I really wanted to learn more about strength training because I'd never done it before. Victor helped me understand that I needed to increase cardio to build my endurance. He also pays attention to form and posture, which is what I was missing from workout classes I'd done before. I could barely do 10 minutes of cardio when I started, and three weeks later I'm now doing 60 minutes on stair treadmill! I'm also noticing changes in belly fat and have higher energy during the day. Ryan is an amazing trainer. My husband and I have been seeing him for the past 6 months. You would think once you learn everything, you would be done. That's not the case for us! We are still learning and there's more we can improve on in regards to our strength and mobility. He caters the sessions to my specific needs and teaches me how to fix certain conditions such as my mobility. He's very attentive to what I need to focus on. So what makes Ryan so great? He's not one of those trainers were they pressure you do more weights when you can't and eat less calories where you're not enjoying your food. He understands every body is different and life does interfere with festivities therefore the goal make change. He will push you do more if he knows you're capable of doing it. Of course, you're supervised. He checks in on us to see how we are doing throughout the week and if we are doing our homework which is usually watching videos on form and how to improve. Before weight training, I used to do a lot of pilates, yoga, and barre. I was seeing results; however, I knew I had the ability to do much more. In my younger days I was very active in competitive sports up to college. Swim team, Sport Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Soccer, Tennis, you name it. Over the last decade, my profession has been taking most of my time along with my social life and I didn't have time (or make time) for my lost passion of sports. I was also worried about getting back into the grind and tearing an ACL or breaking something because my mind thought my body was still 25 years old. I knew I had to do something about getting my body back in shape and my traveling and diet at home and on the road (See my foodie pics and you'll understand. Lol). Then I noticed that a friend was seeing a personal trainer and it was easy to see the results. He lost 70+ over the course of a year of training and strict diet. I was pretty apprehensive about going to a PT since I was jaded by an athletic past but you know what... that was the past. I made the decision (well really I was coerced into it) to sign up. Victor is an amazing person. He's supportive, goddamn hilarious and knows he's stuff. His workout usually focus on 75% of stuff I don't like to do and that's ok because you have to push yourself to get results. There is no easy way but having someone like Victor to guide you to a better you is a must. My strength training is showing real results. I've increased my weight training probably 30% since my first week and it's only been 5 months and have made small adjustments to my diet (wonder if there's a way to block people from my Yelp! feed...). I was interested in looking for a personal trainer so I decided to give yelp a try, and this business was the first one to show up and it happened to be 5 stars! There are many positive reviews about this place so I decided to come in to get a personal feel to it. When I walked in after calling, I noticed everything was all close together it looks like a hazard, but victor was very nice so I was still thinking of giving it a try. But when I had left, without signing up (bc I wanted to see more options), I got a text saying it was victor and that he wanted to get to know me more. I like working out with Victor because he's very patient and his energy level is perfect for me. I'm not a big fan of exercise so my attitude always sucks but Victor always has great energy and not too pushy. I've been going to his gym since December 2020. I was so nervous when I first met with Lawrence at Fit Defined, as i had never had any Personal Training before and didnt know what would be expected of me. Hands down the best personal trainer in all of OC. I've always considered myself pretty fit having played water polo and soccer in high school and inter mural at college. Victor is the freaking man!!! He charges cheaper rates along with great sweating!! The old gym I used to go to overcharged me with an insane price for an hour with no muscle results or soreness at all they would literally charge $70 a session and you wouldn't feel a difference of getting stronger. Every time I workout here doing personal training not only do I feel lighter but I also feel stronger and sore. I've been training with Victor for about a month now and I'm very glad I made the decision to join! I've always been shy when working out at regular gyms because I never know how to use any of the weight machines, but with a personal trainer he shows me exactly how to use it and corrects my form if needed. I also struggled with being consistent with working out, but Victor keeps me accountable and makes sure I show up to each session. He also switches up the exercises to keep it interesting and explains which muscle group we're trying to target. His exercises are tough and I always feel like I'm dying at the end of each session, but I always feel so accomplished when I'm done. Also with COVID, the trainers take our temperatures when we arrive and wipe down each equipment before use. This gives me peace of mind knowing that they're taking as much precaution as they can.
