Let's be honest, moving day is a beeyach. It's grueling and exhausting and stressful. Derrick and his team elevated what could have been a HORRENDOUS day and made it a success. How? Well, for one thing, they are all GREAT at what they do. But equally as important, they seem to take actual JOY and PRIDE in their work. They are playful with one another, they joke around, sing, dance. Not in a way that seems unprofessional or that they're slacking, but in a way that lightens the tone and mood of a very trying day with infectiously buoyant spirit. Backing up a few days, Derrick really bailed me out of a tight spot, when my prior arranged company let me know suddenly that they would not, after all, have a lift gate truck available for my move. Say what now?? Um, buh-bye. (My husband has several ridiculously heavy tool boxes, making a lift gate truck a must.) Derrick was available on short notice, less than a week. To save time for me, he based his estimate on the prior company's written household inventory (which they took during an actual video walk-though of the house, so you'd think they'd have nailed it), which... as the hours on moving day wore on and on... turned out to have been very misleading. Derrick and his crew never complained, even as the day wore on past 6 hours, past 8, past 10! (I did provide them burritos at some point, and a neighbor brought pizza for my husband and me, assuming the move was over...which we gave to the guys, who were SO grateful and appreciative.) The move took 12 hours (and still my hubs and I would work 2 more days and nights to get all the smaller stuff moved ourselves). Our new house was less than a half-mile from our old one, thank goodness. Derrick and his team made two full-load trips. The whole team (there were 4 of them) were just wonderful to work with, and I would recommend them without hesitation. They were careful, respectful and FAST! What can I say? After 10 years, I had a LOT of stuff, so even though they are very quick and efficient, it took us that long. We also had some monster pieces, like those tool boxes, as well as a massive 4-drawer file cabinet FULL OF FILES, and my elliptical machine, which of course had to go up stairs. My spouse and I used Fit Movers for our recent move from Bakersfield to San Diego. Tammie, the scheduler was quick to respond to my request, even on a Sunday, she managed to schedule an in-person estimate for the very next day. Derrick, the CEO, personally came out to my home to quote me, even though he had just had hand surgery and probably should have just been at home recovering. He was lovely, professional and took pictures so he could give me an accurate quote that included a "not to exceed" price which really helped ease the whole stress of moving. On the day of our move, their regular truck broke down before they were scheduled to arrive and they pivoted super quickly and got a new truck before arriving right on time still, notifying me every step of the way. A team of the three best dudes you will ever meet (Anthony, Lamont, and Dominique) loaded up their truck in two hours flat. They carefully wrapped all our delicate art and furniture with blankets and shrink wrap before loading the truck neatly and strapping it all down. They arrived about an hour and a half after we did, meaning they took care to drive gently and unloaded the truck in about an hour. We even had a 30-gallon capacity glass aquarium that arrived in perfect condition! I won't hesitate to call Fit Movers anytime I need moving services and I highly recommend them! We cannot say enough amazing things about Jason and Antony from Fit Movers! From start to finish, they were professional, kind, and incredibly helpful. When every other moving company either said no to our job or tried to charge us over $1,500 just to move our couch, Jason and Antony stepped in without hesitation and truly went above and beyond. Derrick's team worked very fast and they were very helpful. They took extra care with our furniture and if there was a concern then they would ask or reassure us about the concern. They helped position furniture in the locations that we wanted and were very patient with us. They also placed boxes where we requested and made sure that we were happy with the work. The only reason why I gave a 4 star review was because one of our glass shelves slipped from their blanket and shattered. They apologized and were embarrassed that this occurred but they cleaned it up. We let them know that it was okay and that we were more concerned if they got cut or hurt. Luckily, no one got hurt and they continued working hard as they unloaded the truck. I did one final walk through of all of our large furniture and noticed that the glass shelves were not in place, they had realized that they forgot them at our old apartment which we luckily still have it till next week, so my husband went to get them and they finished up and once done, waited till he got back so that they can install them. This was my first time using movers, so I had plenty of questions throughout the process, and Kim Thomas was always polite, patient, and clear whenever I called. She made the whole experience feel much less stressful and helped me understand what to expect. The moving team, Anthony and Derrick, were also fantastic. They arrived on time, ready to work, and brought great energy from the start. My move was from Bakersfield to Sacramento, which made for a long travel day, but they handled it like pros. They came up from Bakersfield, CA. to Tehhachapie, CA.(approx. 50 miles) on time to move and clear out our storage unit where my wife had stored all of her belongings from out of state in starting a new life with me to our current home. This moving company is the one to hire! We had our belongings moved out here in a ABF pup trailer but soon found out that it would not be able to come inside the gate to unload. I called FIT MOVERS and spoke with Derrick about our dilema. He was willing to hop aboard and get the job done the next day. He brought his own truck and he and his team of 4 transfered all our belongings into his truck and then up 19 stairs into the apartment. They were all very friendly, courteous and respectful of our belongings and home. They moved the heavy furniture into place for us without complaint and got the job done in approximately 1 hour for a two bedroom apartment. I would definately recommend FIT MOVERS again. Anthony and his team arrived right on time. They were very courteous and professional. The move was performed efficiently and with great care. I was initially nervous about getting my piano moved but they reassured me by showing me pictures and video of their past piano moves. Anthony and Lamont explained every detail of how the piano would be transported and brought it up the hill to the new residence effortlessly.
