Ordee waffle with fruit a gyro and 2 egg platter with sausage hm fries... not once but 3 times i chew on something hard like plastic or shell .... I told the staff and they were very apologetic about it but the Owner had the audacity to bring back the Piece to me and told me it was probably my own tooth and that has nothing to do with the kitchen! Not a very nice thing to say! Wonder why this place its slow that kind Of approach is Bad for business! Ive been a customer here for Over 15 years missed the old owners! I really do not like to give bad reviews but hopefully the owner will see and it will help him We went at 530 on a Monday and we were the only people in the place which is not good for a diner on a busy road The waitress was nice but not very good We both ordered the early bird special with soup and she brought my friend her soup but brought me a salad I got the turkey dinner which was ok. But the mixed vegetables felt like out of a can It came with a dessert and we both wanted the chocolate pudding but they only had one Not something to run out of Then to top it off I was charged more than the menu said but did not want to fight about it I hope the place figures it out read more

Unfortunately, my food was inedible. We had a large party come in, they were only notified about 30-45 minutes before, and when I told the manager that mine was inedible (the meatball was incredibly dry, terrible flavor), he said "well we should've been told you all were coming sooner so we could prepare better." This was the worst food I have ever had in my life and the service was just okay, didn't feel that clean in there. I do not typically write reviews such as this, but this was despicable. Oh Meadowlands Diner, what has happened to you? I remember when this place was bustling at all times during the day. I would go pretty often with my family. But now it just looks like a shell of itself. I don't see many people there any more and it seems much more quiet. My daughter and I went to the Meadowlands diner on a Saturday evening for dinner. There weren't many people there and only one waiter working the entire place so service was pretty slow. Everything took quite a bit of time. The menus. The drinks. The food. And then the food wasn't anything to write home about. My daughter got the burger and I got a turkey burger. It was meh. I don't come to this diner much any more and it's too bad. Despite being the only people in the diner, it took them forever to bring the food, the soup was cold, they forgot stuff in the order and the waitress never checked on us but once. Haven't been to a diner since we moved to Florida. Had breakfast and dinner here while visiting for a few days. All good stuff, from eggs n toast to club sandwiches and coffee. Even a good burger. This is probably the saddest review that I will write. The Meadowlands Diner is by far my favorite place to go even when I am by myself. I am there at least once a week and today my mother wanted to take me out with my daughter for my anniversary since my husband is away and this is where I love to go. Not only was the service absolutely horrible and we waited so long for food.(and don't get me wrong. I get it that she was training someone) but the food was also horrible. I asked for Buffalo wings. She brought me out some dry, horrible flavorless wings. My mother and my daughter's burger were so bad that they didn't finish them and my mother is now sick to her stomach, which means that the meat was bad! Not only that, but I saw the waitress licking her fingers after making milkshakes. I have never been so disgusted about my favorite place. read more

Ok so we went one day on our way to an event at MerLife Stadium. They messed up the order but the food was pretty good. So today, on our way to the Giants game we stopped by for another take out meal. I will say they remembered us and made do on what they messed up last time. (Nothing major just omitted an order of fries). My husband had the Turkey club and it was very good. The fries were crispy and hot! But...... I had the chef salad and first of all the roast beef was completely RAW! Not rare! RAW! And then it was just lettuce and meat. No cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, anything! And this salad was $16.50! I've been here many times. It's always very good and always reliable. Today I came at a weird time -- 4PM -- just to avoid crowds (pandemic!). The place was empty and I had great service. So my son picked me up bteakfast as brunch and was very disappointed. The eggs and pancakes were okay but they didn't include butter which I like on my pancakes. The bacon which in the past was great totally sucked. DRY & Over cooked and I thought the meal came with 2 sausages as it had in the past which had been large and tasty sausage. Stopped in for a quick breakfast around 10am and had no problem grabbing a table. This is a typical NJ diner where the staff puts off the vibe of being friendly because they have to be. Breakfast is pretty hard to screw up, so no complaints there. We enjoyed the sausage that they use considering it is much different than traditional breakfast sausage patties. Went to a concert at the Prudential Center and went out of the way to this diner bc we heard it was good, there were two other tables seated when we walked in. They were going to seat us in one section, but the bus person said to seat us elsewhere because he was going to clean that section. No problem with us, we were taken to a different booth and were seated. And that is the end of the story, in the ten minutes we waited we watched the waitresses play on their phone. A table came in, was sat and had a waitress walk over within a minute. That's is when we got up and walked out, the host made a huh sound and I said sorry no one came over as we walked out. We've dined here twice. Our first time, the burger came out more well done than what was requested and the sliders were even tougher than that. However, my SO liked the chili burger toppings, so we found ourselves at Meadowlands Diner ready to try again. Clearly, that was a mistake as our last visit was a catastrophe! We arrived for dinner before 6 and were able to put our order in roughly fifteen minutes after. Then began our wait. We waited and waited. Other people who arrived after us were getting their food out already. At the hour mark, with no food and no updates, we followed-up with the waitress regarding our order. She apologized and told us that she knew how long we were waiting and that she had let the owner know. The owner was cooking our meal as we speak and that it would be another 10-15 minutes. After another 10 minutes, the waitress stops by to let us know that they haven't fired our meal yet. We finally left. Luckily, we arrived early enough so as to not be "hangry" about the 1+ hour wait, but it was a waste of time on a Saturday night out. With so many other Jersey diners in the area, why take a chance on Meadowlands Diner? We won't be back. read more

This is my second diner do the day and I am not disappointed. The restaurant is clean and empty but it is also 1am. The staff is pretty pleasant and there were only two patrons when we walked it. They were patient and had a few suggestions about the menu. A few televisions on the wall are playing law and order but it is not loud or distracting. Diners are historically known for breakfast food so I was a little hesitant about ordering the seafood. I am happy I did. We had the seafood platter and broiled salmon. Perfectly cooked, well seasons and great presentation. My only disappoint was that the crab cakes were made of imitation crab meat. Then again, I got a lobster tail, scallops, fillet of fish and scallops and crab cake all for a price of $21. So I can understand the imitation crab meat because a crab cake entree at most restaurants cost $25 plus. New Jersey law states that no alcohol can be served after 1:30am so we made it just it time. I have came to the conclusion I hate diners- They have the most fake, friendliest employees ever- I just sat here and listened to them bully people into tipping by speaking out loud- Cashier: (extra loud) You want to leave 15% tip or 18%. Feel bad writing this because I know people depend on their business but I can't recommend this place. The wait staff was very friendly but the food is not good at all. Their pasta (ordered for my kid) was awful. Sauce tasted worse than canned pasta sauce. The chicken burrito had no flavor. The place needs an update. NJ Diners are still alive and doing well. It has been years since I visited one. This diner located near Meadowlands connected to all the major highways up north. We had to stop here for a business meeting since there're no other good places open for early for breakfast in the area. The food we got was surprisingly good and the portions were large. They also have a liquor license and have decent amount of options as well. Good food, the wait time is minimal. The parking lot can sometimes be a problem especially on NFL Sundays, Jets or Giants fans usually stop here before the game. read more

This diner if I'm being honest, is a hit or miss. I ordered Buffalo wings and French fries marinara sauce on the side, the food taste itself was alright, but the Buffalo sauce and the marinara sauce could have been better, the Buffalo sauce had no spice to it, the marinara sauce looked horrible, but after tasting it, it was ok.
