Since I travel without black water or gray water tanks, I use Anytime Fitness gyms to clean up. This gym in Katy has not only the usual exercise equipment, but also boasts the nicest, best stocked shower room in any of the AF's I've used. When I spoke to the staff I found them to be very friendly and outgoing. Now if I could just convince myself to exercise while I'm on the road, I'm sure I'd find the gyms doubly useful. Personal Trainer by the name " Ryshaud Smith " , don't ever book with him. He is very disrespectful and rude, I will never try to book another session with him again. I also know he isn't actually PT certified! He is not qualified to PT whatsoever , so beware before trying to train with him. Anytime fitness please hire better & more QUALIFIED people. I faced discrimination at this club by a staff member and the management is incredibly unprofessional. If you're a person of color you've been warned. The owner invalidated my experience and did not respect my wishes to simply cancel my membership and move on. Instead he continued to escalate the situation and gaslight me. Everything I experienced was written in a formal complaint and I had nothing else to say to the manager. I attempted to end our correspondence multiple times. Tiran clearly needs diversity and inclusion training, because he is still very unaware of how his words and actions are inappropriate and unprofessional. read more

I stopped here on the way to the airport. I was going to Katy Mills to buy something I needed, and I figured I would check out this AF across the street in case I ever stayed in the area for other poker clubs (recently played in Round Rock). After dealing with Houston traffic and toll road system, I don't think I will be back, but I can recommend this gym. I was greeted the instant I walked in. The owner then came over to shake my hand and say hello. We spoke for a few minutes. As far at the gym goes, it's smaller than my home gym in NC, but there are much fewer members, it's clean, and the people who work here are super friendly. That's all you need. And weights. This is a chain gym that offers 7-day free passes online. This location's local owner wants to charge me a monthly fee to try out the gym and refused to honor the 7 day pass that I had already printed and confirmed online. Waste of time to go here. As to Tiran's comments--he texted me prior to letting me show up at the gym and knew I was from out of town. He welcomed me to come use the 7 day pass full knowing I was from out of town. Only when he got me in the door did he try to bait and switch me and charge $15/day--big difference from the "free" he mentioned over text. The one star review is purely for lying and bad management tactics. I don't care if you offer 7 day free passes or not--what is unacceptable is discussing me being from out of town in advanced on the phone and still letting me waste my time coming over here to use the free pass, when you're well aware you are going to charge me the moment I walk in the door. read more

Small gym but the owner is the worst! If I could give this gym 0 stars just because of him, I would. Multiple members approached me saying the same thing about the new owner. ---------------------------------------- Thanks for your feedback. Allow me to go into more detail. Day one when I was aggressively approached by you, my personal space was invaded as you demanded that a towel is used or I can go elsewhere. The reasoning is because you saw some gym in Europe do it.. After a few minutes of getting lectured and harassed for not using a towel (something no other gym has ever enforced that I've been to since I started lifting in 2009) I conceded and finished my workout without using a bench. That was the first time a member approached me telling me how ridiculous this gym has become while we were looking at the collage on the wall of happy members before your time. (Check the tapes) During the two weekends when I was there, no one used a towel. It's only when you are there do they feel worried of being tossed out for not appeasing your unique and one off rules. (Check the tapes) Our last interaction was another interruption where you stared at me while standing very close. After that interaction, yes, another member approached me once again, more than once, explaining how his experience at the gym has greatly suffered due to new ownership and that there are other members who have been harassed and feel the same. I then took your advice and called in search of another. Coincidentally,unintentionally and inadvertently called you, explained why i am looking for a new gym and I certainly spoke my mind. I apologize if you did not like my honest feedback. I have been an anytime fitness member for a very long time and have never had anything but a pleasant experience anywhere else aside from this gym. This is a great gym. I tell everyone that Anytime will never be the best gym for serious lifting, but most are always adequate. This gym is no exception. The staff is super friendly, the place is always clean. I joined here, but due to work have switched locations. A great thing about Anytime is you get access to all the facilities. I joined these guys about 2 months ago and I could not be more pleased with my experience. Starting from the beginning, I met the owner, Tiran, on day one and he gave me a tour of the facilities. This gym has EVERYTHING you might need to get a solid workout in without the frills and BS of a larger gym, and Tiran is very knowledgeable and thorough about the equipment in his facility. He's also insanely approachable about any and all of your questions. I elected to go with a package that allows for access to a personal trainer and was paired up with Nancy, who's an absolute gem. She has this amazing ability to motivate you without pushing you too far beyond your comfort zone or demeaning you, which is exactly what a beginner like me needed. All of the trainers there are personable and charismatic, and you can't go wrong working with any of them. Tiran keeps his facility CLEAN as a whistle, with towels provided in the public areas to clean equipment after use; plus, the bathrooms are stocked up with most basic amenities needed to get groomed up after a solid workout. If you're looking for a gym with a giant Olympic pool or spa with massages offered by Swedish people or a barely used rock climbing wall or a Wendy's just inside the front door, this isn't the place for you. But if you're a purist like me, someone who just wants to lift up heavy things then put them down and/or get a solid sweat going, then this is your spot. Can't recommend it enough. read more

My husband and I have been members for almost 2 years. The gym is extremely clean and the staff is amazing. We love Charlie and that's why we continue to go to this gym specifically. The facility is sufficient, but not crowded, which is important for relaxing. I always arrive after 8pm. The 24-hour key access is very convenient to me. They offer classes for all age groups, boot camp and yoga along with their well attended and clean equipment. I love my gym. I'm always greeted with a smile and wave when I walk in. It's never crowded like some of the bigger gyms I've been a member of. It has lots of machines and free weights as well as squat racks, benches and a smith machine. Tiran and the staff keep the place spotless and they do a great job at making me feel welcome! read more

I travel a lot for work and have had the pleasure of visiting several Anytime Fitness locations. I've been in both larger and smaller gyms and the amenities that Anytime Fitness in Katy provides is by far the best I've seen across four states and two Canadian provinces. From the free weight section (including 110 lb. Dumbbells and a dedicated Dead Lift Zone) to the cardio equipment, to the amenities provided in the restrooms, right down to providing towels...my home gym in Katy has the best of everything. This was my home gym for 6/7 years. Until recently, it was a great gym for our needs. The main issue I ran into recently, and the main reason I joined a new gym, is I was having to compete with gym employees for the bench press (only one that is set up to be a bench press, but there are other benches and curved barbells), the squat rack (again only one so between members/employees doing squats or upper body...I had to frequently switch up my routine or work another muscle group or choose to wait 30+ minutes for the machine), curved barbells and free weights ( again competing with another gym employee for the same barbell or free weight). The final straw for me was 3 weeks ago when I was almost at the bench press and an employee and his friend cut me off and jumped in front of me to get to the bench press first. They weren't done with it until 1 hour later. So not cool and not courteous or helpful and clearly, not enough equipment. This was happening between 7-9 pm, so if you can't make it to the gym until then, be prepared to share the equipment or switch up your routine. The gym is extremely clean and safe. The owner, Charlie, is nice and will work with your needs. However, when I complained that one squat rack wasn't enough, one of his responses was your dues weren't paid in Jan. (Forgot to give ABC financial my new card info.) We were already in Feb and I immediately got caught up. My complaint about the squat rack was not addressed. The dues should have been addressed separately and in January, In all fairness, there isn't room in the gym for another squat rack unless you change some equipment out or rearrange it. But when you can see that members and employees are competing for the same equipment, as an owner, you need to address it. It is a great gym depending on your needs, goals and time you can go to the gym. If you choose to join, be sure to make an appointment with Austin Tracey! He's an awesome trainer. Side Note: the last review before mine was 4 months ago! AFTER I posted this review, which is honest and fair per my experience, suddenly 3 people have posted super positive reviews stating just the opposite of what I stated right down to a "member" claiming he has no issue with having to wait for equipment between 5:45 and 6:45 pm. This gym has been under new ownership for a few years and it really shows. The owner, Charlie, takes tremendous pride in his gym and truly wants every member to succeed in their fitness goals. Normally I'd never mention bathrooms, but Charlie keeps the showers and toilet facilities in immaculate condition. The equipment is kept clean and the facility is big enough to get a good workout and never over crowded. Still, it is a smaller compared to other gyms but the 24/7 convenience and cheap membership make it a bargain for a single person or couple that just want to get a workout. read more

The owner Charlie, since my first visit over a year ago, has been incredibly kind, supportive, and educated me on how to use everything from free weights to machines. Charlie and his incredible staff treat my friends and I like family. The community and positive vibes here allow anyone to feel comfortable and enjoy their workout without feeling judged. Well figured i would chime in on a great experience. As our options in Katy are limited to LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness, this little gym is awesome. From the minute we walked in, the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about things. Great security in the parking area for my girlfriend and the gym is not as packed as i thought it would be in the evenings when we go work out. Oh, and he gives new members a Tshirt and water bottle. I would have to say this is my favorite gym. It has everything I need and they are constantly adding new things for other fitness levels. The gym recently got a new owner and he is awesome. He is always there when I go, and is ready to answer, or help with any questions. I had asked about the new "fat incinerator" classes they have and he was kind enough to take me and my friend through the complete class. Not too many gyms have such hands on owners, like this one. They are really good about answering concerns and trying to find a solution. For instance I wanted to join a fitness class but none of the ones open worked for me, I pointed this out and wham, they opened up a class that fit my schedule perfectly. I love how clean the gym is, but the best part are the cold peppermint infused towels. The perfect cleanse after a hard day at the gym. I don't plan on going to another gym anytime soon. read more

I joined Anytime Fitness in September, I wanted to burn fat, group classes, tone and of course lose weight. I have found everything I need and more at this gym. First of all Ty, the owner, is one of a kind. He registered me and actively listened to my concerns. He is always cheering us on and helping our trainers as needed. My trainer, Austin has become like family to me. He is very intelligent and puts together workouts to target my specific areas I need improvement on. He has the most positive attitude and his energy is contagious. The gym is super clean, great music, awesome people work here and I've made many friends from my group classes. I'm almost 40 and exercising has never been a big part of my life until now. I come 4 days a week and I honestly LOVE it. My wife and I have been members here since we moved to Katy in August of 2012. It has always been a good gym, but recently the ownership changed. We are both very excited at the changes we have seen so far. It is much cleaner than it has been and there are more amenities. Travel here often for work and its on par with most other Anytime's. I've been to many across the country and it is one of the smaller ones which is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5. Has a few less cardio machines then others but everything else is pretty standard. Always clean never overly crowded that you have to wait for anything during peak hours. read more
