For whatever reason (besides COVID), our OSF schedule didn't involve coming out to Jacksonville. So on our recent sojourn here, Carefree Buffalo was our fist stop (weird downtown traffic patterns permitting) was Carefree Buffalo. The nice selection of pricey and amazing made-in Oregon William Henry knives are still here, as are a nice section of ones from Santa Fe (New Mexico) Stoneworks. Of course, there's more than knives here, and they'll all nicely displayed and waiting for you to pick it up or ask about it. I ended up buying a cool (and cheap) utility knife, which pretty much kept me for spending more money. After all, I had to behave myself as Gayle was watching. :)

It was my birthday & I went in there just to look and no intention of buying, the owner with her daughter had told me happy birthday, given me 3 bags of clothing and a nice new purse for my birthday. If you were a little nicer to them they probably would kill you with kindness- They have a free Rack of clothing that is constantly giving to EVERYONE. 4) Those of you who complain about how the store is RUN, it's not their fault that they had to learn from scratch how to run it. From my perspective, Earthly Goods is a very attractive store that consists of a main floor and 2 mezzanine areas. There were also a couple of nice "male seats" available along with reading material. So I was interested to visit the new 'costume shop' in the Railroad District that opened this summer to see what they had in stock. Renaissance Rose offers a variety of themed costumes you can rent or purchase. They have packaged costumes similar to what you'll find around Halloween at other retailers, but also some more interesting pieces. At this point their website seems to be pretty basic, so hopefully that will expand in the future. After visiting both stores, I think the main location still has the broadest selection of items for purchase. Especially wigs, hosiery and accessories. But, if you are looking for a more unique rental, then the costume shop is worth a visit. I was most interested in the hair pieces near the back of the shop.
