About two weeks ago my mom was admitted after a stroke and everyone from the ER triage nurses to the people delivering meal trays were just so nice, helpful and patient with my mother and kept our family up to date with things regarding her health. Since we spent a few long days at the hospital we were given a cart with tea, coffee, bottled water, soft drinks, fruit and snacks every day that were were there. That was completely unexpected and so appreciated. I especially appreciate the nurses in the Neuro ICU unit and the nurses in the third floor comfort care unit. Their compassion and was incredible especially since such an awful time in our lives. They have a DD downstairs in the lobby and a cafeteria where the food actually isn't bad at all. They even provide meals free of charge sent to the patient's room if you want.

Her internal bleeding went undiagnosed for about eight hours despite glaring signs. Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue. I was advised by my OB/GYN to seek care at the ER or Urgent Care. During my visit, Dr. Yeager asked whether I was having a boy or a girl. I explained that I did not yet know and would be finding out this weekend. He then stated that with "all these moms taking medications," by the year 2035 all boys will be on the spectrum. I found this remark to be inappropriate, insensitive, and unprofessional. It was unrelated to my medical care and made me feel uncomfortable during an already vulnerable time. Additionally, the comment made me feel as though I was wrong for seeking care, despite following my OB/GYN's instructions to go to the ER or Urgent Care. No patient should feel judged for seeking medical attention when advised to do so. I also did not feel that my symptoms or concerns were taken seriously. Compassionate bedside manner and respectful communication are especially important during pregnancy, and I did not feel that standard was met during this visit. I have always trusted BayCare Health System for my healthcare needs and have consistently had positive experiences. Unfortunately, this interaction did not reflect the level of professionalism and patient-centered care I have come to expect. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed to ensure that future patients receive respectful and appropriate care. Victoria P

Dr. Keene has been my primary care physician, specializing in endocrinology, for the last 3 years. I was very sad to hear he had left the Diagnostic Clinic Medical Group in Largo. They've had a huge exodus of great doctors, allegedly because it's all about bill, bill, bill. "Get more patients back for more appointments that are shorter so we can bill more, bill more bill more." Very Sad. Obvi, Dr. Keene's outstanding bedside manner didn't jibe well with this corporate culture. They're such douche bags at Diagnostic Clinic Medical Group that they will try not to honor your records request. By HIPPA, they MUST send your records if requested, but they're demanding elderly and infirm people to come in, in person, and sign for their records. THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. If they pull this on you, say this: "If you fail to follow HIPPA and transmit my records within the next 48 hours, I will notify the office of Ashley Moody, attorney general of Florida. I'm told she already has a file on you, to which I will add my complaint."

He is the worst "doctor" I've ever had. He is a pompous, arrogant blowhard. He doesn't listen and…read moretalks over you, telling you it's "old age" and you just have to live with it, nothing you can do about it! He keeps you waiting then spends most of the visit talking about himself! He belittles your reason for making the appointment, even when requesting an overdue follow-up scan for lung cancer, saying it's not urgent and at the bottom of the list! He is a control freak who does not LISTEN to his patient. But the worst thing is his violation of HIPAA. The exam room doors are never closed and while waiting for him, you can hear EVERY word as he "treats" the patient in the room next door or across the hall. Even personal questions and answers are broadcast in his loud, booming voice. Someone (who should know better) recommended him to me, and after reading some glowing reviews online, all I can say is that those raving about this "doctor" don't know what a good, professional physician is! My advice is steer clear of him and the Largo Dedicated Senior Medical Center. The front desk Manager, Connor, did not even have the courtesy to follow up with my complaint, despite saying he would. Nor did Christopher Chen, the CEO of Chen Medical--who owns the Dedicated Senior Centers--return my call, so right there, that speaks volumes about this shady outfit! It's all about money at these controlling geriatric clinics. I guess my next call will be to Medicare re the violation of HIPAA.
