With plenty of fun and colorful seating available, the no frills casual vibes are great for groups of all sizes even when it may seem a bit busy, there is surely something available inside or out. While you are in line they will take any drink orders you may have and start serving you. The service was friendly and prompt, even when the place is packed (which it is bound to get), and for what you are getting the pricing was quite fair. Fish Hut Grill is outstanding. We have now been to several restaurants on Emerald Isle this week and Fish Hut Grill was by far the best. The cocktails were well made and tasted great. I had the whole tilefish deep fried with sides of onion rings and poutine. This was a meal for two and plenty of food. The fish was fried to perfection and it was seasoned well. Sometimes a fish this size can get lost in the fried coating. Not here. The meat was moist and flaky and had great flavor. One of the best tasting fish I have ever had. The sides were also fried and were well seasoned. One of the things I liked best about this place is the staff were all smiling and happy. Despite the room being absolutely packed, all the servers checked in with the customers, they were attentive and seemed genuinely happy to help. All of the other places we visited this week the staff was just mailing it in. In fact we walked out of one place without even getting served because the staff was so nasty. Fish Hut Grill was the opposite of that. Well managed and clean with a great variety of food prepared by people who know what they are doing. Can't recommend the Fish Hut Grill enough. read more

This was our first meal out on our trip to EI. You ordered, found a table and then paid on your way out. This surprised me since there is so much outside seating that it seems like it would be easy to walk away without paying. I've seen this at more than one beach restaurant though so maybe people are more honest than I expect. The food was good, bordering on mediocre and it seemed a little pricey but we enjoyed our food so I rounded up from 3.5 stars. The grilled and fried fish bites were delicious while the fries and poke were just ok. If we go back, we'll have to try other menu items. Also, we didn't have any alcohol this visit but the bar looked well stocked and frankly pretty awesome so we'll have to go back to at least try that! read more

I got blackened grouper on a salad, and poutine, my toddler got a grilled cheese (the only it I wouldn't order again, even for a child). This was a low-key spot that I really enjoyed. Placed my order at the counter with a the attendant that was more than helpful. The drinks are on a honor system so definitely make it easy to grab what you want. The food was amazing, I would recommend the fish tacos and cheese bites to anyone. Ate at Fish Hut Grill for lunch. The food was great! We had a grouper sandwich and a pound of peel and eat shrimp. Both were tasty. We also split a large pasta salad. This place lived up to it's reputation. Great reviews on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. Luckily, we found it on a day they were open. I believe they are only open Thurs - Sat until "summer". The line at 5 PM was already about 30 people deep and 50 by the time we were able to order. I had the fish tacos which were excellent and stuffed full. Wife had the shrimp tacos which she also loved. I was concerned when the kids ordered burgers at a fish taco place, but they were surprisingly good. As many families do, we always share and say "try this, try this". Was recommended this restaurant by an EI native and I am in *Love*. The shrimp was so well seasoned and for 2 tacos per order, perfect servings that didn't leave you feeling hungry after finishing. The fries were delicious. The Mac and cheese creamy and topped with little Goldfish crackers And the Dry Rub wings SO well seasoned that the chicken itself was juicy and flavorful. Service was amazing! Everyone's so nice and fast. The location is really cute, little parking, but makes up for it with the quality of food you get. 11/10 will come again! I had been recommended here by locals and the reviews are outstanding. So, I need to give my honest opinion so people know what to expect. You stand in a long line to order food. You can't even see what's on the menu until you her right inside. There is a sign that says no to go's. A server will come up and ask if you want a drink and take your name. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was absolutely delicious! When we finally got to the counter we had many questions and the girl taking our order was very kind and helpful. I chose the grouper over a salad. I noticed the pricing was very cheap for seafood in the area. That was a plus. I also ordered a tomato and cucumber side. My mom ordered a half pound of peel and eat shrimp and my dad ordered the grilled scallop smack and a chili. After ordering you find a table anywhere you can. It is a really chill, beach vibe atmosphere. No frills- which I liked. Great music playing- Dirty Heads, Stick Figure, etc. We found a table outside and pushed over all the food that was left on the table. Like I said- no frills. All staff were very friendly and Cole stood out to me the most. They call your name when they are taking trays out. Our food came and my dad's scallops had zero flavor. My grouper salad was OK. After having one the night before at another local restaurant? I can see why the price was so cheap. They use all Throw away plates and utensils. Chili was different but good. Cukes and tomatoes were not good at all. The tomatoes tasted really smooshed and cheap. Peel and eat shrimp were the smaller kind. So, basically the food was very subpar. I think this is more of a place to get fish tacos and fries. I barely ate any food and they do not have any to go containers so I had to put another container on top of it. I didn't like that at all. You then wait in another long line to pay. It's all written down by name. It took awhile for her to time me. A great margarita for the win!!! Yesss...fish hut has the margs perfected. I had both the strawberry cilantro and blueberry jalapeño. Both were amazing, but the blueberry was my favorite. We visited the fish hut several times during our 9 day trip to Emerald Isle and each time was great. Food is super fresh and hot. The service is friendly and quick. They get extremely busy, but it's worth the wait. Also, dog friendly. They allowed my dog inside while we ordered and then we sat outside and the waitress brought her a bowl of water.
