My wife and I had a top-notch experience at Fish N Beer and are already looking forward to going back. Everything about our visit was incredible. We started with West Coast raw oysters and the garlic butter wood-grilled oysters -- both were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. The grilled oysters in particular were rich and perfectly prepared. For our entrée, we had the crab-stuffed cod, which was absolutely delicious and beautifully cooked. We finished with key lime pie for dessert, and it was the perfect bright, refreshing ending to the meal. We went on Valentine's Day without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away at the shared table in the front. We didn't mind the communal seating at all -- it added to the lively energy! -- but if you prefer a private table, I'd recommend making a reservation. There's also a great fish bar area where you can watch some of the food prep. The vibes were incredible -- energetic but still intimate. Our server was fantastic and very helpful in guiding our food selections. Easily one of the best spots we've found in the RiNo neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Beautifully grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes in Romesco sauce

In Denver for a weekend and felt more like an adventour rather than fine dining. Fish and Beer was the perfect spot. A small establishment with a seaside slant of fire grilled seafood with a upscale diner vibe. This looked intriguing and good yet not highly refined. We had no reservations on a Thursday night and we're seated at a high top booth overlooking the crowd. Our waitress, Cassie, was busy at the bar mixing drinks and hustling at a few tables. She was engaging and a good sense of humor. We ordered the blue crab claw fritters with a dipping sauce. The piping hot fritters were different in a good way. The grilled oysters that were flying out of the kitchen were to hard to pass up. We tried the devil and garlic charred oysters and were pleasantly rewarded. We could not pass up the Spanish grilled octopus with roasted fingerling potatoes in a spicy Romesco sauce. A slight char on the succulent octopus and buttery potatoes was a homerun. Following the grilled seafood theme, our final selection was the PEI mussels with garlic butter, Calabria chilis, shallots, white wine and homemade grilled focaccia. UNBELIEVABLE! The portion size was huge and packed with flavor. I felt like we were emerged in a long shoreman's diner but definitely upscale, quality seafood. Do yourself a favor a try Fish and Beer in downtown Denver. The staff is engaging, hard working and really good at making good seafood dishes served with big flavors. Very well done FNB.

Everything is quite delicious! Service is excellent. Fun vibes inside with colorful ocean vibe in the back room and metal tables for a rustic seaside vibe.

5/5 next questionnnnnnnnnnnn Good seafood in Denver? Yeah sushi exists but actually good oysters? Yeah come here. Dior, our server, was awesome. Super chill personable and nailed the recommendations. The grilled oysters stole the show. If you come here GET THEM. They're amazing. Get half and half. truly couldn't decide which flavor I liked more. They were some of the best food I've had recently. The raw oysters were also delicious!!! Some of the best oysters in Denver HANDS DOWN. I wouldn't get the fried scallops again, even though I'm happy I tried them. They were just small and not too satisfying other than they were fried. The peel n eat shrimp were HUGE and tasty but not cut, so touch to peel. Can't complain tho. Oysters were so good

This place was awesome! Rolled in on a Friday later in the evening and were able to get a table for two. Cocktail menu is equally as impressive as the beer list. Staff was super attentive and we had zero issues. Food was AMAZING. I will definitely be back, loved the music too. Very Denver!

Mainly street parking in this area, so give yourself a little extra time to find parking depending on the time. Walked in around 5pm -ish, no reservation, and on a Thursday. Solid vibes and very clean restaurant. Staff were friendly, quick, and collaborative. Good food overall! Ordered mainly appetizers and split the entree. Favorite from the apps were the oysters and tostada. Smoked fish dip was still good and had really good grilled focaccia. Fnb Basket was good, seasoned and good potatoes, but the fish was on the smaller side. It does come with a small beer!

We were seated outside when it was 96 degrees that day. I wish they had told us when we made reservations that it was for outside. Their fan and mister were not working when we arrived, but someone was working on it and midway through dinner it started working and it felt much better. Most of their food though is delicious. All of their Oysters were good although a tad small for the kind, must get Devil Butter if you like spicy. The Mussels were also on the smaller side, but the flavor was amazing. It came with a side of Grilled Bread that the hubs used to sop the sauce up. Our server Danielle saw that when she came over and said she will bring another piece of bread. At first we were thrilled, only to find that she tacked $2 for it on the check. Oh well, we were going to add another couple bucks for that anyway, but I wished she had told us it was an upcharge so we can decide if we wanted it or not. We didn't feel our server was very forthcoming and felt a bit deceived in getting an additional charge to our check without our permission. The Scallops and the Cod were also fresh and tasty. We loved the chunky crabmeat that came with the Cod The Little Gem Caesar and Wood-Grilled Artichoke were just okay. We would come back just for the food, but next time when making reservations, we will make sure to tell them if we want to sit indoors. And next time one of their servers say they will bring you something, stop them before they walk off (like ours did) to ask if there's an additional charge.

We got off on the wrong foot to start with... We shouldn't have arrived hungry knowing it's a small popular place. Service- the hostess was new & lost our reservation. We arrived w/o one & she said it would be 45-1hr wait & made us a reservation. After 1 hour my husband looked at the app & our reservation was gone. They apologized & sat us in less than 5 mins. Lesson learned. We will make a reservation in advance next time. Ambiance- we sat at the bar top facing the kitchen. We really liked watching everything being made & it helped us decide what we wanted. It is very LOUD there. The guy sitting next to me wanted everyone to know he knew the chef & talked with all the cooks very loudly. Think of being in a club & trying to have a conversation. Food- everything we got was fantastic & I'll say that's what all the stars in this review are for. We got east coast oysters, ceviche (ok), scallops & chowder. We will definitely come back for the food.

Holy Smokes, this place was the bomb! Note that they open at 5pm! I wasn't paying attention and went at 3 hahaha! Good thing for coming early was that I got a parking spot, lol. All street parking. Tons, but if you're late in the game you'll be circling for a bit. We sat at the bar, which is great for first timers. We watched where all the magic happened. We ordered a bunch of happy hour items - raw oysters, grilled garlic oysters, fried bay scallops and chips, mussels, fried shrimp and chips! So much yummy food! I could've done without the fried shrimp, but I just wanted more! I was a bit too full to enjoy it, but it was good. The atmosphere was great. The place got packed within an hour of opening. It was a bit noisy, but that's expected. Our server was very attentive and reacted quick when one of our orders were wrong. Only thing we can say was that the fried bay scallops was Okay...but my friend wanted it so.... *shrug* Since it was a happening place, I might suggest making a reservation. We were there at 5:05, but even then the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We got lucky!

Got dinner here with a girl friend before heading out to Halloween mingle. We put in for a rsvp on a Friday night. We got there and were immediately taken to our table. I do recommend doing a reservation as there were a lot of people there already. Place is casual and clean. We took advantage of their HH menu and it was great because we got to try a lot of food. All our foods came out in reasonable timing. Of the oysters, we both really liked the east coast oysters. My friend liked the smelt fries, but it was a little too fishy for me. They were okay for me. We both really enjoyed the Baja mahi tacos and the mini fish n beer basket. Overall, I would definitely come back again! We had a great time here and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

I have been wanting to go to Fish N Beer for years now. However, my husband doesn't eat seafood (they only have two items that don't contain seafood) so I finally went with a friend. I am always skeptical of eating seafood in landlocked states but, you don't need to worry at Fish N Beer, this is what they do and it shows! Since we got there during happy hour, and this was my first time. We loaded up with: Fish and chips Scallops and chips Mussels Grilled Oysters (half Devil butter and half Garlic butter) Smoked Fish Dip Grilled Casear Salad (WOW!!) All of it was delicious. I wish the fish and chips would have come with more fish but it as mostly fries. The mussels were perfectly done and the sauce to dip the mussels and bread in was a unique and fantastic flavor. But the stars of the show ere the grilled oysters in devil butter, smoked fish dip, and grilled casear salad. Who knew grilling the lettuce could take a salad to the next level! I can't wait to go back!!!!

The food was fabulous the service as good but we didn't like being at the very back of the restaurant. We started with the mussels and could not have been more pleased. The garlic bread was to die for! I was craving fried fish but so much of the menu sounded terrific. So we tried each others' dishes! We also had cocktails and were quite pleased. This is the kind of place that is cozy and busy so glad we had reservations! The servers were attentive and helpful in choosing from the menu. Cannot wait to try the next thing on the menu! We ate every bite! Yum!

Ask the Community - Fish N Beer

Yelp says it's good for kids but I didn't see a kids menu. Do they have a kids menu? Are children welcome if they like seafood?

I don't agree that it is good for kids the menu is for a mature palette and I didn't see a kid selection on the menu.

What is the "devil butter"?

It is a spicy butter sauce that they use for different dishes.

Is it really busy should I make a reservation on a Thursday night?

I think it is a good idea to make a reservation. They seem pretty busy if you just show up. That said, you don't need to make a reservation far in advance. They are often available on short notice (even the day before).

Which days are happy hour? Is it just Tuesday's now like the website says?

Happy Hour is Tuesday through Saturday from 5-6:30pm.

This place charges $2.50 for soda water from the gun and .50 for a side of Siracha. Do you think this is fair?

Absolutely fair. The lights don't stay on for free. The gas that makes your water bubble is not free. With minimum wage rising again for service staff get ready to see lots more places moving to charges like this.

When we arrived, most of the covered seating and heater areas were already taken, so we ended up sitting in one of the uncovered sections. As it turned out, that was a blessing because the views were amazing. From where we were seated, we had beautiful views of downtown Denver and the surrounding cityscape. Between the skyline, lights, and rooftop atmosphere, it created a memorable evening. What impressed me most was the ambiance. The lounge had a lively but relaxed energy, and people were friendly and approachable. It felt like the kind of place where you could enjoy a date, meet new people, network, or simply unwind with friends over drinks and conversation. My date ordered food, but I honestly don't remember everything he had. I wasn't particularly impressed with the food, but since this is a rooftop lounge, the atmosphere was really the star of the show for me. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would return for the views, the social atmosphere, the drinks, and the opportunity to meet interesting people. Perfect for: Date nights, networking, socializing, drinks with friends, and enjoying Denver's skyline.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

I won't completely spoil it for people who want the fun of the hunt, but I'll leave a few hints at the bottom. The drink special that night - their version of an Old Fashioned - was excellent and absolutely worth ordering. The other cocktails are liquor + mixer with the soda or bar gun. We tried a local gin (can't remember the name) & soda and a Four Roses Bourbon & Pepsi. There was a odd flavor that came with that round and tasted watered down. Stick with the special. So good! I'd go back all day for the special alone. The staff was a little bit of an outlier compared to the rest of the experience. Everyone was nice, but they didn't seem especially engaged, and the attire didn't really match the speakeasy atmosphere.
