Only 1 hand-dryer works while there's no paper towels in the locker room to dry off, and half of all toilets are unavailable/out of service at times. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm not in town that much, but when it was advertised at $10 a month, I figured I could swing $120 a year even if I only made it to the gym 12 times. Then you find out there's a initiation fee, a yearly maintenance fee, and a 25% credit card surchage. Not to mention they increased their prices this April by 50%. When I changed from credit card to bank draft to save the 25% cc surcharge, they didn't automatically remove the extra. I then had to chase corporate up twice to refund the difference (with 30 to 60 min wait times each call). Then I tried to cancel a day before my account was drafted, and they said they actually count it from the 1st so I would be charged 2 more months before I could cancel. They gym itself was fine... lots of machines, didn't have to wait too long (I never went in peak times). The upstairs cardio area was too hot. The female section never had smaller increment lighter weights (5 lbs, 8, 10, 12). Restroom was fine. There weren't enough classes to make going to those worth it. The customer service (or lack of it) would make me never recommend this place. read more

When I had my property accidentally taken off the premise by another member, Jay worked quickly and diligently to recover it. Once the problem was brought to his attention, not only did he make me feel heard but he took action immediately and effectively. 10 mins hadn't even gone by and here comes Jay w/ my recovered item. I was TRULY grateful! He also upheld professionalism by not calling me to the desk once the member returned my item, haha because I definitely would have had some extra words for them. read more

To me this gym is pretty solid because if a machine is taken ill really just do another variation of the exercise and trust there are many variations lying around like it's not that hard to do but I guess people with no experience may struggle there. The only real problem for me and it's not worth downgrading the 5 stars is just the amount of incline benches there are near the dumbbell section, for sure you might have to wait on one of those if not going early in the morning. But like I said you could always do other variations of whatever you're trying to do on incline in the machine section. I just like targeting my chest with incline dumbbell press. read more

Definitely worth the money! It's only $10 a month for a membership. $20 to be able to o to different locations. As long as you don't come during super busy hours, you'll get a machine. Except for the stairmaster lol, that's usually broken. I do miss when they were open 24 hours though. read more

I'm giving it two stars because when nothing was in my price range this gym was available. Which leads into my review. If you can't afford the gyms that like to charge more and usually are more cleaner with adequate equipment then this would be the place you would have to settle with or planet fitness. This is not shade to these locations but places like this survive because it's cheap and people forget they are being charged because it's cheap. I have been at both and I'm not trying to be mean but if weight loss and being fit is your goal, neither gym will get you there. I have been a member of this location and other locations off and on since 2018. Why I permanently cancelled is because this gym location just doesn't have what I need and is a waste of money even at 10 dollars. I joined the gym for access to weights and machines. In the beginning, I thought I hit gold, but then I quickly started to realize how garbage this location and the franchise is. This gym barely has weights. Their machines stay broken especially the stair master and they only have four. Space to stretch out is scarce. Only two spots like that exist and filled always with bodies. They also get a bunch a people here so prepare to wait. You get this for paying 10-20 bucks. You get what you pay for. You are better off going to oyster park and walking around than coming there because the treadmills will be filled with people or half will be broken. This gym is not worth 10 bucks a month; it barely offers the bare minimum. I would strongly encourage people if they want to go to a gym, to look for one that actually has machines working and is affordable but still maintains the basics of being clean and having working machines. You may have to spend more than 20 but at least you would like to go to the gym versus driving to this dump and realizing you got to wait for almost any machine to be open. I would not recommend this gym to even a cat so no I won't recommend it to anyone. read more

I enjoyed working out at this location while I was still in Texas. Great classes as well as the movie room which I used a lot. The 4 stars is for the way they made it so difficult to get a hold of to make my last payment. I was told to open up the app for FC again and then had to share my account info to do so. Follow me I paid a down payment of $66 on 8/26 Decided to cancel on 09/02 after being charged $10 Spoke to unhelpful CSR who said I will be charged an additional $10 (for a 30 day notice I was not informed of on the day of registration.) I called the store directly to which they let me know I would also be charged $49 annual fee to close the account. Totalling $135 Plus tax for Approximately 7 days. Suckiest gym ever! Ladies Room: Only a couple weights (see my picture). The ladies in the room are always having to share them, and also the gym mats (if you're lucky you will even find any). It takes me longer to wait on the weights then to complete my work out. This has been brought to their attention and they still haven't found a way to resolve this issue. A friend of mine called and complained along with others from the gym and nothing has been done. All the money they make why can't they invest in a rack of new weights? Sauna: Never hot and super small. Customer Service: The reason why I gave them two stars is because of these two guys in the front desk, they are super nice and friendly. There is one particular girl in the front desk that always looks mad and not helpful. Ohhhh but did i forgot to mention if it's a nice looking guy she will definitely scan your gym card and SMILE! Disclaimer: I used to work here. I am a fan of Fitness Connection. I have worked as an instructor at practically every gym in my area and I give fitness connection high ratings. The facilities and staff are pretty good. The childcare area is large and safe. They have a cario movie room which is unique. The equipment is plentiful, usually clean and in working order. They have a women's only area, which is always nice. The locker rooms are decent, BYOB locks and towels. There is a sauna, which many people use. There is not a pool at most locations and they do not plan on having pools in any future builds. There are no clear rules about how the sauna is used. They need more water fountains and a a few more dressing rooms. For 10 a month, it is kind of unbeatable. I have heard complaints about trying to cancel memberships, I can not speak to that experience. read more

First I went on line to see if I could get a 5 day pass to see if the gym has changed and got better. I didn't want to waste my money if it was the same. I qot the 5 daY PASS. I WAS GOOD TO GO!! He and I spoke for a few second and I told him I had a 5 day pass and I'm just checking out this gym to see if I wanted to come back. Then here came I'm guess the manger or someone with a title and asked if I ever had a membership for this location and I told him yes. I wanted to get a pass to look around and get a feel for the NEW CULTURE of the gym. He said no I couldn't get a pass and I had to pay. I told him "that's cool with me, how much?" He said 16S I said "bet". I told him all I have is Apple Card and he said he didn't take and asked if I wanted to just send HIM money on CASH APP. So I take it if you want to go to the gym .... You can either pay fitness connection or pay this guy the money... This gym is horrible, it was missing more than half of the dumbbells and the Curl Bars... I can't believe no one has sent this up the ladder and got help to restore this gym to what it was... The locker rooms "TRASH AND DIRTY" The acoustic ceiling looks like it's from the 1960s. The water stains is terrible, they look like they are about to fall down. And now with the sauna I spoke with over five different people while I was sitting in a sauna asking them does this get any hotter and is this considered working to them. They say that the sauna sometimes works and sometimes does it. And the temperature in it today was apparently not working. I like that it's never crowded during the times that I typically go (bright and early when most of the town is still waking up) and I always find myself in like-minded company. I find encouragement and inspiration among those who aspire to consistent improvement, and I appreciate everyone - staff and members alike - whom I've come across during the several months I've been going. Equipment seems to be in decent condition or otherwise gently used, and I am happy to see facilities managers making their rounds to make sure everything's in order. So many things are wrong with this facility. Broken machines, filthy gym, fitness connection rapist, creepy men following you around the gym, and lastly the worst service I've ever witnessed. I was still prepared to be a member because you know it's like $10 a month so I wasn't complaining. But yesterday I went in to speak to a trainer (which is a third party operation fitness connection doesn't have any trainers so they hire another company) to talk about muscles and recovery. He was showing me some powders and I was telling him how I'm vegan there's restrictions. While talking, a fitness connection employee recognized me and decided to help out. He was super enthusiastic and was telling me how the price is low because the end of the month. I told them both I was unsure and had to do more research but he kept pushing. I even told them I didn't have my cards but we found out they could charge through my card on file. They kept the product because I was going to work out. I called my friend who advised me to return the product as it's not vegan certified and the whole interaction was just pushy and uncomfortable. She offered to let me try hers so I could see if my body responded positively to it. Great, right? But no. On my way out I tried to return the product and it was as their entire demeanor changed. The primary worker who assisted me had left, it was his coworker he left the product with and he was mad rude. I asked to speak to a manager and was told "she's off the clock and doing inventory and we don't accept refunds." He went inside to speak to the manager and literally that's what I got as a response, I could see her through a glass door. So unprofessional and downright disrespectful. He continued to stand his ground and say "it stays no refund on the glass door," sir in the service industry you tell people the refund policy as you're checking them out or notify them, not rely on a piece of paper. When I asked for a receipt he promptly said "well you have a bank statement you can check on there." Lol truly piss poor service. I legit told them to keep the powder because I don't want it, so yes the product is with them. I'm going to go again after work and TRY to speak to a manager, if this issue isn't resolved I'm simply canceling my membership. All this hassle to return a product I didn't even want. The corporate office definitely needs to get involved this is such a sorry excuse for a business in general. All these low reviews, I wish I believed them before getting a membership. I'd rather pay more money and find a decent gym rather than being treated and spoken to in such a belittling manner. In conclusion, DO NOT COME TO THIS GYM. If I could give this gym negative stars I would. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. FIND A DIFFERENT GYM! I walked into the gym December 2020 and canceled my account as I was moving out of state. A few months ago I see they are still charging my card. I called back in January to figure out what's going on. I tell them to CANCEL my account and that I need to see a resolution for all of the money they've been STEALING. They tell me there is nothing they can do as far as a refund but they will cancel my account. I check my account a few days ago and see they are STILL CHARGING MY ACCOUNT!!! I call and they tell me they are canceling it AND WILL NOT REFUND ME MY MONEY!!! I've been on hold for HOURS AND HOURS. And every employee tells me there is nothing they can do. This is the worst ran business I've ever dealt with in my life. They will lie and say they've done nothing wrong. THEY'VE BEEN STEALING FROM ME FOR YEARS!!! I used to go to this location but cancelled my membership after this incident happened. PLEASE READ UNTIL END I was in the treadmill room when a man with a Fitness Connection t-shirt approached me. He stood on the treadmill right next to me and got in my face with no mask; mind you this was when mask were still a requirement and the machine he was standing on was closed due to spacing. He was inches from my face telling me I was wearing the wrong gloves and his behavior was aggressive. I was in shock and honestly a little scared that he was so close to me and froze. I told the manager who was working there (a black man possibly in his late 30s) what happened. He told me it wasn't an employee, the t-shirt the guy was wearing was one for guest to purchase. So he was pretending to work there to HARASS me. This was the part that pissed me off the most and made me decide to cancel my membership. The manager told me word for word, "I hate to say it but he probably thought you were cute, I don't know what else to do". I guess it's fine for guys to be absolute creeps, to get in your space and harass you if they "might think your cute". I'm sick of men who work at gyms not taking these situations seriously. It's a bit difficult to workout without water. Fitness connection only has one water fountain, normally wouldn't be a problem, however the one water fountain hasn't been operating at peak capacity for at least a month. The filter condition was at critical for about 2 weeks before the filter indicator light was turned off permanently. I brought the issue up with a manager named Darnia multiple times however she kept on insisting "they gonna come next week". The gym is great, sucks that the one and only water fountain is in questionable condition though. read more

This gym is horrible, I went here on a guest pass to try out the gym. First things first, the staff here is very rude and nonchalant. Sure it's $10 a month but I would rather pay $100 at any other gym than go here. They say the gym is not too busy but no matter what time you go it is super packed and their stair masters are always broken. If you want to attach yourself to a gym like this, I say go for it but I would never come back here or give this company money. I've had my membership since they started construction. It's the most affordable cost effective gym option by far! The facility is always clean and well cared for. They're quick to repair broken equipment and fix issues. The management in general but Arva Dailey in particular is exceptional in making sure the guests, members and staff are well cared for. I've had to speak with management about getting personal training and Arva was all about what was best for me and NOT just about selling. She is attentive and very professional at all times BTW I'm there 4 to 5 times a week. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful! Members are always greeted with a smile. During covid19, they halted payments and were very effective in providing a safe and sanitary facility. This is my home gym and you'll be happy if you make it yours too. read more

This gym was the first one I've sigh up for ever since I was a freshman in high school and honestly from my experience it's the best gym I've been a member in . For the most part the young guys in the front are super greeteful, nice and conversational they try everything they can to help you with any minor inconveniences. They always remembered who I was and always greeted me courteous. They would always be smiling and joking with their regulars and other ppl too. They are fit too so it gives a good image to the gym. The owner of the gym however is not so welcoming sometimes she has a snooty attitude. Most of the time I would go . There is always space to workout and bench machines open. There is so many equipment upstairs and downs stairs . They have a projector playing classic movies all the time with treadmills . There sauna is the best . Restrooms always clean and big. Mostly other members are cool there and chill. There is only like 4 or 3 "weird" ppl I've seen. There creatine is literally a game changer. I liked this gym but they have this fee which charges you every year $50 I think it increased but I hated that but I loved this location and after 4 years here I'm moving to Tomball but that locations gym is so small and always super full so I'm switching my membership to another gym.
