They were extremely helpful and put us at ease in the midst of a bad situation. I had my drain pipe back up that caused some water damage. My HOA contacted Fischer for the restoration work and they sent in Les. He and his buddy on site were skilled and very systematic. They were extremely thorough and they took their time to make sure they inspected everything that could have possibly been impacted. Les gave me constant updates as to what was going on, answering all my (silly) questions very patiently. Les also was nice enough to share the pictures he'd taken throughout the process for the purpose of my insurance claim. I am so grateful that the Fischer team was available to respond when I had a massive flood in my condo -- their knowledgable efficient work greatly mitigated the damage. Even though it was a holiday weekend, Jason came out the night of the event & Les joined him the next day and their early intervention made a major difference. The place was dried out in three days (which seemed remarkable given the volume of water!) and they saved ceilings, walls, appliances that might all have been totally lost. Their great experience was readily apparent, their customer service and communication exceptional. They explained things well, were thorough and systematic in their approach, and understood what documentation the insurance company was going to need. Fischer Restoration is the only restoration to go to in any emergency. We experienced within the span of 1.5 years two absolute sewage plumbing nightmares in our rental house. Both times Fisher Restoration, special Thanks to Tom, for working through the night time all hours of the morning to make our living areas safe and sanitary. We have 3 kids and a large part of the lowest level of the house was covered in 4 inch of sewage, not the good kind, if there is any . My faith in Tom's ability and equipment is 1000%. He was also there for the emotional support of losing so many personal items due to bio contamination. He completed demolition and sanitation by working through the night. He was then back the next morning with his buddies Corbin and David, who then helped to finish final pressure washing, and shampooing the remaining carpet which didn't need to be cut out as it wasn't directly contaminated, but wanted to ensure we felt 100% confidence for our kids to return to their rooms in case of any cross contamination by the plumbers walking on that portion of the carpet. Btw, our rental agent used Fischer Plumbing the first incident and I wish they would have been the folks to come back out again, but as renters we didn't have control over that decision. Although I am so thankful beyond words that Tom and his crew were sent back out again. Thanks again Tom, Corbin and David. I wouldn't feel safe continuing to live in this house with our children if it wasn't for you guys. Prompt, respectful, empathetic, and diligent.
