It's called fishing not catching and sometimes you hit and sometimes the fish ain't hungry. Today was absolutely one of the best trips if not the best ever. We have had some amazing trips but captain mark, 2nd captain Alex and deck hand Brandon got us everything. Limits of yellow tail in the morning, limits of dorado by noon and capped it off with yellow fin tuna. I took my son and daughter on a late season tuna fishing charter, as a graduation/ birthday gift for my son. He said all he wanted was a good time and sore arms. Fish hunter Charters delivered both. We caught three yellowfin tuna right off the bat in the morning. Beautiful fish with tons of fight. We spent the rest of the day trying to get back on them, but fish do their own thing. We did get into a school of skipjack, which was a fun distraction for a bit. Lots of fight in those little guys! But eventually we worked our way back to port. Throughout the trip, captain Marc and deckhand Brandon were first class. They treated us like friends, and kept us well cared for. When the fishing was hot, they were always right there handing us a fresh rod with new bait in exchange for the one we'd just reeled in, always professional, always thinking one step ahead. At the end Brandon cleaned the fish for us, and even served us up some sashimi with soy sauce and wasabi! It was out of this world! I can't say enough good about our experience. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT book this charter service. Terrible guest service. Absolutely no backup game plan when nothing, and I do mean nothing, is biting! Captain is a jerk. Doesn't initially meet and greet? Has no personal skills. The boat is very hard, almost dangerous, to fish on the bow. And too small for only the 5 of us to fish in the back. Forget 6. I went out with Mark and Jerry for my second time. These guys really know what's going on..The target was tuna . Marc started out trolling and hunting for the bite. About two hours in he had us drop in bate. About 30 seconds later I was on. For the next two hours I pulled in tuna . I would get one in and they would hand me a rod with another one on. 6 hour 6 pack booked for March 24th was simply amazing. Captain Marc and his deck hand Brandon were awesome! We went out in not the greatest weather but they put us right on the fish and within MINUTES I had 2 fish and my friends 3 or 4. Both Brandon and Marc seemed super knowledgeable and were just great with us. Laughing and talking the entire time blasting thru waves while catching fish! Marc's response could not be any more accurate as his ability to find a kelp pattie, the two passengers on Craigslist Shawn & Dennis paid 150 & 180 respectfully and Dennis told me that was the most expensive boat ride he's ever taken and whole heartedly agreed with my original yelp post. I didn't actually get a chance to fish with Steve, but I really wish I had. We were in Jacksonville for business when we discovered we had a free day. It was very late notice and we had some specific preferences, like we wanted a half day excursion and a very small group. We wanted to fish not party...well, maybe a little partying but not party boat style partying. I called countless charter companies and spoke with A LOT of people, including Captians, and Captain Steve was by far the most responsive and accommodating. He was quick to reply to my queries and was able to accommodate our request, and all at nearly 10pm the night before. We were pretty much set when the local weather started calling for possessible storms. Steve knew all about what was going on and had a strategy to see that we still got to fish, safely. And when we bailed on him, telling him we were flying back a day early instead, he was gracious and wished us safe travels. Capitan Steve is a class act and we will definitely look him up next time we are in the J'ville area. Dave PS. We were referred to Capt. Marc and Brandon were a great crew. Started slow but headed into a school of Bonita that made for a great action. Then towards the end hit yellow tail which was great. On way back in had Bonita and yellow tail sashimi which was the bomb. Highly recommend this boat and crew. read more

ABSOLUTE RIPOFF!!! We booked a 6 hour charter which actually took 7.5 hours. We dropped our lines in the water 7 times!! Yes 7 times!! We actually fished for less than 30 minutes! I told him my frustration and he argued with me instead of apologizing. So basically we paid for a boat ride. We would never use this "charter" again and I encourage you to save your time and money and look elsewhere. I would have given zero stars if I could. read more

I was On the charter with Del aswell , One of the smoothest perfect days on the water, Considering it was a busy weekend Captain marc explained all safety procedures in which I was glad to be out within minutes, with best fishing season in 10 years. With a great Captain & crew of people they filled the bait box and made sure everyone was as comfortable as possible, we headed southwest within 1.5 hours instantly spotting patties 100% in the zone loaded with Mahi Mahi, with a quick drift we landed two nice sized in minutes. Perfect start for the morning/ a request from del was made without consulting me n a friend to fish ling cod and rock cod so we instantly headed straight back toward the islands per his request with a nice drift over a perfect spot pullin in nice cods huge bites , me and another guy who paid majority of this trip would of been nice to ask the rest of the crew besides that, I would highly recommend this charter to anyone, Consider tuna is seasonal who would ever want to request turning around a hour away from the tuna patties to catch Rock cod instead of blue fins. I don't know what Del is talking about. I live in Los Angeles and I check the fish reports for San Diego regularly. When the bite is on I always try to book mark and the fish Hunter. I have never been skunked and have maxed out multiple times. People that know how to fish recognize that mark knows the local and Mexican waters well. I also did a bottom trip with him once and we had a deck full of rockfish. Tacos for days!!! Last time I chartered him was about a month ago and we landed 16 yellowtail. My cousin hooked small yellow tail which was taken by a striped marlin! We were hooked up for a few minutes but the 30 pound test line could not withstand the second breach and head shake and the marlin sliced us off. I was amazed to hook up a Marlin in local waters. Anyways, I plan to come down to SD soon and book Mark again. The yellowtail are still hitting pretty well rt now. read more

We went on a full day charter yesterday. The day was less than enjoyable. The captain couldn't get us on anything but barracuda and seals. He only had us fish an area for minutes and then moved on. He seemed rushed. I have fished a lot of charters and have never almost gotten tossed from the boat by an experienced captain. He then took us to rock fish( which is not what we came to do, if we wanted to do that we would have gone to Morro bay ca. Where we live and the fishing is outstanding) we hooked 4 small rock fish between 5 of us and the deck hand. His rock fishing rigs were archaic at best. I would not recommend this charter. The only reason a gave it two stars was because of the DECK HAND JERRIMIAH HE ROCKED! read more

That was a lot of fun! We killed it a two weeks ago. Captain Marc and Deckhand Rob were great! Hit a big school of Dorado (Beautiful fish) and caught all the Yellow Tail we could ever eat. Super nice guys and very eager to help us catch fish. They did as little or as much as we wanted them to throughout the day. Well worth what we paid for the trip. One suggestion: While the boat is a 6 pack I would suggest 4-5 fisherman. Its a little small and on long trips it can be a little confining. But the whole adventure was a lot of fun and Marc and Rob were great at finding the fish and the right spots. Can't say enough great things about these guys. If you think you know it all then you may not have as much fun as we did. Fishing takes some work and some course knowledge. Fishing is not always catching.
