I've been to Beaufort three times now over the years, but had never made it into Jack's until today. We were down there on overcast chilly Sunday about 11 AM and there wasn't much going on, when we entered and went upstairs, it was quiet and that's what I was thinking the place was going to be dead, but as soon as we opened the door upstairs, you could tell it was a fairly busy place that has some good music and a fun ambience that seemed to attract a variety of people types and ages. It was a little different than I expected since it turned out to be more of a pizza place than a bar, but I had a great time and the food we had was very well prepared, flavorful, filling, and I was blown away by all the different types of breakfast pizza options they had as well as some sandwiches and some quality sides. The staff was very pleasant and super efficient and on a warm day in the summer they would have all of their windows open so you could get a natural breeze and airflow, and I'm sure it would be quite the fun time. Once we were finished, we went downstairs to the lower section and while there was nobody in there and it was dead, you could tell this was the party place during the summer or evenings and weekends, so I will give it another shot when I'm in town next time. read more

We were there during Big Rock and the place was packed. Service was fast and efficient. Alice was sassy (in an endearing kind of way) but she got the job done. We were there three times in three days if that tells you anything. We enjoyed the view and watching the boats. People watching was pretty good too. Prices were very reasonable. They didn't have any food, but that was fine. We would definitely go back if we are ever back in town. read more

The view! The service! The pizza! We loved our first visit to Jack's (pizza and beer) that we didn't wait long for our next visit (pizza and beer, with the pulled pork sandwich). The pizza is wood fired deliciousness and the pulled pork sandwich was something to behold. The fries are great, as well. My only criticism- the food is so hot and fresh and fast, we only had time for one beer. read more

We know restaurants can't always be exceptional every visit but today's brunch visit was poor on several levels. The margarita pizza crust was paper thin, wiggly and raw. It was so weak it wouldn't hold toppings. The breakfast sandwich was served obviously torched. I'm surprised it made it passed the expo and server and made it to the table. Visited during Big Rock weekend--Jax Waterfront charged a $10 cover, the band was solid, and vibes were good. Inside felt like a sauna with no airflow unless you stood by the breezeway. Then came the bartender at the small corner bar--the woman with the lip piercing. From the start, she looked annoyed, snapped at people simply holding out their cards (normal bar behavior), and treated patrons like a nuisance. I waited silently--with wristband visible--for about 10 minutes to close my tab. She served someone next to me, then scolded me for "impatience." That one moment collapsed the entire night. I've been to bars from Raleigh to Emerald Isle and never left a $0 tip... until now. Her attitude turned what should have been a 5-star evening into a 1--completely on her. read more

Very limited menu, mostly pizzas and sandwiches. We had a party of eight, but they seated us at a table for four, which made no sense, so we had to ask them to add another table. After we placed our order, we were told that the two main menu items -- the crab cakes and filet steaks -- were sold out (on a Saturday Night???) We drove 45 minutes and waited an hour, expecting more than just pizzas, salads, and sandwiches from a waterfront restaurant in such a nice building. In the end, everyone settled for appetizers, sandwiches, and pizza even the sandwiches arrived missing ingredients described on the menu. I suppose our fault, should have done research before trying new establishment. I guess one can't always expect Seafood at the beach, I get it. Most likely we will not go back. We came here to watch the football game and it looks like it's a really fun spot for live music. We wanted to sit at the bar in the restaurant but had a table instead. Stars based on price vs portions mainly. At this point in COVID & Big Rock, I'd say this was otherwise Pimento cheese skillet was laughable. Portions of fries were super small. Good drinks, great bartender. Enjoyable environment with beautiful waterfront views. The pizza was delicious and came out fast. The meatball sub was on the cold side however and the meatballs left something to be desired. Definitely would come back and give it another shot however. We were unable to dine upstairs in the restaurant due to short staffing and multiple party reservations, however the bartender downstairs was fantastic and took great care of us. The downstairs bar has a limited food menu compared to upstairs. Worth checking out if spending the day out in the area. read more

I stopped by Jack's for a beer on a Sunday afternoon. There was a band setting up. It's a warehouse looking setup. Nothing fancy, but a relaxed cool vibe. I was told they recently renovated the upstairs for private events. There was a nice size outside patio on the waterfront. No seats though. I watched someone cleaning one of the big charter boats next door. I also watched tons of boats coming and leaving the docks. It was a relaxing and casual spot to hang out and have a drink. They do not serve food, however there was a permanent food truck parked out front. read more

I will DEFINITELY come back. The food was amazing, although the impact of COVID-19 doesn't let you have the actual eat in experience I thought Jack's had a great vibe. We had my Son & Daughter-in-law's Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party in the 3rd Floor Event space and it was Wonderful!! Tess, the Event Coordinator, was very accommodating and helpful and kept things going smoothly. The view is spectacular from there and our bartenders were very friendly and kept us well served with cold beers. You couldn't ask for more , from a waterside bar. We will return. read more

Don't go if you and you sibling have similar names and you are less than 1 year since turning 21 (and your sister is 25). The girl checking IDs at the door has a second grade reading level, and couldn't comprehend that we are sisters and our address and last name are going to match. She wanted social media "proof" that I had turned 21. lol *after seeing other people who are newly 21 having the same issue with a girl at the door that is rudely questioning their ID; maybe employees should be better trained on spotting the differences on a real and fake ID.* All in all- drinks were good and pricing was very fair. Not worth the money. We ordered the macaroni and cheese with pork as an appetizer. It was tasty but the middle was barely warm. (Second time this has happened to us the first the inside was cold) It was 5:00 pm and they were already out of the blackberry turkey special I ordered. I ordered my second choice which was the air fried chicken bacon ranch wrap. I expected it to be hot. The sandwich was ice cold as if it was taken directly out of the refrigerator and they macerated the chicken into little tiny bits that you wouldn't even know was chicken. On top of that the curly fries were cold and hard. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

The food was delicious. The view was amazing. Our service was less than ideal. We sat for 10 mins before even getting a drink order. My dining partner had to go let the hostess know we were still waiting and no one had seen us yet. We had to go inside to seek assistance and refills. Several other servers and food runners went by our table not once stopping to see if we needed help to help out their coworker. Once we got to to leave we realized our server was overworked.
