Fishers Cafe reminds me of the perfect quaint breakfast spot in a Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas movie. This place is decorated from head to toe for Christmas, if not for the food just stop by to look at the interior. The windows have huge displays of Santa's and reindeer and the bar area is filled with nutcrackers. It really is a beautiful sight. Unfortunately, most of the 3 stars I'm giving them is because of their awesome decorations. The food was very lacking for me. My friend and I stopped in for breakfast because the place we originally had in mind was closed on Mondays. We were seated right away and I have to say they had some pretty great breakfast specials. The prices are incredibly reasonable. She got an omelette and rye toast. The omelette was fantastic but the home fries tasted like pork to me and weren't cooked enough. They also didn't have much flavor at all. I decided to try the stuffed French toast. It wasn't stuffed at all, rather blotted with a tiny spot of sweetened cream cheese in between what looked like regular toast. The strawberries were frozen so they arrived mushy on the plate and the nuts it was served with were stale and from a can. I definitely wouldn't suggest trying the French toast, stick to pancakes or waffles. There's tons of parking, it's located right next to a Walgreens. During the holidays I'd say definitely stop in to check out the Christmas decorations but it's not a place I'd go back to just for the food. read more

Don't ask for sunny side eggs , received them undercooked . Sent them back , cook used the flat top then put them in the broiler which made them hard and dry . They need a new pancake mix . Very rude staff , not caring at all if you are not one of their regulars. I came in this morning and ordered a very basic to go order - the rude cashier told me 20 minutes - I went for a walk and came back 25 minutes later - no food - no acknowledgement - I then politely waited another 15 minutes before I inquired where all she said to me was if you want I can cancel your order! It was my mistake to give this cafe a second chance , knowing how poor this cafe treats its customers , no respect , slow food that still comes out cold and soggy , tastes frozen but never defrosted , very few fresh ingredients, interior smells like mold - service is super rude the younger female cashier has the most sour face and worst Attitude - I ordered a blt and it took 40 minutes , under cooked bacon?! It actually hurt to rate this establishment so low. My family and I have been going here for years. You could always get a decent meal at reasonable price. What happened! We stopped in for a light brunch recently and noticed the difference immediately. It took forever to get our order, and when it did come, the fries were lukewarm and the roll left a lot to be desired. To make matters worse, when our bill finally came, it was double what I expected. The reason given was that costs have gone up. Needless to say, we shall not be going back. Went to eat here today with my family and the food was not good. My mother complained right away because the fries literally were disgusting they tasted like they were fried in 3 month oil, honestly McDonalds prob has better quality French fries, which is really sad because it's just French fries that's so basic how do you mess that up. Anyways, they took the fries away and offered us homefries which were basically just as bad or worse nobody ate them, they weren't even homefries they were just big chunks of fried potatoes with some orange sauce. They charged me $3 for the extra avocado I asked for which would have been fine if they actually put avocado in my order... The food didn't taste good either. The did not even offer to compensate us for the gross old oil fries, we didn't complain after that just left. There are so many better diners and cafes, try to avoid this one. read more

I needed some breakfast and while driving by I remembered somebody said fishers café was good, so I went and ordered the omelette supreme and everything was delicious!!! I gave it 5 stars, not because it's a 5 star restaurant but because it's a small business trying to survive in a big business world. I read the reviews prior to eating there everybody's complaining about the taste of the home fries & the french fries come on just nitpicking home fries are usually left on most diners and restaurant plates. All I know is that was the best $11 meal I've ever had and I can't wait to go back and have lunch some people just need to realize giving a bad review over home fries to a small business May make it hard for them to pay their rent and clothe there children, stop being so anal !!! read more

If you like a place with small town charm, this is the place to have a nice breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Service was friendly and the food and the prices are very reasonable. They serve Egg Cream Soda, which isn't really my thing but I know it's not something I often see on menus. They have shakes too, which is what I'm going to try next time with one of their Arlington Paninis (grilled chicken, pesto, roasted peppers, carmelized onions on focaccia bread). So the place is actually pretty cute. That's where the good ends. The service is the worst I've experienced in my life. I ordered a panini called The Asbury. Grilled chicken, eggplant, mozzarella and caramelized onions on focaccia. The chicken was tasty but dry. The eggplant was so heavily breaded and well done I could immediately tell it was a frozen cutlet. Also the description never said fried cutlet. My companion ordered the turkey Cuban Panini. Turkey, Swiss, caramelized onions, tomatoes and pickles. The sandwich had no tomato or pickle. (She's not a fan of tomatoes so she didn't care) but the pickles are a big part of a cuban. When we asked the waitress she said they only put it on by request. It didn't say that on the menu and we had just finished telling the waitress it was our first time there. Came here today after passing it while trying to find a diner without a huge wait. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table for 2. Food was decent - not really any different than your typical diner food. I can't speak for the lunch menu - we only ate breakfast. Found it strange that there was only one waitress and the huge table next to ours wasn't cleared away the entire time we were there. When I asked for the check, the waitress seemed to forget about us. Wanting to get home and catch up on some sleep, we went to the register and asked the waitress to ring us up. She explained that two people had called out today. That explained a lot -- Hopefully they are usually better staffed. The waitress did an excellent job keeping up with the crowd though seeing as though she was the only one working today. read more

Compared to what was there previously, this place is elite. Living in a small town that doesn't offer a lot, this place is amazing. It is exactly what you expect from a little hole in the wall place. The food here is great. Not once since they opened have I heard a complaint from someone about the food. Living in the small town where Fisher's Cafe is located, I know a lot of the residents. Not one have complained. Everyone I spoke to has recommended this place because of the reasonable prices, the quality food, the pleasant staff, and the portions of food that come on the plate. The parking is good, but the area can be slightly hectic at times because of the post office and Walgreens. Overall, I rate Fisher's Cafe one of the best places in town, that is within walking distance and fairly priced. If you are passing through North Arlington, visiting, or living here, I would recommend Fisher's Cafe over Arlington Diner all the time. read more

I haven't been here since they fist opened and back when they were good. Here is my experience today, I will NEVER go back, nor would I even recommend eating here. I stopped in with my son for lunch and we each ordered their cheeseburger melt, which is described as a burger in between a grilled cheese, a side of fries with cheese and gravy, 2 sodas and a chocolate milk. First to come out after the drinks was a bowl of gravy... I was a little confused because normally FF with Gravy and cheese has it already on it, but I thought maybe they give you extra.. I was wrong. Next was the burgers, these were by far the WORST burgers I have ever had!! Thinner than a fast food burger, which would've been an improvement at this point, it had a horrible after taste, actually it had a horrible taste all around. My son, who is 9 and LOVES burgers took 1 bite and said "This doesn't taste good, I don't like it" That should've set off alarms, but I tried it anyway. It tasted like old meat, if it wasn't old, then it was the cheapest meat that one could ever buy, but it was basically a combo of old and cheap. Now comes the long awaited "cheese fries" ...WOW, I didn't think you could screw up cheese fries with gravy, but yet. somehow, they managed to overdo screwing it up. They were shoestring fries with 3 or 4 SLICES of half melted cheese on top of it. It looked as if they cooked the fries, threw a few cheese slices on it and stuck it in the microwave. HORRIBLE.. The woman behind the counter came over and asked why we didn't eat the burgers, I told her point blank that we didn't like them and that they tasted horrible. She took them away and asked if we wanted anything else and we politely declined. The guy who took the order, NEVER came back to the table, NEVER asked if we needed anything else, and NEVER acknowledged us after we ordered. The woman behind the counter said the "guy" took the burgers off the bill, I said thanks but how about the fries? She said those were fine, I asked if she would like to see the comments on my facebook page that would prove opposite being I took a photo and posted it soon as they put that on my table, but she declined. My bill? $9.09 I paid 9.09 for 2 sodas and a chocolate milk because we didn't eat anything else. Not only do they have bad food, they have HORRIBLE ethics. You're really going to charge someone for food they didn't eat because they found it to be disgusting? You can't take 3-4 slices of non melting government cheese, nuke it, put a cup of gravy on the side and call it Cheese Fries with Gravy., but I don't think they understood that. Save your money, time and a TON of aggravation and go eat somewhere else, I was disappointed because they HAD good food, a huge emphasis on HAD. I couldn't believe they told me that they checked the meat and there is nothing wrong with it, those same people saw nothing wrong with their cheese fries with gravy either, and after I post the pictures of them you'll see why I wouldn't trust their judgment! Going by the name - Fisher's Café - I expected the restaurant to have some seafood as their special or famous dishes. To my surprise there were no seafood dishes on the menu. This place is similar to a diner or any other breakfast restaurant serving eggs and omelet throughout the day. Since I was unsure of what to eat, I asked the server of the famous dishes in here. Out of the 3 she mentioned I decided to try the Chicken and Roast Pepper Quesadilla. The quesadilla was served with a side of French fries. While the quesadilla have good stuffing of chicken and peppers in it, the fries were the frozen ones - certainly not that great. I think if they really want to attract customers, they should consider having home fries or hand cut fries. read more
