Went in for my class one law enforcement gear and did not follow any of the specs given from our departments listing. I had to go into academy with a uniform opposite to my classmates and was heavily reprimanded as a result to the poor embroidery. When I asked for any potential resolution or potential refund/credit, they dismissed my complaints and said "the academy director is wrong." While getting guidance from my supervisor and academy director on the required SLEO set that every cadet had besides me. The uniforms are unworn and I had to purchase another uniform with United Uniform who was kind enough to follow up with my superiors to discuss my issue and the solution they had to provide me a uniform to fully attend without being at risk for being dismissed. Unfortunately the manager does not wish to take any accountability and instead has chose to vocalize her issue with my situation through online review rather than contacting my superiors who would be glad to inform the store of the specific requirements. I was really hopeful for their candor and attention to detail however the manager clearly did not wish to help. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went to this store today, horrible customer service. Standing around for 10 mins, not one person spoke to myself or my fiancé. One male literally walked passed us 5 times and never said a word, someone will be with you in a moment, nothing! Fit Rite commonly known as Fit Wrong is less than 1 star. Their constantly out of stock on common uniform items. It takes wayyyy too long for sewing/alterations to be completed. Understaffed and terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and never go there, find another place to do business. read more

So, when my place went to a new uniform, I ordered 4 long and 4 short sleeves. So they cut the sleeves on the long sleeves because I needed them quick. I've had nothing but problems with them, wether stitching was falling apart or they forgot to do something. Blue line uniform in Rahway is the way to go. read more

Since I first reviewed Fit Rite, they've come along and have been able to provide the level of service expected from a public safety supplier. The staff is helpful and dedicated to helping those that serve thier communities. There are no prices marked except for overpriced boots and they refuse to scan any barcodes because they make up their prices at the register. I've been going to fit-rite for about 2 or 3 years years now for all of my EMS apparel and I've always left happy. I've bought a radio strap, 2 duty shirts, one dress shirt, 1 sweat shirt, patches, and a bunch of small knick knacks among other things from them. All of those things are starting to show some wear (which is to be expected) but I'm still using them today. I had a sweat shirt made at a different place prior to going to fit-rite and it only lasted me about a year before the printing completely faded and the pocket stitches began to rip. The sweat shirt I got from fit-rite has just started to have the pocket stitches rip after almost 2 years of using it and the printing is still completely visible with minor fading here and there. There have been a few times were I would be waiting for a few minutes before getting some help, but that is because their staff seem to be busy assisting other customers. Their staff (especially Sean, ask for him when you go) is extremely knowledgeable and know exactly what you need. It's a small business that serves a lot of customers so of course there is going to be a little wait, but their knowledge and quality is worth it. read more

Only been there once. Called ahead as I was going to arrive 5 minutes from closing time. The person on the phone was very nice. They told me it would be fine as they were helping out a bunch of academy recruits. When I got there it was still busy. **academy season. Store is small/medium size but it has a lot of supples and variety of uniforms. I got what I needed(belt keepers lol) to make my uniform complete for national night out. Long story short, damn keepers tend to disappear. Auxiliary. I started looking around and spending time "window" shopping adding to my wishlist. The store is efficient with its size and everything is categorized/organized. Items from my knowledge are priced like any other uniform store. I don't live nearby but if I would definitely come back if needed. read more

We walked in weren't greeted-completely ignored. Stood in the middle of the store for 15 minutes, sales people looked right at us and said nothing. While I realize that they had a few customers in the store and clearly they were servicing the DOC recruits there is no excuse for not even acknowledging us. A simple "hello, we will be with you shortly" would have sufficed. Needless to say we kept our money in our pockets and left. read more

I been here a couple of times and each time I have been here it's a worse experience than the last. Yesterday I came to the store while at work because I work long hours and by the time I usually get off it's always closed. I bought a job shirt and pants and they said they couldn't embroidery the sweater for me because the person who does it is not there. So I said ok and explained to them it's really hard for me to come to the store because I work a lot. The owner then ensured me that if I come the next day which would be a Saturday that they would take care of me. She said as long as you come before 4 we will do it. I said ok I will try to get to the store tomorrow before closing because there is no other day I can do it. I called the store Saturday at 3 p.m and let them know I'm 3 mins away and just making sure they will still do it they said no because we just got 4 police academy students who need our service. I'm like what are you serious so after you guys promised me and I came all the way here you won't accommodate me. He said no because the new recruits need our service. I was in disbelief because that is not how you should do business!!! Fit Rite has the worst service possible I would never ever spend another dollar at this business.
