Peel and eat Spicy Shrimp with potato chunks squ and a round of frosty pints of amber ale. They provided a large hunk of bread to pass around for blissful mopping. I am not going to lie, I set my expectations on the lower side because I've had quite a bit of bad seafood in Colorado but I was blown away with everything we ordered. From the exterior and interior, Fish N Beer is unassuming. It gives a very relaxed, neighborhood eatery type of vibe. The food on the other hand is phenomenal. We ordered the salmon and octopus and everything from how they were cooked to the sides (the potatoes with the octopus were SO good) to the sauce were amazing. There was not a single thing I thought was lacking with the dishes. To top it all off, I'm not a big dessert person, but the key lime pie was perfectly sweet and was delicious. Had a fantastic meal at Fish N Beer for Restaurant Week. I highly recommend making reservations as this place is busy. We were seated in the outdoor area and promptly greeted by our server. It was still Happy Hour, so I ordered a mezcal mule for $10. Our server also made sure to come to our table for last call, bonus. I also ordered 1/2 dozen of their house HH oysters for $2.50 each, which were sweet and delicious. Their Restaurant Week Menu was three courses for $45. For my first course, I selected the plentiful serving of mussels in a coconut broth with focaccia bread. I couldn't decide between two entrees, so I told the server to surprise me and not worry. I would not be disappointed. He picked the grilled chile relleno stuffed with calamari, shrimp, and scallops in a creamy yet spicy guajillo and arbol sauce. Super flavorful and filling. First time at this restaurant while visiting Denver. Octopus is great! So tender and tasty along with the garnishings. Yellowtail Crudo is so refreshing paired with chips. And ofcourse oysters are so amazing as well. And it's all cook right infront of our table. Servers are so knowledgeable of the menu and pay attention to what your specific needs. Like I drop my table napkin and a new pair is given to me in a few minutes without me even asking for one. We shared (1) Baja Mini Tacos; (2) Mussels; (3) Peel N Eat Shrimp; (4) a dozen oysters; (5) Fried Bay Scallops with fries; and (6) FNB Basket. Our absolute favorite was the Baja Tacos which were Mahi. Absolutely yummy. The mussels were so tasty. I wasn't too impressed with the Fried Bay Scallops. Easy five stars for Fish N Beer! We came here not knowing what to expect and enjoyed the best seafood and drinks during their happy hour. Our server was friendly and quick with our frequent reordering of grilled oysters and small dishes. This has to be one of the easiest five star reviews I've ever written. We came in for a birthday dinner and we were floored by the amazing food and phenomenal customer service. The spot is very small and cozy. It's very clean. It's open kitchen style so you can watch them shucking oysters and cooking up some good eats. It was so fun seeing all the dishes come out and drooling over them. Caleb was amazing and provided truly stellar service. strange overall experience. Service was slow & when our food finally arrived it was cold. My friend was so hungry he just ate his, but I asked for mine to be heated. The mgr came to our table to say that the dish couldn't be re-heated, a new dish had to be made. I get that and said ok. The wait for the new dish ended up being really long, around 15 mins, during which the server never came to check on or update us. The mgr came over and asked if I'd like another glass of wine and I said yes. When the dish finally arrived, the server mumbled something about "um, this never happened before" but didn't apologize. My friend was done with his meal and I just started eating. The dish was a stuffed cod which was gloppy and kind of a mess. The glass of wine I had while waiting the extra 15 mins for the dish at a proper temperature wasn't comped. This place was awesome. I'm already dreaming about my next time here! A group of friends and I went for happy hour and you can't beat the deal and freshness. We got a ton of the 2.50 raw and grilled oysters. The grilled oysters can't be missed - those were my favorite. The garlic and devil butter were both so delicious. We also tried the fish dip (good but not amazing), the fish n beer basket, and the mussels. The fried fish here is done exceptionally well - light batter and super crispy. I didn't try the actual mussels but I did try the sauce they came in and it was super spicy and rich. They have a ton of awesome options for drink specials as well. We ended with the Keylime pie because we had seen all the reviews about it previously. It was good but none of us thought it was the best one we've ever had. I also am not a huge Keylime fan in the first place but it was fun to try. The service was great - we never waited super long for anything and servers who weren't even with us stopped to pick up empty plates and cups. First time!! This small wonderful oysterette is at the far east end of Rino on Larimer St Just west of Downing St. I discovered it back in November. They open at 5pm, so I made a reservation thru Resy. When I arrived I was #3 in line. The couple ahead of me are regulars that come every weekend. I sat at the kitchen counter in front of their full bar. I was served by Ashley & Scott. Great staff. I got 12 grilled oysters (1/2 on garlic wood & 1/2 on devil wood) for $30. I found I arrived for Happy Hour (Tues-Sat 5pm-630pm), so reduced prices for food and beers. I paired the oysters with a 7oz draft pour of New Terrain Rambler Amber. I later found happy hour price was only $6. Great oysters & great beer. Next, I got a Kale salad and Crab Fritters with a 7oz draft pour of New Image Coriolis Effect. I then got the FnB basket of Fried Cod with fries and a 7oz draft pour of Ratio Beerworks Cityscapes Mexican Lager. The same Lager was used for the batter. Made a reservation on the patio for dinner on Friday night after hearing great things. It is a small restaurant so make sure to make a reservation. We started with drinks at their standing bar while we waited. The Key Lime Tini is so fun and delicious. We sad on the patio and our server was very attentive. Always love coming to Fish N Beer! Quality of the seafood is so great and we love everything we've tried on the menu. Tonight we had raw East coast oysters, fish dip, and calamari to start, then a couple of fish baskets and a Caesar salad. To finish we had a slice of key lime pie which was divine. Not only is the quality of the food great but the service is always great too. Cocktails I recommend are the pink 75 and Paloma (not picture) but they also have wine and beer. 5 stars for the service and oysters! The other plates we've tried had been just okay. We came for their happy hour, mostly to try their their oysters. Both fresh and grilled oysters were amazing. We sat at the counter where you can watch the chefs grill the food on the fire. (It does get really warm because of the fire but it's fun to watch!) GARLIC BUTTER WOOD GRILLED OYSTERS - what you'd expect them to me - garlicky, savory, delicious. DEVIL BUTTER WOOD GRILLED OYSTERS - they use their own devil sauce which is made with Chipotle Peppers I believe. So it is a mildly spicy, a bit smokey, and still very garlicky and delicious. FRIED BAY SCALLOPS AND FRIES - I would pass on this. The scallops are teeny tiny which is fine, but you can't really taste them much. And whatever breading they use is so dry and bland. WHOLE ALAMOSA BASS - entire fish that they cook in the oven and then char on the wood grill. The fish itself is really bland, which is disappointing. I believe they put garlic butter on it but you don't taste anything on the fish. The best thing about this dish were the potatoes. The potatoes had a chimichurri sauce on them that was really good. They could probably put the chimichurri on the fish to give it some kind of flavor. I would recommend trying both grilled oysters!
