They saved my vision…read more I went to my regular eye appointment at 2:00 pm. Dr Corredor, OR with Terrezza's office compared my photos of my eyes that they had just taken & then compared them to last years. That's when he immediately said "this doesn't look right to me". Dr Corredor, OD immediately referred me to Retina Specialty Institute. Because of the severity of my right eye, they got me in in less than 30 minutes. He took care of me so well. So I then arrived to Retina Specialty Institute statute. I waited less than 10 minutes before they called me back. According to Dr Ahmet Ozkok, MD, It turned out that my right eyes's retina had torn/detached in a horse shoe type pattern. I believe he said it was 80% detached. He immediately did a type of laser procedure. He made sure to add numbing drops first. And when I cried, he would stop and calm me down. I cried because apparently I'm just a baby! He has a wonderful bedside manner. I may be older - but I was still so scared. He gave me very specific instructions and the staff stayed late because of my procedure. Everyone was so very nice & patient with me. Dr Oscar Corredor, OD (Terrezza's Optical) and Dr Ahmet Ozkok MD (Retina Specialty Institute) saved my vision. Because this happened late on a Friday afternoon. Had they not cared about me - I would have ended up in emergency surgery over the weekend. I love both these doctors and I know you will too. I trust them both with not just my vision but with my life. These two doctors worked in tandem to save my vision. That is why I decided to put them both in each of their businesses.

Get your eyes checked by the doctors; trust them with cataract surgery. 5-stars for the doctors,…read morenurses, receptionist, and other surgical help staff. My dad is a long-term patient who routinely gets his eye exams by Lake Eye. The doctors caught the forming cataracts and monitored until the cataracts needed surgery. He's had one surgery and is awaiting the other. Everyone was very patient with his nervousness and all my after-care questions. Avoid Sharon who helps pick out frames and arranges making the glasses! Go to the Tavaras location instead. The good thing is she isn't high pressure or concerned about making sales. However, She doesn't listen. First, she insisted that my broken glass frames, which were not purchased there, were under warranty even though they are not. I told her lenses under a year old and frames were over 2 years old. Second, she insisted I replace them at the store I got them instead of just giving her the prescription and paying for new glasses frames ($215) and lenses. She could not understand, because she wouldn't listen, that I only had sunglasses as a backup and needed my regular glasses to read, drive, and work (even if the ear piece was taped). I told her I didn't want to drive down to Miami. She snottily replied "have you never heard of mail". Now, how is that suppose to solve my problem as I would be without glasses for a substantial period of time especially using snail mail?Totally disgusted and frustrated, I sat down in the waiting room to await my dad. While I was waiting, an elderly couple came into see Sharon explaining that the husband had scratched one of his transitions lens badly and wanted to purchase a replacement lens or have the scratch buffed out. Sharon explained she could not buff out a transition lens so the couple attempted to order a replacement lens. When Sharon was told that he had an appointment at the end of November, she told them it would be less expensive to wait for the new prescription. The wife explained again that he couldn't see and the scratch was causing headaches. Sharon replied it would be cheaper to wait and told them to go home and reconsider their decision. Looking befuddled, they left. Really?!?! My elderly mom who in her southern belle way was quite well dressed for the doctors wandered over to the glasses area. Sharon was all over her immediately with trying to sell her something. Maybe my mistake was the jeans, boots, and well worn comfy shirt, and the couples mistake was golf shorts, polo shirts, and tennis shoes?

Dora were awesome as was the staff at The Villages and Leesburg. I am 71 years old and have worn glasses since I was 7 years old in Elementary School. When cataracts affected me where I shouldn't be driving, I made the appointment and opted to have my stigmatism corrected with the cataract removal. Dr Panzo and the Mt Dora office staff spent the time on each visit to check my eyes, map and keep records of my eyes and what was needed to eliminate the cataracts and the stigmatism. The two operations were successful and my vision is now 20/20. I would recommend Dr. Panzo and the Mid Florida Eye Center to anyone looking for either of both of these procedures. Thank you, Dr Panzo and the Mid Florida Eye Center Staff. Rick McCurry

With this input, I hope to regain my trust in the opticians' services I have been using for years. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased two pairs of glasses; in one pair, the frame did not fit tightly around the lens. I came twice to report the problem; unfortunately, each time there was a long wait, and the optician advised me to come back at 8:00 AM when the office is slow. Following the advice, I arrived at 8 AM, an optician assistant, showed up around 8:10 AM. I asked about the opticians, and the assistant told me they were both running late. The optician assistant offered to take care of my glasses and, upon examining them, optician assistant announced that the frames are ok and, if I want, she might warm up the eye glasses frame, which might tighten the grip on the frame on the lenses. That solution did not make any sense to me and I 'sinsisted on seeing the optician, who showed up around 8:25 AM and told me that, indeed, the eyeglass frame is defective, admitted that she had missed inspecting it, and offered a replacement. Clearly, the optician assistant was incorrect in her evaluation of the frame. If I had not questioned her judgment and kept the defective frame, I would have missed the 60-day window to report the problem with the new glasses and would therefore be stuck with the defective frame or incur expensive repairs. I feel that the customers returning defective product should be a priority bypassing the waiting line. But if that is impossible and instead optician suggests to came at 8:00 AM to avoid waiting then logically an optician (at least one of them) should be be in the office on time, right?! Also, the opticians' staff at Ocala Eye at Laurel Manor may consider maintaining professional standards of healthcare workers which may include using the phrase "I am sorry" when appropriate.
