Winona Jiang is AMAZING! I've worked with a few trainers before, but Winona truly stands out. She's not only super knowledgeable about fitness and form, but also incredibly motivating and supportive. She takes time to understand your goals and creates a plan that actually works for your body and schedule. Every session with her pushes me in the best way--challenging but never overwhelming. I've gotten stronger, more confident, and I actually look forward to going to the gym now. If you're at Fitness 19 and thinking about personal training, I highly recommend Winona. You won't regret it!

NO ANNUAL FEE LISTED IN PRICES

Poor business practice. They put in tiny print that they charge an annual fee "to keep the lights on". If you can't run a business without charging these fees, you're a failing business. Not to mention when you inquire about this, they say it isn't a hidden fee (although it's left out of the other prices). Being deceptive is so gross.

Been curious about this place. Finally had the opportunity to try it out for a free visit. Plenty of free parking at the Eagle Rock Plaza. Fitness 19 is located at the upper level of the mall. There was only one employee working, so there was no one at the front desk when we entered. There were a few seats located at the entrance in case someone is waiting for you while you work out. Plenty of stationary machines to choose from. After I warmed up on the stairs (you can watch TV or look at a trail while you work out), I tried the machines that looked easy enough for me to figure out. Luckily there are pictures to look at that are self explanatory. Worked out my arms, legs, and abs. Short wait if a machine was in use. There are wipes to use before or after you use the equipment. The women's restroom has several lockers that you can use. You need to bring your own lock though.

Having snack with my teacher Zumba Jonalyn Sembrano.

I appreciated the gesture but was not too confident that he would take care of it. Well, after being notified this week of another Yelp user's reaction to my review, I recalled that promise to refund my monthly charge from November'23. I decided to call the site and amazingly the person who picked up the phone was perfectly polite and professional. In fact, after just a few seconds I realized that I recalled her (from her unforgettable and distinct voice) as the original person who toured with me when I initially started at the gym. She was great, within five minutes I had received a call back from her exactly as she promised and informed me that the refund would be processed within a few days. Today I received confirmation that yes, she and Anytime (ABC) had refunded my credit card. I can't imagine why it took the business owner months to reply to my initial Yelp review, but I can truly say that I hope he sees the extraordinary way that one customer service representative can impact a client's views. The person who helped (and toured) me is STEPHANIE - please appreciate that gem that you have there. She made all the difference and because of her quality handling of my account, I am open to rejoining once I return to Glendale later this year.

This one was nice; enjoyed the free parking and all the amenities all the other ones have, like showers, but it is not top tier. Machines are broken; some have signs that don't work. There's also a lack of other machines that are more obvious in other locations; it seems like they only carry the basic machines, which is fine if you want a simple workout, but there's very little variety here. The palm desert location is small as well but has more variety than this one. I do like the privacy, though; it is not as crazy or chaotic as other gyms. Coming in at 9 pm on a Tuesday was great; there were only about 4 other people here, which I loved. The other well known gyms are busy and filled with chaotic, judgmental people. In this one, everyone was just there for a workout. Small gyms and higher price points do tend to keep all the $10 membership people away, which makes a big difference in gyms. So far in my return back to LA, I am in search of a great Anytime Fitness location, and there are others in the San Fernando Valley I need to check out. I may come here once in a while, but I do need to see what else is out there. I just feel like something is missing here.

Most of the time it's ok, however some machines they clearly need more of. For example, the row machine (they have only one of) and pec fly machine (they have two). These you can almost guarantee that there will be a line. Cables. Lines are manageable but there is a bigger issue. Half the time there are literally no attachments. At times there will be say two triceps ropes and a single bar between the 6 cables to share. So, not only not enough variety of attachments (which is also true), but at times literally not enough to even have any kind of attachment on all the cables. I don't know if people take them to the private training area (which is not accessible to normies) or whatever they do with it, but it's very common at this gym and a deal breaker issue, I'd say. Sauna - insanely nasty. Horrible. Feels very unsanitary. I used it twice and both times my freshly washed towel, that I used there to sit on, caught this horrible stink of probably hundreds of peoples' sweats soaked in the wood of the sauna benches. I would've probably caught hepatitis A through Z had I not used the towel (half-joking). Still on the subject of sauna - not necessarily exclusive to this gym, but most people don't know sauna etiquette. They go in, wearing their sweaty shoes and clothes and do freaking sit ups and other crap in there, resulting in all of us sitting in heat and breathing in their stinky body and unwashed sweaty clothes evaporates. To those people, learn some manners and look up sauna etiquette before using it next time, that is nasty and you are just being an a**hole, with all due respect. That is not good for you or anyone around you. To the gym management - maybe print out sauna etiquettes and post them in a few places where sauna users can see? Have rules of use, just like you do for everything else? Overall, not ideal, but compared to some other gyms within walking distance it is at least usable.

At times, they seem to engage more passively with the class and expect members to approach them with questions, rather than proactively checking in, offering form corrections, or coaching throughout the workout. 1 star for the app. It is persistently glitchy and seems to have recurring technical issues that make scheduling and managing classes more frustrating than it should be. -1 star for converting classes to a 1G format when attendance is low. While I understand it may be more convenient for the coach, it often means everyone is crowded into an already small workout space. As a member, the experience feels cramped and uncomfortable.
