I like how they're often burning incense before class. It really sets the mood. I've never had to use the showers but the areas of the locker room I have accessed is always tidy and neat. This is also the biggest locker room of the 3 I've been to, which is nice when everyone is getting their stuff at the same time. Both studios are a decent size. They can fill up but the instructors are good about encouraging staggering. I also like how the rooms and windows, so you don't feel fully closed off from the outside world. But don't worry! They have blinds so you don't feel like you're on display. While the parking has not been ideal with all the construction, they do their best alert us with changes. And now with that big garage across the street, it's been so much easier! All the instructors I've had are great and very inclusive to all, no matter your experience level, gender, age, etc.

There seems to always be an area in front of a mirror to life and space to stretch on mats. It reminds me of the old westroads club. The kids daycare is great, the attendants are super sweet and caring for the kids. I don't love the locker room, but it does have ample lockers and rear end access to steam room sauna and pool. At the moment the splash pad is down so I don't have a reference on the pool but hope its a nice get away for us when the winter blues come around. Overall for the price it's a great deal to get the kids out and a work out in.

Regarding behavior and supervision, these concerns are not based on isolated incidents, nor are…read morethey issues that we have simply observed without reporting. We have reported problems to YMCA staff when they occurred. On several occasions, we spoke with front desk employees and were referred to staff members working in the particular area involved. We have also stopped and spoken directly with Zach, the facility director, about our concerns. Unfortunately, despite reporting these issues, we have continued to see many of the same problems. Some examples have included children holding other children underwater for concerning lengths of time in the pool, children running through and creating problems in the locker rooms, fighting and frequent profanity on the basketball courts, individuals standing on top of equipment in the weight area, and groups of kids congregating around the walking area and making inappropriate comments to patrons about their weight or physical abilities. Some of these behaviors are simply disruptive, but others have caused us legitimate safety concerns. For that reason, being asked to report these incidents when they happen is somewhat frustrating, because that is exactly what we have been doing. At some point, we would hope that repeated reports would result in greater staff presence, supervision, and consistent enforcement of facility rules rather than requiring individual members to continually identify the same types of problems. We also wanted to clarify our concern regarding classes. We understand from your response that additional classes have recently been added. However, from what we can see, only two additional evening classes were added. While increased daytime programming may benefit some members, it does not substantially address the concern of a working family that primarily needs programming during evening hours. When we originally joined Westview, our experience was quite different. There seemed to be more class opportunities, and the swimming area in particular felt much more controlled and supervised. The frequent unavailability of facilities has also played a part in our frustration. There have been many occasions when areas we would like to use, particularly the pool or gym, have been closed or unavailable. When combined with limited evening programming, it can make it difficult for our family to consistently use the membership in the way we originally anticipated. We have increasingly found ourselves going to other YMCA locations when possible, including Gretna, Armbrust, and Southwest. What is especially noticeable to us is that we do not routinely encounter these same behavioral and supervision issues at those facilities. We certainly understand that children will be children and that no public facility can prevent every incident. Our concern is the frequency of the behavior at Westview and what appears to be a difference in supervision and enforcement compared with other YMCA locations. We genuinely want Westview to be successful. It is the location we should be able to use most conveniently, and our survey feedback was intended to explain why our family's experience has declined rather than simply to criticize the facility. What keeps me coming back isn't just the workouts--it's the community. I'm naturally pretty shy and not usually the person who starts conversations, but several of the instructors have gone out of their way to get to know me, welcome me, and introduce me to other members. That kind of effort makes a huge difference and creates such an inclusive atmosphere. I also love that most rides have a theme. Whether it's a throwback playlist, artist spotlight, or genre-specific ride, it keeps things fun and makes the workouts fly by. If you're looking for a welcoming, judgment-free environment and a genuinely fun way to move your body, I highly recommend checking out Movement. It was super fun and I was absolutely down to supplement my powerlifting workouts with these quick and intense workouts in the saunas. It's been a little over a month since I joined and I have loved being able to sign up for classes at any time of the day in a 24 hour period, being in the sauna by myself or the max of 3 people. It has been the perfect self care regimen I've needed since the weirdness of the pandemic and the world getting to a new norm. I know I'll keep coming back to this location to workout with my sister and Krystle as well as one that's opening up near where I live. It's a community . . . a family, if you don't mind me getting a little cheesy about it. The heart and soul of the place is Travis, the owner, but the other coaches are all fantastic, too. Crossfit, in general, might get a bit of a bad or even cultish rep, but that's not how it is here. The workouts ARE hard, but the vibe is 1,000% supportive and encouraging. There are ALL levels of fitness here, from Spartan racer, elite athlete types to the over 50, "what the hell happened to my body?!" types (I fall comfortably into the latter category). Scaling of the workouts is always encouraged to tailor the work you your specific level of fitness and the variety of workouts ensures that it is NEVER, ever, ever boring. Bottom line: If you're looking for a home and a place to start, restart, continue, or supplement your fitness journey, you simply can't go wrong here. You won't find better people or a better environment anywhere.

The first visit was free. I am hesitant about yoga because I am an on-the-go type person and I enjoy my workouts to be fast, competitive or heavy weight lifting. Slowing down and breathing was just something I couldn't find the time for. But, I know I need that. I'm glad I went. Crystal is a great instructor and assisted me get into the proper form. I never felt like I didn't belong or an outsider. Every yoga attendee had varying capabilities. The hot yoga was wonderful! Because of the heat I was able to really sweat and have relaxed muscles to get a more deep stretch. I felt tired, detoxified and I had a very challenging workout! I went back for a 60 minute hot yoga session that week. My body is sore and grateful for the new physical and mental challenge. I bought the special $30 for 30 days for new students. There are mats available to borrow, lockers, bathrooms and showers Tip: bring water and a towel!
