No ATM's etc. There was a metal box it seemed, but I wouldn't deposit any cash into that. They need a better means of collecting the $7. maybe at the entrance? Maybe they are working on that. (smile) Overall, it was a great experience and I did catch some buffalo fish. My neighbors caught a nice channel catfish using cut bait.

In case you're wondering about which way to go on the trail, because it goes both north and south from the park, please please go north. We didn't know any better and decided to go south, figuring we'd go around a half mile, get to the end, turnaround, and hit the rest. Well, the trail now connects to another trail on the south side of 121. If you're planning to walk to the south end and turn around, you've got a long way to go. After a mile going south, we turned around. The south stretch (most of which isn't actually Taychas) isn't shady and honestly isn't that great. However, the north stretch of Taychas trail from the park was very nice. Much more shade and available trash cans (for throwing away dog poop bags you carried along your southern journey). Unfortunately, we ran out of time and didn't get to see the northern end, but we will...next time when we decide to go north instead of south!

You can't swim far since boueys limit your swim, but it's good enough to get some laps in. Set up a tent/umbrella, bring sand toys and lots of sunblock, then let the kids go crazy. There's also a really neat playground within walking distance and a walking trail. Plenty to do with the little ones. As long as your expectations are low, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I'll note up front that this review is for the Stewart Creek Shoreline Trail. The parking for the…read moretrailhead is just before the pay-gate to enter the rest of Stewart Creek Park. We did not venture further in, so I cannot comment on the facilities there. The shoreline trail runs back between the subdivisions and the lake, away from the park. I think you could just walk across the road and access a connecting trail that leads into the park; however, you might have to pay an admission fee even a a pedestrian. I do not know. We just followed the shoreline for a mile or so. The scenery is sometimes pretty along the lake and some of the homes / back yards can be interesting as well. We passed several individuals and groups during our walk. The trail is not secluded (often passing groups of homes) and seemed quite safe. If you are in the area and want to take a walk away from the traffic, this is a good budget choice.

The bost ramp is nice and located near the entrance. The restrooms are easy to access. The picnic tables and grills are conveniently located together and close to the water. I find time to walk around the park and enjoy photography of the wildlife while taking a break from fishing. The park is on the no wake zone of Lewisville lake marina. Enjoy!

It's nice but be careful of the poison ivy and fire ants. It's pretty here, some of the spots are…read morenot great. Others are very pretty. Our spot smelled like sewage at times. This spot really shouldn't be rented out. No concrete pad, mud, fire pit is under low hanging trees, poison ivy encroaching on site and fire ant mounds.
