Let me start by saying that in Frederick, this was the first practice that would even consider seeing me after calling everyone I could to try and continue my immunotherapy that I have been getting for 8 years in two different cities. I was told that "we don't do that" by two other doctors. After waiting a month and a half for the first available appointment, I came into the office. The office is dark and depressing. I met with Dr. Muniz who seemed perfectly willing to give me my shots after getting my records from another office. However, as I left I was slightly concerned when he said "if you haven't heard from us in a month, give us a call." The front desk lady then asked for the mailing address of my old doctor to get my records. I gave them a fax number, phone number, address, and signed forms that they required. One month later, I call to see how things were going. The person who took my call was either in a bad mood or something, asked what I meant by "things" and reprimanded me for telling her the name I have gone by my entire life instead of my legal first name, both of which should have been in my file. Many of my doctors are able to find my file with both names. Then she asked if I wanted to start shots -- the entire reason I came in in the first place. I am now confused as to why I had to go into the appointment in the first place. They said they would "send me a packet" which I guess meant by mail because they are about 20 years behind in terms of technology and then I could make an appointment. Just looking for some decent medical care in Frederick and was again disappointed. This practice was confusing, disorganized, and moved painfully slowly to get something VERY commonplace and easy to do. I have never had so much difficulty with getting medical care. I never received a packet, only a bill. Needless to say - I will not be getting my shots here.

I can't know what happened with the other case, but here's my experience with Dr. Wayne Cardoni. I am going through a serious health challenge. I went to Dr. Cardoni and he did my screening, diagnosis and ultimately surgery. In spite of the fact that he gave me great confidence, after his screening and diagnosis, but before surgery, I went to Johns Hopkins and was seen by three world-class physicians. Without getting into the details, it was quite amazing that every conclusion (diagnoses, appropriate treatments, etc.) Hopkins arrived at Dr. Cardoni had already determined--he never missed one. In addition, the Hopkins direct counterpart knew of Dr. Cardoni, knew his work from Dr. Cardoni's days at Walter Reed, and spoke highly of him. When I told this doctor (who would have been the one to do my surgery at Hopkins) of my decision to have surgery done by Dr. Cardoni and the follow-on treatment by Hopkins he said "I highly endorse" this plan and reiterated his respect for Dr. Cardoni's work. Post surgery: From the nurses where I spent 2 nights at the hospital to the 2 doctors at Hopkins who have assessed me after surgery all commented that Dr. Cardoni had done an excellent job. One last point, maybe minor to some, but I'm a stickler for is that Dr. Cardoni will tell you if he doesn't know something rather than, as some will do, BS you, not being comfortable saying "I don't know". By the way, the things he doesn't know are questions I posed but were beyond his specialty. This gave me added confidence in his knowledge and ability.

Cardoni could not answer my questions and when I asked for a biopsy he said no it's not needed that he sees it all the time. I told him I wanted a biopsy regardless to ease my mind. He seemed very irritated. I had a punch biopsy done by him and it took five weeks for results after calling and calling. It should have taken no longer the two weeks max. The results were negative and I felt they were phony because the specimen was never tested. Here I sit a year later suffering from tongue cancer that could have been prevented if this man would have taken me seriously and treated me. I had to ask for a biopsy that I still believe was phony results and if he did not act that I was like everyone else and took concern we may have found a answer sooner and I would have been cancer free at stage 1 instead of stage 3. You would also think he would had his office call and say your results are negative let's bring you back in to see if we can find a answer as to what's going one. NOPE treated liked everyone else, I was left without a answer and looking for medical assistance. Do not trust this man!!! He does not care just like the fast in and out military doctor.

Since I am petrified of needles, she certainly made it less stressful and I did fine. The nurse Abby was very sweet and comforting also. There is only one thing I would say is very negative is the girls at front desk when you arrive for your appointment. They don't smile and are pretty rude. To be in a position greeting patients they should at least smile, they act like they hate being there and are bothered to help you get signed in. If you can get past them, you should do fine with the good experience with Dr. Hakim.
