Since the new owner has taken over 2 years ago its gone down hill . Shouldn't even be named fit for a queen anymore. The new owner doesn't even know how to run a consignment store. You never know when it will be open since she just works when she wants to. Expects people to shop with the lights off because she doesn't want to pay the power bill. Took a great business and it's name and ruined it. She will preach to you about how well her 3 stores are doing and how she is southern oregons first plus size model. Tries to hard to sell herself to her customers all of her grand plans. Maybe focus on 1 store so you don't have 3 that are failures. read more

For the ladies who post these negative reviews about the new owner and her daughter. You ladies have no idea what this team does to go out of their way to keep that store open. 1) The owners daughter is a SENIOR in high school & happens to play a varsity sport - so as being a mother you'd expect her to go show support for her kid, and for you mothers bashing her that is simply pitiful. If her kid didn't have a sport you'd know full well she'd be at that shop, but by all means if you want the store open why not apply for a job there ? 2) Those of you who complain that she had no checks, I was in there a time and there was 5-6 consignors all getting checks and one of those ladies happened to get the last check, as you know checks can take up to 3 weeks to order depending on the bank - so it's NOT her fault and shame on you for bashing her for something out of her control. 3) Those of you saying the "prices" are too high, the make offer/bundle buy is the nicest thing on this planet. It was my birthday & I went in there just to look and no intention of buying, the owner with her daughter had told me happy birthday, given me 3 bags of clothing and a nice new purse for my birthday. If you were a little nicer to them they probably would kill you with kindness- They have a free Rack of clothing that is constantly giving to EVERYONE. 4) Those of you who complain about how the store is RUN, it's not their fault that they had to learn from scratch how to run it. I give a thumbs up to the daughter who took time/effort to try and learn the POS system; elucidate those who worked there to use it. To top it all off, I was in there one time when this lady flat came in was so Rude to the owners daughter and made her cry afterwards because she was like some of you. If some of you ladies are truly negative towards the store then maybe the store will be better off if you never step foot in it again. read more

!! If zero was an option I would provide that rating!!! I consigned at Fit For a Queen for years before it changed hands. I enjoyed the store and appreciated the fair, honest, clear cut business I experienced working with Jacquie. I am above and beyond irritated with the way the business is being ran under the current owner. When I first found out the business sold (July)I went in to touch base and collect my earnings. The new owner and her daughter both were working. I was told by the owner she didn't have checks to pay me with. I wanted to collect the inventory I had in the store. Numerous items could not be found. After long marry-go-round conversation of why I should let my clothes stay, her other stores, he success as a plus size model, her clothing line and so on I think she could feel I was irritated (I am normally a patient, understanding person) with the entire experience. She wasn't able to navigate the store POS system so I was provided a business card with $25.00 credit hand written on it. The next month (Aug.) I went in again. Still no checks! I decided right then I was just going to find clothes to just clear out the money on my account and use up the $25 credit she had hand written on her clothing line business card. I had my two young children with me so it was a chaotic visit. I had planned on just stopping to get a check on the way home from grocery shopping not shopping for clothes. I knew in my head I had calculated my purchase to be right under what was owed to me. I was told if it didn't have a tag or a price it was $5. Well. Between my toddlerSss wanting to grab all the jewelry and her endless relentless discussion about how well her three stores were doing. And her being the first plus size clothing line in S.Oregon....my Head was spinning and I just wanted to go. Somehow I ended up paying $9.95 with my credit card. I loaded my kids in the car and realized I just overpaid. I should have actually still had credit coming! I added all the items and sure enough. I went back inside argued pricing and showed her the math. And. Again. She didn't know how to work the system in order to put the money back on my card. I was not happy. AT ALL. But she did scribble out the $25 credit on the previous business card and hand wrote $50 credit. I went in today and made it clear I was using the $50 credit she had provided the month before. She went on and on how well business was doing. How busy the store had been. While I was searching I told her I had found numerous items without tags under the sign that said price as marked (and the ones that had tags and were not previous consignments prices were outrageous in comparison to the stores previous prices) She told those were store owned and she could "work" with me in price. As I shopped an older woman came in with her daughter. I heard her ask if the store had changed hands. She was looking for a purse. When she found one, it of course didn't have a tag. The owner replied with...make me an offer. This woman was probably 75+ years old and didn't enjoy the game. The daughter compromised a $10 price. Fair. The elderly woman then stated she had an account and would like to use her credit from previous consignment. She had $20 something on the account. She asked them if she could be paid out for the remainder amount owed to her. Guess what the owners response was??? That's right! She didn't have checks! The woman asked since it was such a small amount couldn't she just give her the cash. The owners reply was she didn't have enough cash in her till. For $10 something dollars???! What if she had paid cash for the purse with a $20? The two women left irritated to say the least. My turn to check out. 2 of my shirts were still owned by consigners. I was told I would have to pay for those if I wanted them. And now the items were $10 each. Including the Walmart shirt (Terra and Sky T-shirt) that was probably that price new at the store. Rather than wasting my time arguing with this woman I took the items I could on store credit knowing I would absolutely never return. After 3/4 months of not having checks and not being able to operate the system are not valid excuses. I feel this woman is putting off payment to consigners and gives them the run around intentionally until their clothes belong to the store so that she never has to pay anyone. Shopping without legitimate pricing seems shady and/or lazy. Needless to say I do not recommend this business nor will I ever step foot in there again. read more

Fit for a Queen really is fit for a queen..ME, and anyone else who has a more ample figure! What a dream come true, and Jacqui is soooo much fun, she makes the clothes buying experience what you've always hoped it would be; the store is comfortable, with a visiting nook, good prices, great dressing rooms, the customers are all like new friends, and lots of cute clothes just your size! Also, I almost forgot! You take all your clothes that you don't absolutely love and consign them with Jacqui, rack up a buncha credit and go shopping again! She's the only store in the area specifically for "Queen" size beauties...I feel so pampered with Jacqui and her girls helping me look for just that special thing, and giving me 2nd and 3rd opinions, even from other customers! I have an amazing time every time, do yourself a favor and go see what I mean! read more

If I didn't know any better, I'd think this place was out of business. But alas, it's still in open. I used to LOVE to consign at this place. So much so that I continued to consign even after I moved a few hours away. Unfortunately, though, things have changed. I saw online that I should be expecting a check so I called. And I called again. And I called again. No one answered the phone. No one returned my voicemails. So, on my next trip to the area, I went down a day early JUST so I could be sure to go there on a weekday and walk into the store. Nope. They were closed. It was 4:30. Business hours on the door say til 6. So they won't answer the phone and they're not open during business hours, apparently. I walked into the consignment shop next door to ask what was happening and that's how I confirmed that they were still in business. So, if you have no intention of being able to get ahold of anyone or go to the store, then sure, this is your place. But if I were you... I'd go somewhere else. read more

Hate to share my secret with other yelpers but this place is a real gem for size 14 and up plus size ladies who like finer labels and quality used clothes. They have a 75% off rack in the back corner of the store and I always find items I like. Also have continuing increasing discounts from 25%-75% on other items throughout the store. Please understand that the clothes are priced well to start but who doesn't like an additional discount. Not limited to just clothes as their accessories (purses, shoes, belts) are also a bargain. I am sharing my yelp find, but please leave me some things to buy. It is a consignment store but have never taken ant items in although may have to clean out my closet for more items. I love this store, but not to mention the rack outside! I tell women I know who don't know about this store! All women who like to look nice and comfortable in your skin go here. They make feel special. How many older women remember when large size clothes were hard to find? I am talking out the "70's"!! I have been overweight all my adult life and it is so hard to feel nice when you don't look nice. Do you remember the large prints in polyester, oh my goodness!! Fit For A Queen has stolen from my mother, a formal loyal buyer and seller, twice now. I will be assisting her in pressing charges immediately. My mother started shopping for nursing scrubs at Fit For A Queen several years ago, and eventually began placing items there on consignment as a way of thinning down her (expansive) closet. In November of 2013, she placed several high end purses there - Coach, Dooney & Burke, etc. One purse in particular, a Dooney & Burke, caught the eye of a shopper. The store contacted my mother several times to ask her to discount her asking price; she kindly refused, as the purse was new with tags. When my mother returned from her travels to collect her waiting funds, she found that the purse had been sold, against her clear wishes, at a discount - to an employee of the store. Given her past positive experiences with the store, my mother decided to overlook the accident as just that, and give Fit For A Queen a second chance. In July of this year, she took two large rubbermaid containers to the store, along with a copy of an inventory list of what she was dropping off, and placed approximately 25 purses in consignment. A few weeks later she left town again to travel for several months, but her plans were cut short due to health issues. When she returned to Medford to pick up her check with Fit For A Queen, she was told she only had $3 in store credit - despite every single one of her purses being missing from the store. After demanding an explanation, my mother finally received a phone call from the daughter of the store's owner, who admitted that they had no idea where my mother's merchandise was, and that it was simply "lost." Their solution? A $100 in-store credit. Nevermind the fact that the original retail value of merchandise was approximately $1500 - even at Fit For A Queen's 40%/60% seller's rate, my mother would have received several hundreds of dollars CASH, not trade. My mother is very fortunate that she has a dated copy of her inventory, that the store admitted to taking possession of the items - and that she has a certified AP-credentialed daughter with media contact on every major newspaper in the state of Oregon. But I feel bad for the numerous other people that this store is ripping off, as evidenced by their increasingly poor reputation in the valley. I'm not one to air public complaints, but the store and its owners had every opportunity to do the right thing and admit mistake, and they chose otherwise. I hope anyone who thinks of doing business with these people in the future strongly reconsiders. read more
