wow, Wow, and WOW!!! This was an experience I won't soon forget. I L.O.V.E.D. it!!!…read more My boyfriend and I had been seeing postings about this, but didn't know what to think. I mean, goats on your back, while performing Yoga moves? Ummm.... Okay. Sure! Why not?! YOLO! So, I bought the tickets, freed my mind of any hesitations and marked it on our calendar. Thankfully, my BF is a good sport and will try anything with me. We had no idea what to expect. We didn't know what the environment would be like. We didn't even know if we would participate, but instead, just be spectators if it was just to 'woo woo' for us. And, I'm a Born Again Hippie . As soon as we arrived, I mean, like hadn't even parked our car yet, we were greeted with a smile and warmth from Denise. The location is in farmland. The goats are in a pin, where you get to first become familiarized with them - and they with you. Then, you are escorted into the pin with the goats. Sounds strange? Not at all! You commune with nature. And that is the point! Once everyone is comfortable, the experience begins. It's magical. It's transcendent! The experience allows you to let go of all the gunk you've developed throughout the course of your week(s) or even months. It allows you to ground yourself with Mother Nature and be taken care of by Her. And, knowing how to perform yoga moves is not a requirement! Do what you can or don't. It's all about good vibes and love. After yoga, we were able to hold the goats, ask questions, and be provided trivia about them. I learned so much!!! I was previously scared of goats. Their eyes were spooky to me. Now, I look forward to seeing them again. After we returned home, I felt SO relaxed that I took a nap. And, it's been years since I have been able to take a nap during the day. I'm lucky if I get 6 hours of sleep a night! Menopause anyone? That's just how much the experience relaxed me!!! It revitalized me. It detoxed me. It made my mind and body smile again. So, what are you waiting for?! Open up your mind. Give it try. Just do it!!! You won't be sorry. Thank you Terrell, Katie, and Jasmine! Namaste! ‍

Small things that are in reach of you accomplishing and having a moment of aaahhh I can't believe I did that! Small things that bring big moments of joy! Goat yoga was on my small bucket list item that brought me big amounts of laughter and enjoyment! Let me tell you it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked up the two owners greeted us with a big smile. The class was intimate with only 9 people including me and a friend. The ladies are knowledgeable both in yoga and in goats obviously lol! It was so much doing the yoga while the goats walked around you. And yes they said it's okay to be distracted and play with the goats instead which I did the entire time lol. After the one hour class is done you're free to play and take pictures with the goats some more. I also loved that they took your pictures for you as well and airdrop them to you after class. 10/10 experience you don't have to do just once in your lifetime as it's decently priced and local!

I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery. Tal radiates positive energy! She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge. If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality. I can't recommend Tal enough!

The location is beautifully decorated! It's a quiet office with a large hallway restroom, complimentary coffee and teas in the waiting room. Being within a Dr's office, it was clean and felt safe and serene. I received the 90 min hot stone massage and opted for the CBD oil add-on. My neck, shoulder and arm pain is something that comes and goes. At its worst, I feel radiating pain and achiness that can continue for several days and disturb my sleep. This time, instead of "enduring" it for several days (and whining to my husband) I booked an appt with Linda. Online booking is super easy and convenient. If you don't know what type of massage you want or need, it's OK! Because Linda will ask you and adjust as needed. When I told her my symptoms, she included some trigger points and stretches! Ahhhhhh She definitely focused on my neck, shoulder and arm (main complaint) but did not forget the rest of my body! ( I didn't realize my lower back and legs were also tight!) The CBD oil did not smell and was a thick oil. She told me not to shower tonight. The only bad thing about CBD oil is that if it gets in your hair, your hair looks super greasy. So bring a hat if you need to go somewhere afterward. Not sure if it was the CBD or the actual massage, but I slept really well and did not wake up multiple times, as I had been doing! My neck and shoulder felt so much better, very loose and I no longer felt the deep radiating ache! I plan to do bi-weekly appts with Linda, as part of my self-care routine!

Doing a quick Yelp search, CJ Sewing popped up as one of the top rated alterations establishments in Elk Grove. I immediately scheduled an appointment for the following day. Since I was in such a frenzy, I totally overlooked the instructions in Ms. Jackson's (business owner) appointment confirmation email (the email states that you should bring a long sleeve shirt, a belt, and dress shoes if you're having a suit altered). When I showed up to the establishment, I was warmly greeted by Ms. Jackson and her cute furry friend- Sir Winston. As fate would have it, my suit jacket did not require altering; therefore, the belt and dress shoes that I had on were sufficient. Ms. Jackson is definitely a wealth of knowledge and respectfully shared with me that the slim fit suit pants that I had were not appropriate for my athletic build (slim waist & thick quads). However, she walked me through the alterations that she would make that would complement my physique. On the expected pickup date, Ms. Jackson informed me that she would need additional time and could drop the pants off to me later that afternoon . This was not a problem considering that I dropped the pants off at the last minute. Also, I really appreciated her communication. As promised, Ms. Jackson dropped the pants off and they were a perfect fit. Thank you CJ Sewing!

The color was discontinued, so I asked about adding a corset back and a hem. I was quoted over $375 for those alterations. When I asked about a first-responder discount (because my fiancé is one), she responded by asking whether he was the one with the dress. The comment felt dismissive of the impact first-responder life has on a whole family. I then asked about a graduate-student discount, and she began asking several personal questions about my education. I even offered to show my student ID, to which she said she was "just trying to make conversation" and that she would take $50 off--but the exchange still felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. She scheduled me to return in two weeks for the first fitting, where I would try on the corset and we would mark the hem. However, when I arrived, the corset wasn't completed. She explained she had difficulty finding a matching back panel and ribbon, which I understand since the color was discontinued. What concerned me was that she hadn't sourced materials ahead of time and didn't offer alternative solutions (such as lace) until I prompted her. She even suggested using fabric from the third layer of my dress for the back panel--something that would clearly be visible in photos--and only agreed it wasn't a good idea after I pointed it out. During the first fitting, I also told her that the corset was pinching my back and I didn't like the way it looked. She said nothing and offered no explanation. I later learned that with a corset, you're supposed to shift your back toward the sides to prevent pinching--something she failed to mention, and possibly didn't know. I had also repeatedly struggled with the straps since my first appointment, and instead of offering to re-sew them, she recommended adhesive. When I asked about simply re-stitching them, she hesitated and commented about my "budget," which felt judgmental and unprofessional. She then quoted $40. Because of the missed deadline, lack of proactive solutions, and overall unprofessional communication, I decided not to continue the alterations and returned to pick up my dress. At pickup, I told her I would pay for the work she had completed and compensate her for her time marking the hem. She initially agreed, but then tried to charge me the full cost of the corset--even though it was unfinished. She also tried to charge me for a hem that was never sewn (just pinned). After going back and forth--and telling her I wasn't there to argue--she charged me $25 for the 30 minutes she spent marking the hem and the partial corset work. I ultimately paid $150 for half a corset and pins she removed. Overall, this was a stressful and disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this business.
