I am finally attempting to integrate a CPAP into my life. It is a life change that requires discipline to reach a point that the body is responding well to the machine. Thus, being able to reach out and be taken care of by someone knowledgeable when you are anxious and don't have the answers is a HUGE life blessing!!! Kelsey was the person for me. She answered and listened patiently while I explained what my first 4 days adapting to the machine were like. Then she asked some enlightening questions and responded intelligently when asked. It was VERY obvious to me that she is HIGHLY knowledgeable about this subject matter. FCPA/Privia, if you decide to adopt direct CPAP services into your portfolio, you absolutely MUST make Kelsey your centerpiece. Knowledge shared is not as useful if there person sharing lacks social skills. Kelsey, has people skills in ABUNDANCE. She is warm, engaging, and takes time to explain her answers as opposed to the often short/curt responses one gets from a medical professional. I am blessed that Kelsey entered my life today and she will be my goto contact for questions concerning my life changes involving my CPAP. I send a form to be completed from the MVA by 01/31 on 01/08. I was assured by the staff that the form would be completed and sent by the office to the MVA. I just received a letter yesterday that my license will be suspended in less than two weeks, because they never received the form at MVA. The last two days I have called the office at 63 TJ drive and all they will say is the form is in review with the doctor. I am going to loose my license due the inefficiency at this office. read more

Since many of the office assistants have retired, the quality of the administrative team has drastically declined. It seems the physicians are unable to care for their patients as well as the would like from lack of support. I've seen doctors do their own administrative work because the office team was unwilling or unable. There is a serious attitude problem that needs to be addressed. Many times the admin staff gets information incorrectly or they don't want to make the effort to make sure it is correct. If any requests fall outside of their bubble they become agitated and indignant. I am made to feel as if I am a nuisance for simply asking them to do their job. read more

I called today for an appointment after being a patient for over ten years and because we had a global pandemic and nobody went anywhere for years and I haven't been sick for three years I was denied medical care until september. My file is inactive so they are saying I'm a new patient. I'm sick, but they don't want to see me now. This is not somewhere you can expect customer service or quality care. Dr. Hundemer and her assistant were amazing. I had my first visit here recently and she really took her time, was extremely thorough and professional. She is by far the best physician I've ever seen and I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring & top-notch doctor. The front desk folks could use some major improvements in their customer service as the check-in process didn't go as smoothly as I'd expected. However, where their service lacked, the Dr. made up for it with her level of care. In closing, they really need to get a handle on their admin staff. That was my only gripe. read more

I asked them a refill for my medicine. They asked me to make virtual appointment with my doctor. She talked to me less than 5 minutes but paid copay of$30. Totally unfair. I talked to receptionist , she was very rude. My doctor is good but front staff are always very rude . read more

The doctors here are from John Hopkins they do same day appointments and walk-ins if they can squeeze you in. I have never been denied a same day appointment. The front desk staff is friendly and professional. The nurses are personable and knowledgeable. There's not alot of good doctors in Frederick MD so I suggest trying this Family Practice. read more

This rating is directly for Laura Roque, NP - not the office as a whole. I am an ED RN, I understand how challenging working in healthcare can be and I also understand that mistakes can be made - things happen. Last year this office had a big oopsie with my mother. She was told a spot was benign before it's official read came out and it wasn't. They thought the likelihood it was cancerous was low and didn't want to leave her in suspense over the weekend. The next week Laura called my mother and when my mother told her that she was told it was benign Laura, aggressively, rudely and while my mother was DRIVING, yelled out "IT'S NOT BENIGN, YOU HAVE CANCER!" Okay, is this very unprofessional and would you expect someone in her position to have more self-awareness and self-restraint? YES. But, mistakes happen and it wasn't her fault that the wrong information was given. The office (not Laura) did a lot to make up for this mistake and handled the recovery very well and every other provider was wonderful for them. Fast forward to this year - my father was recently diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma and has been undergoing treatment. He has a wound that has become very painful and they went to the office to have it checked as they wait for their appointment with the wound clinic. The only provider available to see them was Laura (shock) and she was once again rude, unprofessional and apathetic. My mother asked if they could help at all with cleaning the wound a little as they were nervous to clean it and were told that saline was the way to go. Laura quickly shut them down and said that they don't have saline in the office and they "don't do that here." If they don't have NORMAL SALINE in their office, that is a whole other issue and one that I don't believe for a second. My parents have been handling all of this as best they can and have been supported by their providers. My mother left Laura's care and completely broke down because of the treatment and lack of care my father received. Laura was completely unhelpful and seemed genuinely unknowledgeable and careless to them. Laura, it seems like it's time for you to stop working in direct patient care, or maybe reassess why you became a nurse to begin with because you're not doing your job well and it shows. read more

My initial impression of the doctor was positive. It's the surrounding incompetence that is so worrisome. One visit. Multiple errors. Nurse taking patient history, inaccurate notes for the file, labs abandoned (samples taken but not sent for analysis), nurses chastising patients in compliance with doctor's orders (the same one, Sheera?) ... After several missteps, interruptions and audible annoyance in her voice, I asked the nurse to please have someone else call me back. She broke down and started yelling. It would have been laughable at a pizza restaurant, but it's my health - so, no. Sadly, despite trying, there seems to be no fix here. Neither office manager, nor doctors are able (or willing?) to correct mistakes. Messages unreturned. Patient file errors remain. A recipe for larger future medical errors. When you show up for treatment for asthma, and the staff are all wearing fragrances so bad it aggravates the symptoms, it shows zero patient care. Happened more than once. Is not willing or able to diagnose anything complicated and pretty much refused to do so and seemed unwilling to go into any depth at all in anything, in my view, because it was just too much work. I just called and was answered with a very rude and grouchy "Hello?" No introduction, no friendliness. I asked if a specific PA worked in this office. "No" After a moment of silence thinking she would go on to tell me where I could find that PA since the PA is within FPCA, I had to ask if she knew. "I have no idea who that is" Um ok...thanks? She practically hung up before I could say "Alright, thank you anyways" Front desk/reception is the face of a business and so far that face is very ugly. I have seen Dr. James Amerina and other doctors for last 6 years and he has always been kind and willing to give me referrals . He will see me and treat me for sick visists and at his facility. I like their hours and also like staff they accomodate you if you are sick and want to visit same day. I usually needed him to monitor my H1c for Diabetes monitoring as I am a pre diabetic. His suggestions has been excellent about food and calorie intake and helping me to prevent diabetes. read more

Absolutely abysmal customer service now. We are patients of the Brunswick office and have never had an issue with that one particular office (although we miss Dr. Thompson - he was the best). The Frederick offices treat you like a leper once they look you up and realize you are from another office. That flat our refuse to see you even though they deprecated all walk in hours outside of the one office. No one there (ie. office manager) cares - my family and I are switching because of repeated issues when we are sick and need medical care. I am not saying the doctors are bad, I am saying that the people who run the offices are beyond awful and seem annoyed that you wish to be seen. read more

I've been a patient at this practice for more than 10 years, but I'm concerning a change. My access to my primary physician is severely limited as I have to wait 3-4 weeks for an appointment and call backs by the physician do not occur - only by a nurse. Only one other doctor in the practice is competent. My HIPA designations have been used to inform my children of a needed & critical office visit in lieu of myself. read more

I have been a patient here for about ten years. They can always see you the same day for sick visits but anything else, like a physical to return to work or a request to be seen for a non-urgent issue like fatigue- will take weeks to get an appointment. It recently took two weeks to get a pre-authorization done for a prescription. I was charged $15 for that! The office staff is frequently rude and difficult to work with. Doctors are good but the office staff and business practices need a lot of work. read more

I have been a patient at Frederick primary care Associates since 2001. In all that time I have never called when I was sick and not been seen either that day or the next day. I see Dr. Karen Hundemer, my husband sees her as well. Because I have family in the healthcare profession I occasionally ask for tests that are not routine but that provide additional and valuable information. Dr. Hundemer always considers these requests, educates me on the pros and cons, and in the end will either go with the additional tests I requested or will educate me on why what we've done so far is sufficient. I've always felt well taken care of by the staff there. I also like that they now draw blood in-house, so lab work does not need to be done at a separate location. Waiting time is probably about average for doctors office, usually somewhere between five and 15 minutes of my scheduled appointment time. They also have sick hours seven days a week! I think that's great! In the last 13 years I've recommended Frederick primary care Associates to many folks and have only heard positive things back from those who have joined the practice. read more

Years of being a patient and have a couple of accidental "no shows"... someone comes in for depression and it's clear as the doctor admitted to seeing distress BUT rather than help and be the doctors they're supposed to be....all that was given was a DISMISSED from the practice. Guys talk to your insurance companies about this place. Lodge formal complaints. With enough complaints an investigation into the practice will be made! This office needs to be audited so bad! They should be fined and closed! ...... Absolutely horrible! The wait time for phone calls and appointments usually runs 30-60 minutes. The staff is rude, and uneducated. And the doctors are too busy to answer questions. My boyfriend and I both scheduled Routine Physicals, our first in years. My experience: I was told I HAD to have my Well Woman Exam (Pap Smear) in the office, too, or I would "lose it". Bull shit. Most PCPs do not do Paps in their office, as it is a Specialty, and they are General Medicine. But I went ahead and had it done, because well it had to be done. I later confirmed with my insurance that what they told me was utter bull-shit and I even tried to contact the office about why they are telling women this, and failed to get any response. I also know for a fact that they are still telling people that. Luckily, I have been able to warn my friends away from the office. After waiting an hour, to be seen, my doctor performed my Pap and nothing else. I had to run down the nurse to get the mandatory blood test required by my insurance. But I wanted other tests done, too. I wanted ROUTINE bloodwork because it had been so long. She refused and absolutely no analysis of my lifestyle, concerns, or actual physical was performed. After seeing the list of tests a coworker had received, I called back several times, again asking for anything routine. See, the doctors have to have a diagnosis to request lab work, and well, "routine" is a diagnosis code. That is what my coworker's diagnosis was. But my doctor put random, vague diagnoses, like "fatigue" for the exact same tests. My boyfriend's experience: His doctor gave him an actual physical. But the front office billed it as an "office visit" instead of "preventive care". Myself nor my coworker (who did not have a Pap Smear done, by the way) were billed as regular office visits, even though it was both of our first times there. What he received was a routine physical, with routine bloodwork prescribed. We are in the process of appealing the claim. We will not pay the bill they sent us, as regular office visits are applied to a deductible. When it goes to collections, we'll contest it. I am also looking into reporting this office for insurance fraud. read more

Dr. Desai is a new doctor but not worth the visit. As a previous yelp commenter stated, all they care about are the numbers here. They don't care about your health nor wellbeing. If you call too much, (as the doctors ask you to do if you're not feeling well) you become a burden. It doesn't feel welcoming at all. And every time I would call to speak to my doctor or make an appointment I would get answered rudely by someone by the name of K? I'm unsure but I even mentioned it to Dr. Desai who seemed to brush off the comment. If youre looking for a new PCP or just changing location... I recommend you look elsewhere.. After over 10 years as a patient, I was dismissed due to a billing error on their part. They also dismissed my entire family, even though we had separate accounts and my account was the only one with an issue. The billing department referred me to the office manager, and she attempted to refer me back to the billing department. Eventually the office manager admitted she was not willing to do anything to help me, and Frederick Primary Care no longer wants my business. Honestly, I'm glad this happened. The office is very convenient and accepts my insurance, and I didn't want to make the effort to change practices. I tolerated the rude receptionists and inefficient doctors for far too long. Honestly, the only thing they ever treated properly on the first visit was Strep throat. Do yourself a favor if you're looking for a new doctor and look elsewhere. We deserve better. read more

I have been a patient at the practice on Thomas Johnson Dr. over 10 years. My experience with my primary care doctor, Dr. Edward Fischer has always been great. I usually schedule with Susan Burton, C.R N.P. She always was friendly, professional and very thorough. Unfortunately I've noticed the customer service take a turn for the worst over the last couple of years. The staff always sound annoyed when you call and try to schedule appointments. My recent experience in September 2019 with Melissa Davis, C.R.N.P. was a breaking point for me. I was treated so poorly by her. I came in unexpectedly due to dropping a wooden armoire door on top of my big toe. Clearly, my toe was bruised black and blue and blood coming out the side of my toe nail. The pressure from the blood under my toenail was excruciating. My overall toe was in so much pain that I was almost certain that it was broken. Melissa Davis took a look at my toe and asked several question. I was told repeatedly that there wasn't much that could be done. As the last patient of the day Melissa Davis didn't seem very interested in helping. I had to personally request an x-ray so that I could know the severity of my injury. She made it seem as if it didn't make a difference. I kept inquiring about recovery time and treatment. I was told that 4-6 weeks to heal but there wasn't anything else that could be done. My toe was indeed broken. Melissa Davis refused to complete any of my short term leave paperwork. I asked to speak with my primary doctor or Susan and I was refused the ability to speak with them. I found a podiatrist that helped me with draining the blood from my toe nail and then eventually removing it. He even followed up with me to make sure I was getting around ok. The service I received from Melissa Davis was reprehensible. It's a shame when people lose sight of their jobs and just show up to collect a paycheck. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Ciarkowski for over 20 years and absolutely love her and the Spring Ridge office, nurses and front desk. I had my first experience at the walk in clinic on Sunday and it was awful. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes to be seen....not in the waiting area but in the room. While I could hear (walls are paper thin) patients coming and then leaving, at least five... My husband who was in the waiting room, after seeing people come in and leave asks if there was a problem. He was told she's still back there. I opened the door and asked if there was a problem, after an hour. So a mistake happened but the nurses or front desk never said I'm sorry, nothing. Someone had mistakenly deleted my name, I guess. So when the nurse came in to do a throat culture, no sorry...I asked what my temperature and blood pressures was, she replied, I am not your nurse, I'll find out. She never returned. I had to find the PA to ask him. It was such a bad experience. While I would give the Spring Ridge office 5 stars, it's difficult to even give one star to Solarex Ct. Office. read more
