If I listened to every instruction from the teacher this morning, I would've caused more injury to my back. Yes, the teacher said loudly for all to hear: "Emily, look up in this backbend"... at one point.. LOL. (If you live with disc degeneration in your spine, it does not mean you cannot take Yoga classes... It means you have to be extra careful and gentle with your spine, every day/follow physicians orders).. Everyone is different, but I was a competitive gymnast and I've experienced enough injury in my day... Not looking for any more! Listen to your body...and most importantly, listen to your PHYSICIANS, not a yoga teacher who knows nothing of your injury history (I think her name was Alice...). Bikram Yoga is a unique method, I've been to many Bikram classes elsewhere - but this Chino Hills studio never fails to fall into the category of inappropriate.

Chino Hills Pilates, formerly My Pilates Studio, recently opened it's snazzy doors to the public. Housed in a new location, the facility is gorgeous: two levels, spacious for floor exercises and a section for reformer work. There's even a comfortable sitting area for those waiting for the next session. I have been a member for over a year, and I cannot stress enough how rigorous these workouts can get. I crossfit which involves a lot of explosive type movements and exercises. Well the focus of Pilates is the opposite, full body control and core are its underlying principles. You find yourself shaking to maintain a complex holding movement. Your fatigued muscles will burn at every rep. You'll probably quietly curse at the instructor for making you work so damn hard, but in the end, and I promise you this, your core and your extremities will feel ridiculously tight and toned. No bulk, just year-round bikini body. As if the intense workout isn't reason enough, yoga is also offered here as part of the membership. I do know that they offer free intro sessions as well. So why take advantage of something new to wake up that body? Don't be fooled by the seemingly slow pace and don't be intimidated either. The atmosphere is positive and friendly all the time. All the workouts can also be modified so there is no one who can't enjoy pilates. Oh yeah back to that location thing.., They are also located right across the alley from Crossfit Chino Hills where muscular men walk around shirtless and sweaty all the time. Just a bonus, I know. It's a cute little place for kids with a lazy river, three slides, a toddler area, and a wave area. I was excited to find somewhere that was a little more convenient and purchased 3 season passes. Unfortunately, we were only able to use the passes twice. When I originally asked the girls working at the front desk about the schedule, I was told that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. Based on that information, I felt comfortable purchasing the season passes because I knew my other kids would be coming back from vacation and we would have plenty of opportunities to use them. That ended up not being the case. The park was closed multiple times for private events, and then the schedule changed. I eventually called to check whether they were open and got a voicemail saying that they would now only be open on weekends until Labor Day. I emailed the park because I was disappointed and explained the situation. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like they were very helpful. I was basically told that the calendar had been posted since the beginning of summer and that it was my responsibility to check it. The problem is, I didn't even know there was a calendar to check. I was given information directly by the employees at the front desk that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. If someone had told me, "Our schedule can change, so please check our online calendar before purchasing," I absolutely would have done that. In fact, if I had known the actual schedule, I probably wouldn't have purchased the season passes in the first place. Because of the closures, private events, and schedule changes, I was only able to use my pass twice and couldn't use it when my other kids returned from vacation, which was the whole reason I purchased the passes. I think it's a cute little water park and could be a fun option for younger kids, especially if you're looking for something smaller than the big water parks. But unfortunately, the way this was handled left a really bad taste in my mouth. I completely understand that schedules can change and private events happen. What I don't think is fair is telling customers one thing when they're purchasing passes and then essentially telling them afterward that they should have known to check a calendar they weren't aware existed. I'm sure three season passes aren't going to make or break the business, but as a customer, I definitely feel like I got screwed over for simply trusting the information I was given by the employees.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

I signed up in Jan and did a full month of workouts and was starting to plateau. It's very upsetting putting in so much work and then your body tells you anything to stop. After years of yo-yoing, i decided it was time to get a personal trainer. I got a call from Jake that evening and he invited me in. We sat down, weighed in, and calculated how much i would need to lose and to be healthy. It was an easy process, but a scary one. In pen and paper i saw how bad i was. Although he said i could have been worse, it was a huge wake up call for me. He then asked what my goals were. i told him the basics. 1. to lose weight. 2. to tone up. 3. to learn how to workout for future progress. and 4. to be healthier in general. He then set me up with Matt. Matt must've saw something in me because without time passing by, i was back in the gym for my first workout. My one workout with Matt was the equivalent of the full month i had spent without him. It was crazy to feel how much he could pump into one hour and how much of a sissy i would be trying to drive home. But "THAT" is exactly what i had asked for! It's been 8 sessions so far with Matt, and i have another 8 on their way! i am excited and determined more than ever because i have biceps now and can plank for longer than 10 seconds. i can easily go above and beyond my own expectations now, as of before id hammer out 20 push up and drive home satisfied. Nu uh, not anymore! i am doing 50 push ups daily, easily, and even more while in the gym! What makes this the best experience is the time you spend with your personal trainer. Matt knows me enough to push my limits and knows when i need to breathe; or if i am asking a silly question so i can hear him talk and i can steal some extra breathing time. I have not ever done the same workout twice, which keeps things fresh and exciting. He has an answer for everything and sets me up with homework for the week so i come back even more prepared. i can't tell you (whoever is reading this) enough- GET A PERSONAL TRAINER! Above and beyond; the staff and facility is great! even when I'm drenched in sweat, in on a day off from training just trying to knockout some "homework"...Jake and Matt still find the time to stop by and check up on me. The equipment is nice and constantly cleaned and again, you can't go wrong with just a $15 per month membership. Even if you don't go for 4 months...its the cost of 1 month at 24hr. read more

I've been a member of Fitness 19 Chino location for over 2 years. Today me and my two brothers were discriminated against by store manager Darlene. I arrived a few minutes before the gym opened, Darlene unlocked the door and me and my brothers walked in. I asked for the key to the yoga room to workout and listen to the music like I do every time. Darlene got an attitude with me and said she will open the room when she finishes what she's doing. We sat in the front quietly and when other customers arrived we all stood in the front waiting for the same room to be opened. She told everyone else to go ahead and workout but singled me out, she started arguing with me in front of everyone and I told her not to talk to me that way . I told her that shes displaying poor customer service.She called the police and told them "three black guys were asked to leave and won't go", she said we were arguing with her, my two brothers didn't say a word to her the entire time we were there. Once the police arrived they spoke with me and Darlene then allowed me to workout, I was so upset that I couldn't focus on my workout routine. Me and my brothers left feeling publicly humiliated. I have never experienced racism at this capacity. I brought my brother from la for the first time and this is how he was treated.I will be contacting the local news and seeking legal advice from my attorney. I am a minister of the gospel and do a lot of community work, this doesn't sit well with me. this is a very poor representation of your companys brand. there were several onlookers that witnessed the unfair and unjust treatment we received today. please look forward to my lawyer comtacting your legal team. words cant express how humiliated we feel. I tried gym with a pass I received in the mail. I spoke to Asst. Mgr about getting membership. As we discussed more about membership, fees kept popping up in our conversation. I asked for them in writing so I knew what to expect. He didn't have anything to give me. I told him I would check website for a disclosure of fees. He said he didn't think fees were there. After checking website, it does not disclose fees. So I cancelled the new membership process within 5 business days by signing a form. I was told I was not going to be charged. Six days later, I checked my account and my account was debited. I called Fitness 19 and was told to speak to J---- I called back when J----. He told me to take my cancellation form into gym to verify because it was not on their system. Why would I need to go back in if I went in to cancel. He could not explain. I get charged on the 15th of each month. I cancelled my membership on the 18th due to the weekend and was told that I had the month I just paid for plus one more month that I had paid for in advance when I signed up. I then got charged again this month! I called yesterday and was told I would receive a call from the manager Al when he got in at 10:00. I never received a call. I called back today and Al answered the phone. He then proceeded to tell me that because it was 2 days after my billing I would have to pay for another month and there was nothing he could do about it so I asked to speak to someone above him and he then told me that he is the District Manager and there was no one above him but the owner and he does not speak to customers. Can you believe this????? I am so glad I am done with this Gym. The only time they care is when they are signing you up! I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! read more

Charged for a membership I didn't use, or was unaware I had. They took over Crunch accounts and I informed them my account should be closed. They couldn't access anything with my information. Both fitness19 confirmed I don't have an account with any of my information and both locations said they should be able to find me. Upon asking for a refund, the GM said he can't do anything about it. He even told one of the representatives to tell me to contact Crunch, even tho Crunch is permanently closed. Just very unprofessional, unaccommodating, and the worst customer service. Felt more like they cared about money vs. the experience. Also, I haven't ever used a fitness19 membership. I was absolutely unaware I even had a continued membership from crunch. Crunch didn't explain everything to us. Fitness19 didn't care. read more

I have to start off by saying THANK YOU FITNESS 19 CHINO for staying open! Its been great to work out the last 6 months. The place is great and even making it bigger with more of a weight room. Thank you for that! I see a lot of complainers on here about people not wearing mask. Stop being brain washed by these politics telling you what's good for you. If your scared, stay home! The gym is really clean and and know their in construction but that's it. I cant believe how many people bitch about the stupidest things on here. Great job Fitness 19 Chino! fix the damn air conditioner in the workout room! why is this even a question? it has been almost a month of danny saying someone is coming out. he doesn't give a damn about safety, health or his customers. attitude of i already got your money so you don't matter. the damn room is 80 degrees and this is the only place they hold classes. people are literally getting sick in classes from heat stroke. someone is going to die! no one here cares!!! this is crazy. fix the damn air conditioner!!! who wants to work out in 80 degrees? read more

Definitely one of the best gyms I have ever been to! Great environment for working out along with the best customer service anyone could ask for. Employees are excellent workers, along with the trainers as well. This place is also a great way to get away from the outside world and just live in the moment, that being my workout! I love Fitness 19 on Mountain Ave. I would highly recommend this gym to everyone. It is very clean and the manager is very dedicated to making sure everything is always in order, spotless and working properly. The equipment here is always dirty and the customer service is down right horrible. But don't just take my word for it. Read the other reviews. And look at the distribution of 1 stars...it's over half! Yes, more than half of all the reviewers have given this place 1 star. That should be very telling to anyone considering whether or not they should try this gym. Basically save yourself the hassle and don't do it. read more

I recommend you come here and see Danny, I started coming to this gym at the beginning of the year and thanks to Danny i stayed motivated and since then ive lost 30lbs. Now I come here everyday and the people and equipment are great, Danny is always hooking it up with different tips and exercises for free, he was even able to get me a deal on start up. I had never tried Fitness 19 until recently. I'm normally pretty iffy about trying new gyms cause I'm a man of habit, however, with that said, Anthony made me feel like I had been a member there for years. One star - I have never had to leave a yelp review. Utterly disappointed, this gym does not enforce masks at all. Multiple people CHECKING IN with NO MASKS in front of the manager who does nothing. Have reported this business to the state officials to be inspected. For proof of this, simply go and walk into the gym and you will see it. read more

This gym is friendly, welcoming, and clean with all the equipment you need to get a good workout. I never have to wait for a bench or a machine. Turned out they had two accounts of me. This is my updated review "I just learned that 'Christian' is the General Manager of this location. Honestly, as amusing as is this, explained a lot. As a small business owner, this entire situation is mind-blowing to me. Mistakes happen in every business. Billing errors happen. Miscommunication happens. What should never happen is a manager speaking to a customer with disrespect, constantly interrupting them, blaming them, and refusing to take accountability. If one of my employees treated a customer the way I was treated, they would be facing serious consequences immediately. Not because a mistake was made, but because of the attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for the customer experience. What I experienced felt less like customer service and more like a membership collection machine. I called because I was physically injured and unable to use the gym. I was told by another employee that I was not being charged anything and that everything was fine. Based on that information, I believed the issue had been resolved. Months later, I discovered I had continued to be charged. Instead of taking responsibility for the misinformation, I was blamed for not checking my bank account often enough. The most shocking part was being told that I should have been checking my bank account every day. As a single mother running a business seven days a week, I found that response insulting, dismissive, and completely disconnected from reality. One bad employee can hurt a business. A General Manager can define it. I hope the Regional Manager reads this review because this isn't just about a billing dispute. It's about how customers are treated. accountability was nonexistent, empathy was nonexistent, and the focus seemed to be on collecting fees rather than resolving a legitimate concern. I genuinely liked this gym and intended to return once my shoulder recovered. Instead, I canceled my membership and will never return. Christian didn't just lose a customer--he permanently changed my opinion of this location and the LA Fitness brand. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about my experience with LA Fitness in Chino." I suffered a serious shoulder injury and have been going through physical therapy. Since I was physically unable to use the gym, I called to freeze or cancel my membership. The employee who answered looked up my information and told me I wasn't being charged anything and that everything was fine. Based on that information, I believed the issue had been handled. They had two accounts of me based on where I lived and the number I changed. No further questions or concerns. Months later, I discovered I had continued to be charged approximately $40 per month. As a single mother working seven days a week, I don't review every transaction every day, and I trusted the information provided by LA Fitness staff. Afterward, Christian called me to discuss the account. Instead of listening to what had happened, he repeatedly interrupted me, spoke over me, very rudely and said it's illegal if I record. I didn't. and became argumentative. The conversation felt more focused on defending the charges and convincing me to keep paying than understanding why I had originally called to freeze my membership due to a legitimate injury. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of accountability. I was given incorrect information by LA Fitness, continued to be charged, and was then blamed for not catching it sooner. When I asked Christian what he would do if he were in my situation, he told me he would check his bank account every day. That response was dismissive, unrealistic, and unhelpful. I never asked for anything unreasonable. I wasn't trying to avoid paying. I simply wanted to temporarily freeze my membership while recovering from a serious shoulder injury. Instead, I received misinformation, continued billing, and poor customer service. LA Fitness may have a good gym, but customer service matters too. Also anyone knows how to deal with this situation let me know. This Christian had promised me a $40 refund and then he took it back. If I want to freeze I have to pay $10 anyway which was also okay. But his attitude poked me and I feel humiliated so I decided for that I would pay for the fee and walk away forever. Also, this is the gym that's in for your money. Please be careful.

She told me that she went to this gym for a competition and said the owners were really kind and the gym was really nice. She sent me the Instagram link and next thing you know I'm signing up for a trial class. For my trial class, I was nervous since I did not understand the WOD board and I don't know much about form. But the coach, Al, was very kind and told me not to worry since he goes over each workout before we start. The gym is very clean and organized. I was greeted by the members, which makes it less intimidating. The workout was tough but everyone goes at their pace and there's no judgement on how your doing. After my first session, I was so comfortable and enjoyed the workout, that I got my membership right after the class. I never in my wildest dreams thought i would enjoy working out and actually be disappointed missing a class due to my schedule. I've learned if the coach isn't pushing you, the other members are. This makes you want to do better. If you had any questions, the coaches are very approachable and helpful on form. They are also informant on what each workout works out what part of the body. I've been going for a month or so for 4 days a week, started a healthier diet, and I already feel so much stronger and better about my body. I can't wait for a year to pass and see how much my body progresses. (Because the workouts are just so good I know I'm going to see results) If you're hesitant about joining this gym don't. This gym is for the inexperienced to the experienced athletes.
