On a trip back to visit her, she picked up a one day guest pass for me. Matt, the manager, told us not to worry about it and said he'd let me train there for 5 days instead of just the one. Nothing was ever signed. It was a guest pass, not a membership. Fast forward to now: my mom is going through her credit card statements and realizes Matt quietly signed me up for a real membership without either of us knowing. She's been charged every single month for two years, her membership and mine, and neither of us ever agreed to that second charge. When we called Matt out on it, he said he had no idea what we were talking about and wasn't willing to fix it. Over the years I brought 7 people into this gym, family and friends included. Every one of them is a mistake I'd take back. Pull up their BBB profile before you sign up, the complaints there tell you everything you need to know about how this place handles billing. We want every dollar they took without our consent refunded, and if that doesn't happen we're prepared to go to court over it.

I made the plunge and joined Equinox a few weeks ago. After coming here for a few Yelp Events, and…read morebeing that it's close to home, it made my decision an easy one. Although pricey, it's worth it! Let's start off with the amazing customer service I've received. I had the pleasure of meeting Brett. He is a Membership Advisor. He messaged me to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. My very first day as a member he showed me around the the gym from top to bottom, corner to corner. He even offered to take a class with me if I didn't want to take one alone. He is super friendly and funny. He continues to say hello to me BY NAME every time he sees me at the gym. That's amazing that he remembers my name considering how many people he sees and interacts with at the gym every day. Now Christopher (I believe that's his name) works at the shop at the gym where there's clothes, gym bags, and other accessories. When you become a member you get 20% off your first purchase at the shop. So...I took advantage of that! Christopher was patient with me as I looked around the shop. So many choices! Some of their brands run big...so I was happy that I was able to buy a smaller size than I normally would. Christoper helped me pick out some things and even showed me a super comfy sweatshirt. It's a men's sweatshirt...but it's the most comfortable sweatshirt I've ever worn. Comfy and warm! Brian, the manger is also super nice! I had a long conversation with him on my first day at the gym. It was so nice that he took the time out of his day to speak with me. He also greets me by name every time he sees me at the gym. As a new member you get a complimentary Pilates session. I took mine with Jacqueline. The Pilates session is in the studio and it's just you and the trainer. Jacqueline was very patient with me as I've never done Pilates before. She showed me how to use the machines. She also taught me that Pilates isn't just body movements...but it's about your mind as well. Which is very true. We even laughed! Who laughs when working out? That's what I thought. You also get a complimentary personal training session as a new member. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy. She is wonderful! She understood me and my goals. She was patient and answered my questions. We also laughed a little. Again, who laughs when on an 10% incline and 3.5 speed on a treadmill?? That's what I thought! I felt so welcomed as a new member! Besides the "Welcome" email and "Welcome Packet" I received, I received a hand written welcome card in the mail, and another welcome card in the mail. I can truly tell the Equinox cares about their members. On to the gym... SO many machines for cardio and strength training! I've never had to wait for a machine. One of the things I like about the machines is that they have internet. I've enjoyed watching YouTube videos to get me through my workouts. You can even access Facebook, Google...and a ton of other things. You can sync LoseIt and other apps if you use apps to calorie count or to keep track of your food intake. There's also WiFi at the gym...so you can bring your iPad or other device and watch Netflix as you work out! I am guilty of this! :o) If you aren't sure how to use a strength training machine, don't be scared. During my tour of the gym, Brett mentioned there is always staff on the floor that will show you how to use them! Don't be shy...ask them! Locker rooms... I can't speak for the men's locker room, but the woman's locker room as everything you can think of. Hair dryers, straighteners, razors, tampons, mouth wash, hair gel, shaving cream, shower caps...etc. There's also a filtered water filling station and a digital scale. Everything you can ask for! Now the showers are wonderful. Kiehl's shower products are like a dream. They smell so yummy, and have me feeling refreshed. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash. The showers are nice and hot! AND... eucalyptus towels!!! Smell so nice, especially after a sweaty workout! What are you waiting for?? GO workout at Equinox!

Ironically they don't care about the customer. A health club membership (Especially those on the higher end!! is for those of us who want to be healthier, improve our lifestyle, endurance, and how we feel. Its a pandemic and the company should be welcoming any and all business here versus complacency. I understand everyone's on a cell phone. When I brought it to management's attention, I was told this member had multiple complaints logged against her. Even though the member did not deny she put her hands on me, I was told repeatedly by management that the gym does not "take sides". How is that acceptable? I have to say this is one of the most troubling customer service experiences I have ever had. It is sad that I had to cancel a membership I very much enjoyed because the gym does not seem to care if a member feels safe and comfortable. There are certain members of this gym who are abrasive and think the rules don't apply to them - they're disrespectful to the instructors and do things like save equipment for their friends when that's against the rules. I always ignore their behavior but when it becomes problematic on this level where another member feels uncomfortable, it should be addressed with more than just a "talking to". On the positive side, Rosemary is a phenomenal instructor and community-maker. I loved taking her classes. Karen was my personal trainer and I would highly recommend her for anyone considering training. I also loved Mike Thompson's spin class. I will miss those three instructors as they're great assets to the gym. I will not miss the turning of a blind eye to bad member behavior just because it's inconvenient.

Only the managers can fix this. The first time I asked, the manager fixed it, but then the next time I came in the volume was way up again. It's uncomfortable to repeatedly ask this and the managers aren't always there, anyway. Why such loud music in that area? Please lower it. The other areas are very pleasant! I hope you will fix this! Thank you!

24 Hour Fitness is a bit of a misnomer. As one employee explained, "It used to be open 24 hours…read morebefore COVID." Current hours are 5 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and 6 AM to 8 PM on weekends. Check-in is quick and easy with fingerprint scans--no need to use your phone or key tag. The lockers are programmable, so you can set your own code instead of bringing a lock. The facility includes a co-ed steam room and sauna in the pool area, continually monitored by a lifeguard. The British Swim School also operates here, offering swim lessons for children, youth, and adults. A gender-neutral restroom is available as well. The gym's app rewards members with points for joining, checking in, and reaching fitness goals, which can be redeemed for hotels, events, and merchandise. Overall, the gym is well-managed with attentive staff and a solid maintenance team. My rating is average only because the locker rooms could be cleaner and several fitness machines need repairs.

I don't know where to start, in the beginning it was fine for a while and I spent at least$15,000…read moreworth of training sessions one on one and then the trainer well let's just say he was definitely Went another direction when he knew that I had a lot of money and I wasn't afraid to spend it or in conversation talk about it. Most of the time he kept to himself but when he had other issues at home or whatever He brought it to work. But regardless of that I wanted to get my son in for training also, So I let things go and I wanted to train myself as well as time to time with another trainer. So I was away in Florida my son had a aortic tear and had to be taken to the hospital and then menavact to another hospital for emergency surgery while I was down in Florida I can't tell you how I felt. So he couldn't make some of his appointments anymore obviously. And he literally just started I bought a two year commitment that they talked me into especially after I have silver sneakers so I don't have to pay 4 Anything other than my training sessions for me. So we both had and still do medical conditions that unavoidable. The First year was back and forth with them because the doctor said he would be out of Commission for quite a while. I requested my refund for him at that stage and they jerked us off the guy Douglas New Hook never even a phone call back I called him 20 times if I called him once. So now almost another year goes by I am fully taking care of him so I can't even think about writing a review no less a letter to the corporation which I have not. As I said before I am not strapped for any money but what is what no business should ever do and disrespect a customer without even a phone call. I received one email from him stating that I would need a letter from the doctor for anything to happen to get him reimbursed. Which was done within the week. That was it no other communication other than that which was sent back to him And he did nothing At ALL... So it gets worse 11 months go by I'm still taking care of my son and he has another aortic tear not knowing what it's from or anything else like that So he had to go in for another emergency surgery now work into the second year and coming or actually we are in the third year and no correspondence with this guy at all. I don't know what to do other than get the word out that do not sign any contract for any length of time whatsoever and do not believe anything what goes on over at the Northport 24 Hour Fitness. It's quite evident to me that this guy could never run his own business the way he deals or should I say does not deal with any customers when there is a problem. I am now going to shoot this out to every other review people that will listen and understand or at least try to In the meantime my son is still in recovery and for I don't even know Neither does the doctors because he keeps having repeat episodes of certain things. I guess since I finally have some time to write something I'll send this over to after this goes out for a while and see what and if they do anything we are owed I believe 4 or 5 training sessions as well as the entire year that was prepaid in advance, you know how they push you to get these specials that are only on for one week Bunch of crap that they try give. Let's see what happens
