I'll note up front that this review is for the Stewart Creek Shoreline Trail. The parking for the trailhead is just before the pay-gate to enter the rest of Stewart Creek Park. We did not venture further in, so I cannot comment on the facilities there. The shoreline trail runs back between the subdivisions and the lake, away from the park. I think you could just walk across the road and access a connecting trail that leads into the park; however, you might have to pay an admission fee even a a pedestrian. I do not know. We just followed the shoreline for a mile or so. The scenery is sometimes pretty along the lake and some of the homes / back yards can be interesting as well. We passed several individuals and groups during our walk. The trail is not secluded (often passing groups of homes) and seemed quite safe. If you are in the area and want to take a walk away from the traffic, this is a good budget choice. read more

I cannot believe that I have forgotten to review this park. I have been coming to this park for over 30 years to spend the day fishing and signing for bait. The bost ramp is nice and located near the entrance. The restrooms are easy to access. The picnic tables and grills are conveniently located together and close to the water. I find time to walk around the park and enjoy photography of the wildlife while taking a break from fishing. The park is on the no wake zone of Lewisville lake marina. Enjoy! read more

The spot was amazing! Clean and beautiful. Parking was available to where you can park right next to where you are setting up. They have grass vs dirt and the water is walking distance for swimming, or an area for fishing, boating etc. They do Charge $15 for non residents of the city for those that plan on making the drive. They have a playground for kids to play, camp grounds and RV areas. read more

I ride my bike and walk around the lake almost everyday. It is a great and nice place. And the two guys that run the park do a great job keeping it a nice and clean park. This is by far my favorite area to enjoy and relax. It has a walking trail, campsite, beach and beautiful scenery. Being a resident I get to enjoy this daily and especially on the weekends. Non resident individuals are able to visit and pay a fee. There are special events throughout the year as well. Great for picnics, romantic couples or just to relax and soothe the mind. Very windy campsite. Not a good place to stay over night unless it's a perfect day. The weather was is the best this time of year. The lack of trees to block the wind is very noticeable. Very clean campgrounds but the lack of attention on the fire pits are disappointing. Probably should bring your own fire ring. Don't even think about chopping any trees down here. It is short supply on those already. Being close to my house, I thought we found a hidden gem, not the case. Better views outside of the park than in the park too. Good day trip spot if you don't mind swimming in this lake or killing time on a playground. Camper friendly but needs work on the true experience of glamping. read more

This really is a hidden little gem of a park. I came here to 'proof' my new tent as it was relatively close to where I live in Frisco - strangely enough I was hoping it would rain overnight which would have suited my purposes- however it didn't but that was ok. The park is very clean and I saw maintenance people several times, cleaning up and making sure that things were ok. The staff were very friendly and I felt sure that if there were any issues that they would have been only too happy to help out. The only two drawbacks that I could see was it is on a flight path to DFW and there was plenty of aircraft coming and going overhead but it didn't bother me overmuch - the only other thing is some really inconsiderate folks with boats on the lake seem to have a pissing contest with how much louder they can play their rap music in competition with other similarly rap playing boats - it was like an Olympic event. Personally, I don't particularly object to the expletive laden lyrics (although some families with kids might) but I did kind of take issue with the volume it was being thrown out at - that put a kind of a kink into what otherwise would have been a really idyllic late spring evening. The sunset over the lake was lovely (see pic) the ants are, I'm guessing kept under control here which, if you've been to the horrendously expensive Hidden Cove Marina, they aren't. To summarize this is a very nice, well maintained park - great for camping or fishing - good park play areas if you have kids - well marked trails - and good value for money. This place was nice last year and the park attendant was on it to keep everything in tact. This years park attendant just seems like they do not care. There's groups of 50 people gathering under a pergola, grilling, getting into other people's faces from other groups just because they're drunk. Very loud music bumping from all areas with nobody telling them to turn it down. It's a very trashy crowd this summer with no real policing. read more

I almost don't even want to tell anyone about Stewart's, but here it goes... In terms of a park, Stewart's Creek is ok. You can camp there and get a view of the back side of Pier 121 Marina. The real gem here is the boat ramp! They have 3 lane boat ramp that is OUTSIDE the park so boaters like myself can get on and off the water 24/7. Very handy. There is also a modest dock to load/unload passengers. For less than $60/yr this is THE place to launch and recover your boat on Lewisville on that side of the lake. read more

I love this park! I will admit my stars may be biased due to the fact that I live so close, but this park offers everything I'm looking for. I come here all the time on foot, on bike, by car, for lunch, for events, etc. They offer a boat ramp, designated swimming area, fishing, camping, RV parking, pavilion, BBQ/picnic areas, volleyball, playground and more! I come through here at least once a week because it's a great natural escape. If you drive in you are required to have a pass. They don't always check but technically there is a fee to enter. If you plan to make repeated trips, buy the annual pass. read more

I took my dogs there for the first time and we loved it. It was peaceful and not as crowded as Arbor Park. We went on the trail that is on the left off the parking lot before you enter the park. read more

This park was nice, good facilities and lake. We went tent camping and had all we needed and the price was fair. The downside here is the proximity to 35 and being in the airline flight path, both of which are noticeable but not overly bothersome. We didn't find a lot of nature trails (non-paved) and that was the biggest "issue" we had. Very populated, every spot around us was full for spring break. read more

Very poor conduct from the staff. It was my first time going and it will be my last. I have made sure to pass the word around and to look for a lake soneplace else. I was given warnings due to my dog being leashed to my table instead of me holding hay m, one of the staff members kept checking numerous amounts of time trying to find reasons to argue with us. After the third time I addressed the matter and asked if we had done anything wrong to be treated this way. He kept asking if I was arguing with him and mentioned that if there were problems that he had the liberty to kick anyone out without proof. We were there for 2 hours and decided to leave.Save yourself the time and money and do not come here.. read more

Great swimming beach with easy launching of kayaks, etc. Really clean and well kept park with bathrooms, covered pavilions and a great sand volleyball pit. Not obnoxiously crowded nor overrun with the party crowd either. So glad to have found it! read more

Prior reviews were spot on! What a gem! Went this afternoon and braced ourselves for over crowded swimming beach and lake. It was not! Got a covered table even though it was almost 2pm. Was able to enjoy excellent swimming area as well as easy place to put kayaks in. Very clean, well maintained and patrolled by The Colony authorities. Will be going again. The $10 fee for mom residents was a bargain. read more

Nice spot but 7 or 10 bucks to enter by car? Area is open with camp spots, bathrooms, a large marina and lake views. They're is a natural trail and the kids area is very nice. Several slides, walkways, areas to climb etc. Guess if you spent all day the fee is worth it but based on that not so much. read more
