I am picky about my drinks and the bartender made them perfectly! Got the blackberry margarita and espresso martini. It can be hard not to make espresso martinis bitter, she used Mr. Black liquor in it and it was awesome. This place gives me bookstore speakeasy vibes. It's smaller but has a back area open on the weekends - and can also be rented out for events!! My bartender was kind enough to check on me when I told her I was on a first hinge date. That kind of girl power is hard to find so I felt safe - but you could also tell that for a Wednesday night this place has a community and people know each other. Def check it out! read more

First customer of the day Lenny was my server. On this humid day, I came in to a cool space. I had the Bee's Knee, a gin based cocktail with lemon & honey. This beverage originated during Prohibition where the lemon & honey covered up bathtub gin. A soothing drink. The new menu has the classics + 3 mocktails and food. You can bring takeout food from three local places, Taki Sushi, La Loteria Taqueria and Thai Monkey Club. I got a new mocktail, the Strawberry Beret. Returned to Pretty Neat during another holiday season and the cocktails were fantastic! The Oaxcanite had bold flavors of Mezcal and tequila with a perfect amount of lime, honey, and bitters to make the cocktail a smooth sip. My second cocktail was the Blackberry Margarita, a beautiful purple-hued take on the traditional cocktail. Bartenders, as usual, were amazing. I decided to try out this place after some recommendations from friends when I asked for a bar that's not as divey like the bars I usually go for. I am really glad I stepped out of my comfort zone because Pretty Neat is... well... pretty neat lol. First off, the ambiance there is perfect for a quiet night out with friends or to impress a date. It's dark and moody with the music level at a point where conversation can easily be had. Service is amazing. All the bartenders there were super knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. Shout out to them! Last but not least, the drink menu is impressive with many different craft cocktails. I tried a few there and they were all amazing but my favorite was the blackberry margarita. They're also reasonably priced at $12/cocktails. I've had cocktails of this quality and easily paid $20+. I can't wait to go back here! read more

I'm sure I've walked past this place a bunch of times because it definitely blends into the background (and has a tiny sign). But I wanted a new spot to check out for my birthday last week and was so happy we came by. For about an hour, it was just my husband and I and the bartender Asa who was awesome to chat with. His drink, the Mary Robinson, was the featured cocktail and was all ingredients I liked and I was not disappointed. The drink blended perfectly and I liked the little lemon twist on the side. Presentation and flavors were great. Asa knows his stuff! Eventually some other people came in as the evening wore on, but we loved this place, the drinks, the vibes. Again it's easy to walk right by and not even notice it but this will definitely be one of our new go-tos for cocktail nights. I would say this place is small and not great for groups over 4 but terrific for date night or a few friends. read more

On a mission to find Denver's best whiskey sour. I would rate theirs as a 6/10. The flavor was decent but there was something off about it. It would have been better over an ice cub. The presentation was 10/10 though and the staff here is lovely. Atmosphere is also super cool with a prohibition vibe. I would come back and try something else for sure! read more

Wedged between a vape shop and liquor store, you'll find this quaint bar-look for the pink neon light. It has been open for a year and they seem to be thriving. As was recently pointed out in this year's edition of Westwood's 100 Bars You Can't Live Without, it is actually pretty neat! Great cocktail selections that are all priced at $12 (except for speciality holiday drinks) as well as great service makes this one of the newest go tos for a drink along Broadway. Pretty Neat has two sets of bars and both come with regulars that are easy going and fun. I chose the Gingerbread Espresso Martini- and it definitely hit the spot! Will be back! read more

This is such a fantastic addition to Broadway! They have a seasonal menu of cocktails, most for only $12, and everything I've had has been great. The bartenders are also fantastic - friendly, and they come up with some really creative stuff. Make sure to try their cocktail of the month, always created by staff. Ooh, also try anything with the ginger syrup; they make it in house and it's incredible! The place also has a great vibe. Comfy and cool. Highly recommended! read more

This is one of the best bars on South Broadway in Denver. They make one of the best Penicillins I've ever had, with blended Scotch, ginger, honey, lemon, and a Laphroaig spritz. I also love their Moscow Mule! They offer beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options as well. They've been there for almost two years, and in my opinion, they've really elevated the South Broadway Denver area. read more

This is probably the only bar in Denver that offers well-made, classic cocktails for under $15. The space is cozy and inviting, they have books you can read, and the bartender Rooster is very friendly. The ambiance and quality of cocktails puts Pretty Neat on the map for being one of the best drink stops in Denver. What really sets them apart is having a selection of cocktails for under $15. At $12 each, they have my vote for keeping it chill and affordable to have a night out without dropping a week's pay on a cocktail experience. You can upgrade your drink from well to one of the selections on the wall and my husband did that with his bourbon/rye for an extra $3. Still not bad considering most places are charging $20+ for a cocktail these days. They have a pretty straightforward menu with some interesting ingredients and we tried 4 cocktails - Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Clover Club, and the Eastside. All of the drinks were great - our faves were the OF and Eastside. The vibe is relaxed and clean and comfortable. The bartender was friendly, welcoming, and made a great cocktail. What I really loved was that it didn't feel stuffy or pretentious at all. More like a local hangout. 10/10 will be back. read more

We sat at the bar and saw other old fashioneds that were made and were surprised to see the variability in the pours. Also, they were not very tasty. Pretty Neat has a great ambiance and a cute menu. Unfortunately, their service leaves quite a bit to be desired. There was one bartender there and only 6 people total at the bar. We waited about 15 minutes before the bartender took our order even though we were at the bar and clearly ready to order. The worst part was when we tried to get our check. It took 45-50 minutes. The bartender had some friends at the bar and was talking to them for about 25 minutes. He was clearly invested in the conversation because he didn't see or ignored our multiple attempts to get our attention. Then he went outside to vape and take a phone call. He was outside for about 10 minutes. He returned inside and went back to his conversation with his friends for another 10 minutes. Finally, he looked over at us (the only other customers in the bar at that point) and asked if we needed anything. We obviously could've been inconsiderate and gone up and interrupted his conversation to get the check, but I do believe that it is the bartenders responsibility to ensure the costumers are being taken care of in a timely matter. Was very disappointed in the service and believe it could be a great bar if their bartenders are even slightly more attentive. read more

Visited Pretty Neat for the first time this past Sunday with a friend and it was great! It's a hidden gem on Broadway at the moment, but I hope it continues to attract more customers and gain success. The bartenders were hilarious and quick to distribute drinks. I had the Blackberry Bramble and it was delicious! I thought the drink prices were a steal compared to other bars in Denver. On the right side of the bar when you enter, there's a cute neon sign that reads "I think you're pretty neat" - perfect backdrop for a picture. The bartenders have great taste in music and kindly shared the Spotify playlist they created for the bar when I asked them. 100/10 would return. Staff was very personable and talkative. Drinks were amazing, super high quality, no needless flair or showing off, and very reasonably priced. Initially, I wished there were a little more options for snacks, however they are very upfront in encouraging you to bring food from one of their neighbors. I seriously love this approach! I'd much rather go get some really great food/snacks I enjoy from a different place, instead of getting possibly mediocre or OK food from there! The place itself is small but not too small, very cozy in the best way. Everything is clean, and has ton of stylish decor. This awesome little bar is my favorite spot on South Broadway! It's comfortable and inviting, perfect for meeting friends or for a date, and it's neither pretentious or stuffy. There's a genuinely friendly energy present every single time I've visited. Their specialty drink menu features a number of concoctions sure to please even the most discriminating of tastes. So far, nothing beats "The Penicillin" --artfully composed flavors that compliment and balance each other so smoothly, that I always have to remind myself to not gulp. Beware: these drinks are damn good because they're made right. Even better, you'll get out the door with your wallet still intact. I don't expect this hidden gem to remain a secret for very long. Bars of this caliber are far and few between. Pretty Neat, laid back proprietor Xanthus (his real name!), and friendly bartender, Asa, serve up the best drinks in town. We used the back bar at Pretty Neat for a Valentine's Day / Surprise Birthday party and it was THE BEST experience ever. The service was incredible from beginning to end. As a person who comes from the hospitality industry I had high expectations and they were exceeded in every way possible. Drinks were 10 out of 10. Friendliness of the team was 10 out of 10. The space 10 out of 10. I will do everything I can to become a "local" at this establishment and hope to host another event there as soon as possible.
