So the next day I shambled into Bastion School of Fitness. Upon first entering I noticed the equipment and facility itself was very clean and looked exceptionally well kept. There was a class going on in one corner of the building that looked especially intense. I was excited to start my fitness journey here. I walked to the front desk and was greeted by a friendly face who helped me through the details of packages, and signed me up for an introductory private lesson with the head coach. A 1 on 1 session to gauge my physical ability and to set a goal for myself. I was thrilled. I had my private session with James Carino. At first he seemed like a nice guy but something felt off, I just wasn't sure exactly what. He took me to a room in the back that he said was designated for "special clients". We would start with squats to get the blood flowing. He would walk around me gazing up and down my body, especially focused on my "gluteus maximus". At first I thought he was examining my form. Then I thought maybe he was judging my body, which I would understand being a 290lb man. But no, this was a different look, it was a look of longing. He then placed his hands upon my hips and approached me from behind whispering "lets get deeper" as he guided me towards the floor. The rest of that night was blur of passion, but the next day my glutes were pretty sore, so overall good workout.

I took…read moreone month membership, for myself and my sons. and I told Tom that I will see for a month and if I can continue I will let you know. at the time of signing he assured me that they don't have any hidden fees or cancellation charges, there is no contract I can stop any time. he made me sign a form saying that is only for credit card payment. My membership expires 12/11/2021 and I informed him that I cannot afford it and I won't continue, he replies saying that you have to give a 30 days notice and you will be charged for the next month . when I told him that this is what we discussed and agreed he sent me a copy of that form saying this is the contract you signed and it says here that you need to give 30 days notice, I told him you made me sign that assuring me it's only for the credit card payment and I already told you that I will see for a month. He still charged my card, he is not a man of his words. we never even got the 30 minutes free session coz he was always busy and I had told him that you let me know when you're available so all 3 of us will do the session together so you don't have to remove time separately for each one of us, he never bothered to advise. and then he pulls this trick. I am very disappointed and suggest you take everything in writing from this man as he is not a man of his words.

He has been coaching long before crossfit existed. His experience is way beyond something you can get in a weekend level 1 certification. In my time there I have come a long way from being very uncoordinated and out of shape to a decent athlete. Chris and all the coaches are still teaching me everyday. I just bought their Groupon which consists of a month of unlimited classes and I am so excited to…read morego back! I've taken two classes so far and this is the best workout I've ever gotten. (I mean that seriously, I feel sore sitting down haha.) I'm 24 years old and am not totally new to exercising (I used to swim, kick box, cycle and run every so often) but since gyms closed and everything shut down I've gotten a bit out of shape. The owner Dom is really nice and explained everything so well! The other trainer Jay is also great. They're both super patient with newbies and do a fantastic job explaining what goes on in class and how to do each exercise. They're also quick to provide modifications if need be. The gym is super clean and each member cleans their equipment before and after use, and the trainers clean as well. Members also wear their masks during class and you have to reserve a spot to ensure proper social distancing measures. I highly recommend this gym if you're looking for a new, good workout!
