It's great to have one here in Glendale. I got my membership at Lake Havasu in Arizona and have…read morebeen going there for gym workouts since I lived there, frequently using other locations as well, like the Palm Desert spot, which is a great location. This one was nice; enjoyed the free parking and all the amenities all the other ones have, like showers, but it is not top tier. Machines are broken; some have signs that don't work. There's also a lack of other machines that are more obvious in other locations; it seems like they only carry the basic machines, which is fine if you want a simple workout, but there's very little variety here. The palm desert location is small as well but has more variety than this one. I do like the privacy, though; it is not as crazy or chaotic as other gyms. Coming in at 9 pm on a Tuesday was great; there were only about 4 other people here, which I loved. The other well known gyms are busy and filled with chaotic, judgmental people. In this one, everyone was just there for a workout. Small gyms and higher price points do tend to keep all the $10 membership people away, which makes a big difference in gyms. So far in my return back to LA, I am in search of a great Anytime Fitness location, and there are others in the San Fernando Valley I need to check out. I may come here once in a while, but I do need to see what else is out there. I just feel like something is missing here.

Anytime. Anyday…read more Anyway you can. Anytime Fitness - Glendale is no frills good clean fun. Located on Colorado Street on the corner intersection with Louise Street, parallel from Glendale Central Park. You can enjoy this little big location any day of the week with key fob access. They offer a 1 day free trial membership, that I wish was more like 3 to 5 days, but a win is a win! All the cardio equipment is in front with a great view of the street and local Glendale life. Some of the bikes and non treadmills can feel a little mushed together, but they do utilize all the space the best way they can. Restrooms and Showers are tip top, with crazy amazing water pressure. Some cubby holes and lock boxes to store your belongings. Parking is easy in their private lot, however it is limited. It's only a blockish from the the Americana and two from the Glendale Galleria. My boyfriend doesn't live far from here at all, so it's an Anytime I hope to revisit a little more getting back into the swing of being more active. Studio is really nice for free use if no classes are happening. I'm not a full member again yet, so I can't speak to all the policies that have been updated, but with the exception of less amenities and locations Anytime Fitness is exactly what it promises and this one in Glendale is one I appreciate.

I genuinely like this gym. The staff is great, the atmosphere is good, and I enjoy working out…read morehere. That's exactly why it's so frustrating to see a gym marketed as a premium facility have this many ongoing maintenance and management issues. The steam room has been out of service what feels like every other week. It appears to finally be fixed now, but given the history, we'll see how long that lasts. Several lockers have damaged or detached hinges that can literally snag, cut, or leave grease on your clothes when you hang things inside. Gym equipment breaks and can stay broken for weeks, sometimes close to a month. Whenever these issues are brought to management, the response is almost always some version of, "We're aware of it, we're waiting on corporate." At some point, that stops being an explanation. The back extension machine was also moved into the middle of the gym, where it now seems to get no use. When members complained, we were told its previous location was a fire hazard. That explanation is difficult to take seriously. The room has three exits, and the machine was not obstructing an exit path. I'm familiar enough with fire-code requirements to know that simply calling something a "fire hazard" doesn't make the explanation convincing. Parking deserves its own paragraph. The system constantly has problems. Gates malfunction, sections occasionally close, and the payment machines sometimes refuse to read credit cards. Getting stuck trying to leave a parking structure after a workout because the equipment doesn't work is ridiculous. But the biggest issue is the air conditioning. For a significant part of the summer, the AC was barely functioning. I'm writing this review while sitting inside the gym right now. There are probably around 30 people here, and the temperature easily feels above 80°F with almost no airflow. That is not an exaggeration. In a facility where people are exercising intensely, proper ventilation and temperature control should be one of the most basic operational requirements. None of these complaints are about the staff. I actually like the employees here, and that's part of the reason I continue coming. The problem appears to be maintenance, facility management, and/or corporate support. A premium gym should not routinely have broken machines, damaged lockers, unreliable parking equipment, steam-room failures, and most importantly inadequate air conditioning. Members are paying premium prices. The facility should be maintained to a premium standard. Management already seems to be "aware" of most of these problems. What we need at this point isn't another acknowledgment. We need them fixed.

It's also very clean, the staff is genuinely friendly, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. That said, I do think management needs to address one issue. There are people--young, old, and everyone in between--who sit on a machine forever, and all they're doing is texting on their phones. I don't care if you send a quick text between sets, but when you're sitting on a machine for 30 or 35 minutes just texting, that's a problem. I've seen it happen way too many times. That shit has got to stop so other people can actually use the equipment. management needs to walk around and tell people I know it's not easy but it needs to stop.. I would've given five stars if it weren't for that Thank you for responding to me, but I will not go up to the desk. I do not want that confrontation with any of the fellow patrons. I suggest that your people walk around and say something to the people that are on their phones continuously it's pretty obvious like I said every once in a while, I don't care. I watched a guy on a leg machine yesterday for 30 minutes and barely worked out, but was on his phone the entire time I've seen an older guy with a cane who sits on machines and just plays with his phone.

I don't need some kid telling me how to use a tablet, and I told him that. And yet he proceeded to keep on doing it. Told him he was rude and I left. No apologies were offered (no one apologizes for their mistakes anymore, so it's shocking but not surprising). Kid needs to learn some respect and realize that I was using tech waaaay before he was born. What a fool. *** Response to mgmt's generic copy-and-paste message: Why should I contact the general manager when it's clear from other reviews that he doesn't really care? The sign-up process was easy, and Josh immediately made me feel comfortable by clearly explaining how everything works. Coach Lee MADE the experience. She guided the class so well and gently corrected my form throughout without ever making me feel singled out or behind. The workout was intense but manageable. I could go at my own pace while still keeping up, burned around 600 calories, and definitely felt it the next day. What really stood out was the support. Lee helped me choose a membership that actually fit my needs without upselling, and both her and Josh were incredibly patient with all my questions. I walked in anxious and left feeling proud and excited to come back, which says everything.

They are always warm, welcoming, and genuinely make members feel valued from the moment they walk in. 3 stars for some (not all) of the other coaches. At times, they seem to engage more passively with the class and expect members to approach them with questions, rather than proactively checking in, offering form corrections, or coaching throughout the workout. 1 star for the app. It is persistently glitchy and seems to have recurring technical issues that make scheduling and managing classes more frustrating than it should be. -1 star for converting classes to a 1G format when attendance is low. While I understand it may be more convenient for the coach, it often means everyone is crowded into an already small workout space. As a member, the experience feels cramped and uncomfortable. I would much rather spread out across the room, even if there are fewer people in class. -1 star for the extras to make this a more organized studio- like the stickers on the weight racks. Dumbbells are always misplaced.
