This is a really nice weightlifting gym in northern Fresno. If you are focused on powerlifting or…read moreolympic lifting, you will find basically every piece of equipment you could ever need for both your main workout(s) and your accessory work. They have numerous lifting platforms in different shapes and sizes, as well as different types of squat and bench racks. There's multiple types or barbells, and bumper/metal plates in both lbs and kilos, including smaller denomination plates. There's also tons of accessory machines, a GHD, and even some cardio machines for warming up. There's also a large open area for sled pushes, sprints, etc. This is one of the most comprehensive gyms I have ever been to in terms of range of equipment, and if you can't find what you need to complete your workout here, it might not exits. Two minor criticisms: the first is that the bathroom definitely had some dirty areas and some things that were out of order/needed repair, and the price of a day pass ($35) is a bit high, even for a gym like this. Otherwise, a great spot to work out in Fresno.

The gym itself is huge, but while there's a lot of equipment, most of it is cardio machines. The weight area needs some attention: there's only two benches for bench pressing, the 2.5lb weights are scarce, there are no clips for the barbells, and there could be more cable machines. The locker rooms could use a refresh: they are a bit dirty and the lockers could use a refresh. The pool here is really weird. The shape means that one of the lanes is unusable for lap swimming, and the pool is way too warm. All in all, this gym is ok, but I would never join it as a regular gym.

All of the machines seemed like they were bought yesterday, but also super high quality. Despite the size and lack of room of most gyms, JB had everything I needed for my workout. Squat rack, free weights, a spot for deadlifting, one the newer hip thrust machines. I'd highly recommend it, most certainly would be back again.

Wished people would wipe down their mats after they sweat all over it. So I have to wipe the mat before and after I use it.

With Covid the small gym was too small and I needed to find a bigger gym. I checked out GB3 but didn't really like the feeling/vibe. I tried a free 7 day pass a FWF three weeks ago and immediately loved it. Everyone is doing their own thing, is positive, and courteous. The customer service is spot on and all the employees seem happy--and are very helpful. I'm easily the scrawniest guy in the gym and understand traditional gym culture the least . But I'm super comfortable going to FWF. I never have to wait for a bench or machine (I'm there late Monday morning; Wednesday and Friday midday). Everything is clean. There is a fantastic sense of camaraderie here, led by the owner Terry, who is very present in the gym, and a team of knowledgeable, energetic coaches. The class times are convenient, and they even offer body scans to give you detailed, data-driven feedback on your progress. Fast forward to 12/2025, I finally went in an unfroze my account. There were quite a few noticible changes since then: There are now more squat racks (vs just the 3 at the time), there are also more cardio machines and the daycare was also closed when they reopened. There are also sanitation stations throughout the gym too (which is an A in my book) however it also seems that there are now more new members. I'm so glad to be back after all these years of putting it off. I've lost some strength since then but I'll probably gain some of it back probably after a month in. Pro Tip: This place is at its busiest on weekdays starting around 3pm until 8pm. Late Fridays and the weekends are the least busiest.

But Sean? He's the manager. And I am absolutely baffled that someone with this little people skills is in charge of anything involving human interaction. Sean has what I can only describe as angry short white man syndrome, and I don't say that lightly. The man was on an incredible power trip from the moment we interacted with him. I have never met someone who radiates that much unexplained hostility. He was huffing, puffing, and looked like he was about to blow the whole house down. His face was red and was literally shaking from anger because his "ego" cannot admit that he was clearly in the wrong, and it was almost funny. My friend and I stayed completely calm and polite the entire time, which seemed to make him even angrier. Watching a "grown" man have a full emotional meltdown over a normal customer interaction was genuinely pathetic and sad. I genuinely mean this, Sean Clinton does not deserve to be around people, let alone manage a team. If you're the type of manager who turns red and shakes because a customer speaks to you calmly, you are not fit to be in customer service. To Sean, if you ever read this: take a deep breath. Maybe a vacation. Or therapy. Something. It is not our fault that you are only three apples tall.
