When the movers arrived, every box was packed and ready to go. Based on that, I was quoted around $600 and told the move would take about three hours. I specifically asked about unexpected charges and was told that as long as everything was packed, there wouldn't be surprises. Instead, the movers spent hours opening and repacking boxes I had already packed -- work I never requested or authorized. My final bill came to $1,455.84, nearly three times the quote. I understand estimates can shift, but an $850+ jump isn't reasonable by any standard. If I'd known it could cost anywhere near $1,500, I never would have booked. Worse than the bill was what happened after: multiple emails and calls just to get a response, and when I finally did, I was offered a small refund that didn't come close to addressing the issue.
