Love Fit Defined! I have been working with Victor over the last month and my main focus was to learn how to properly workout, have correct form, and build endurance. I had no previous experience with weight lifting and didnt know proper form for ANYTHING. Before starting I could only do about 5 minutes max on the stairclimber on the slowest setting, im now able to do 35 minutes on level 4. Before I could barely do a standard squat, now I am able to squat with a barbell with correct form. And before, I had never done a step up in my life, and on our first session I needed assistance to get through doing 8..... today I did 100 with no assistance, all of this in just a little over a month! I haven't had a one on one personal trainer ever. So I was apprehensive about paying so much money for one. My goal was to become stronger and have better technique so that I could eventually do it on my own. So now that you have the background story, here is my review: I started with Victor in May. I went to him for 2 months and what I can say is that in just 2 months, I feel stronger and feel more confident in how I lift and all around workout. Victor was attentive and made sure that I was in the correct position and made sure my technique was right. However, it wasn't pushy where it made me want to give up. When he saw me struggle, he gave me the motivation I needed to keep going. When he knew my energy was low, we would do exercises that still pushed me, but kept it within or a little above my energy level for that day. Typical day for me (which may be different for other clients): *Cardio for 5-15 min (I liked to come in early to get a longer cardio in) *4-5 different workouts-depending on the day it would be 4-5 sets of 12 of each workout (again could vary on the day) *Rests in between Awesome and friendly staff. Laid back, but motivating. EDM music all around, except for Freestyle Fridays! If you make a music request, they'll hook it up. Most important thing I liked was that they were clean. I would see him clean up the equipment after I used it which put me at ease knowing that my face wasn't just on someone else sweat. Like most Exercise Programs, you need to put the work in...if you don't, you wont get the results you want. I have done my research before choosing Fit Defined. I been through many different personal training orientations and trust me no one gives you the BEST orientation then Fit Defined. When you first attend Fit Defined's orientation for general information, the trainer will get your measurements and then they ask you for your purpose and goals and then they'll give a complimentary 40 minute workout. I loved it because you kinda get sneak peak of whats to come if you sign up. I've had over 8 orientations with personal trainers different gyms and none them even do that. I been with Fit Defined for about 5 weeks and I love it. I been training with Victor and let me tell you, Victor knows his stuff really well. If you are like me and haven't worked out in years then he'll show you the formations of each exercise. All of the trainers at Fit Defined have the same mindset and training methodologies. After trying to lose weight by myself for 1 whole year last year with no real progress I decided to look into personal training. I am a client who also suffers from PCOS so losing weight is very difficult for me. After reaching out to a few personal trainers I got into contact with Victor from Fit Defined. And let me tell you it was the best decision I've made. Victor is a great trainer, he works with you and challenges you each session. There is no such thing as an easy session. When starting I was under the impression I wasn't too unfit, I mean I was going to the gym 5 days a week and running my ass off and lifting weights here and there but boy was I wrong. I definitely wasn't strong, cardio wise yes I could do but it wasn't enough. Victor is very patient with me learning the proper form and he does not hesitate to stop and fix your form during each rep. When i was struggling through reps he would kindly tell me to push and that I could do it. He also taught me how to count my macros and checks my food log each session. I've been training with Victor for about 2 months and have lost 18lbs. Working on my last 2 lbs before my 2nd set of sessions are over (our goal is 10lbs each 12 sessions). This place is awesome! Been coming here about 6 weeks now and I just signed up for another round. I've had several personal trainers through the years and these guys are amazing. I'm not in the best shape (yet!) and my trainer Brian Q is very encouraging! Not to mention they are always cleaning the equipment before you use it. This is one on one training so there's never a bunch of people there during your sessions which are a full hour. They will take your temp upon arrival and they have hand sanitizers available too. The prices are very reasonable and in my experience are lower than most personal training places. This is a long overdue review... Prior coming here, I was already in this weightloss journey and was able to lose 40 pounds on my own. However, after a few months I hit a serious plateau and my weightloss came to a halt and I was not budging for a couple of months. No matter what I did - increase my workouts or change my diet, the weight was no longer dropping for me. I was frustrated and decided that it was time to seek for help and the proper assistance to achieve my weightloss and fitness goals. Not going to lie, it kind of took me awhile to look for a personal trainer or facility where I can go and trust their services and are willing to work with my goals and schedule. After humbly reaching out to various businesses on Yelp, Fit Defined came through and was actually one of the top choices that I considered. I stated my whole spiel of why I was reaching out and Victor was very understanding in my situation and invited me to come in for a fitness orientation the next following day. I felt welcomed when I first walked in and did not feel any slight judgment or intimidation from Victor or any of the other trainers. What made me consider Fit Defined was that if there is someone who is all in and committed to work with me, then I too am all in. So glad that Victor was attentive to my goals since day one and we've been dream-teaming since. It's been a couple of months and with all the immense progress I have made and done thus far, I can't thank Victor enough. I noticed that I've become more mentally and physically stronger. There are times of weakness, struggle, and complaint but Victor is very encouraging and patient with me. Though there are times when I would hate Victor so much, I'd always appreciate how he challenges and pushes me to the point where he knows I am very capable of doing that I have not discovered or accomplished before. It's insane how many personal fitness records I have broken in a short amount of time and I know it'll improve as time goes by. To make things fun and interesting, they all bring up some friendly competition and challenges to hype up our drive and hit some serious records and results - gives us a feeling of some comradare and community. Also, they do allow cardio to be done here in conjunction with off strength training days. Helps a lot since most commercial gyms are still closed. For Covid guidelines, they all keep the gym clean and are attentive to wiping things down and making sure things are sanitized as much as possible and assure to wear face coverings, having limited people in the gym, and social distancing. We all joke and laugh here and there, so it is never a dull or tense atmosphere and it makes the workout seem less excruciating. Just know that the amount of sweat you break and soreness is real when you workout here, but the results are very, very promising! Just finished my first workout with Lee aka Lawrence. I have been training with him on and off since he was the top and leading coach over at Chuze fitness in Garden Grove. When he left, his clients were saddened but I'm so happy that I'm able to get back in shape with this guy! He don't sugar coat shit and will always make sure you get one hell of a workout. I worked with Brian in the summer of 2019. The prices were reasonable at Fit Defined and worthwhile if you just aren't seeing the results on your own. Brian was great. He gave me health and fitness tips to last me to do it on my own, especially since I don't live in the area and I live in NYC now. I used to train with Victor Tran until he started canceling my sessions last minute. Victor was a really good trainer in the beginning but he started getting really aggressive during the workouts as our sessions progressed.. In fact, when he "spots" me, he gets uncomfortably close where I don't have much room between my body and his. It happens to be during the times we are working out legs, especially glutes. I have always been intimidated by lifting weights/gyms, and was very hesitant at first to step out of my comfort zone. I've been training with Anthony for about 3 months. He is extremely knowledgeable about physiology and body mechanics, something I have not experienced with other trainers before. Honest review-- Only great things to say about Victor and his gym. He's always trying to better equip the gym with new machines. He's very approachable and understanding, but pushes you to work hard. After my first complimentary session, I was sold! The gym itself is very nice, private, intimate and clean.
