It was a Friday and didn't feel like consuming meat nothing religious I was simply craving fish. This place is near me I drive by it all the time and decided to give the a try. When I got there the room was packed with people waiting for their order and I can see a lot of phone order slips which was a good sign. After I ordered I met several people who had driven from Bakersfield and Lancaster to get them some fish. Person quickly took my order with a smile. My fish came out quickly and I was on my way home nicely packed with all my fixings. I got home family was very hungry that I forgot to take pictures of all my stuff. I ordered the catfish and red snapper with wings combo got the potato salad,greens and fries. My whole order was jamming fish nicely fried wings were perfect potato salad was delicious and greens had a nice lil kick fries are crinkle cut and they put seasoning salt so you know they good. I went there today with my special needs daughter and the older man took my order. He was so distracted with my daughter winking and waving hi to her that he didn't give me my receipt and when I asked him for it he gave me someone else's receipt. He kept trying to get my daughter's attention which really annoyed me and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Another lady (customer) was waiting for her order and she noticed his behavior and commented as well. She came over to me and gave me a hug because she saw how his behavior towards my daughter was bothering me. I wish I could report him for something anything. Small place but easy to find, got the fried catfish with shrimp and a side of greens and macaroni salad. Oh and I also got the peach cobbler. The cat fish and shrimp was crispy and seasoned perfectly, the greens were decent but I wasn't really feeling the macaroni salad. The hush puppies was really good, normally not a fan but these were good I can tell it was freshly made. Service was great ! I went to this location and couple weeks ago and ordered Catfish and shrimp by the time I got 5 min from.home I noticed a whiff of something that didn't smell fresh but I wasn't sure what I smelled. I hot home and after eating 2 shrimp and fried noticed a smell coming from the fish like it had been sitting out or was old. I started getting nauseated from the smell and couldn't even eat the fries. I didn't get a chance to return to the location due to transportation issues that day. Visited this amazing place today and the food is so fresh and good. The staff are very friendly as well the service provided was positive my order was taken quickly and my food prepared right away. But as I was waiting the owner I believe he was gave me a piece of fried shrimp to taste while I waited man if was off the chain. I love that when i call ahead they are always pleasant and courteous. They give me my number and let me know how long it will be. They seem to keep updating the place because it has a new look. The filet of catfish dinners here are outstanding! The fish is always fresh, tender and flavorful. I always get the fish fried extra crispy and I'm never disappointed. I have been going to this location for years and it seems to have gotten better. The sides however are a problem. The potato salad has no flavor and I have no idea what they put in it, maybe yogurt or cream? There's no pickles or pickle relish, no mayo or mustard. The coleslaw is flavorless and the veggies are not crispy. The hush puppies are okay. They could be cooked a little longer, I just eat the outside. If they improved their sides, you wouldn't e able to get into the place. There's no seating inside but people just sit in their cars and eat!!! Or eat driving down Long Beach Blvd like I do!
