Incredible service! I called Home Inspection Experts desperate to get a same day inspection and…read morethey were able to accommodate me. I was purchasing an older home in Long Beach and I was worried that I was making a bad decision but there just isn't that many homes for sale in the area where I want to live. These guys were fast and efficient and totally professional and the inspector showed up early, gave an amazing summary at the end of the inspection and explained every little detail including significant findings I needed to be aware of right away. I received a very detailed report loaded with pictures and recommendations that clearly laid out everything I needed to know from basic maintenance to urgent safety issues. I was able to move forward with my home purchase with a much better understanding of exactly what I needed to budget for as well as which items were more urgent that could be negotiated with the sellers for repair. If you want a solid inspection that will put your mind at ease hire this company. Not to mention the fact that the entire staff is very professional, kind and organized. I would use them again and again on a future purchase! Thank you Home Inspection Experts you guys deserve 10 stars!!!

He was extremely diligent and thorough in his inspection, took the time to call out the highlights of what he found right after he finished. He made it very clear that he is on our team and I appreciated that greatly! He found things that a different inspector missed and gave us the best report. The report he shared allowed us to easily get requests for repairs and share the report with the seller. I am forever grateful to John and will definitely hire him again!

He is not knowledgeable (made several errors), incredibly difficult to work with, and has the temperament of a petulant child. Edit: Some red flags for future readers - 1) this is the only home inspector of the five we reached out to who required full payment BEFORE the appointment. 2) he sent the original contract at midnight the night before he cancelled and cancelled it at 6:30pm, meaning he gave us less than 18 hours to read, sign and pay for a contract. 3) Since he cancelled on us last minute, I politely asked (pleaded, even) for him to reconsider - I said I would pay and sign then, but he denied us. This guy is probably sadistic or sociopathic at the least - it seemed he took pleasure in leaving us without help. 4) There are several typos in his reply above - keep in mind that this is who will be analyzing your home and writing your 100+ page inspection report. Do you want someone of this intelligence and education level spotting potentially deadly issues in your future home?

I needed to replace a 50-year-old roof & two skylights on my house. I got a couple of estimates…read morethat were pretty close in price. The second estimate was from EBA Roofing. I intended to get a few more estimates, but the project manager at EBA (Manny) let me know that he really wanted the job & they could start the next day, so I decided to have them do it. The cost was $30,000.00. This was the first time I had a roof replaced, so I had a few questions about the condition of the wood under the shingles. Manny explained that any wood that needed to be replaced would be extra. I knew from previous estimates that there would be bad wood where there were leaks & there were only four areas in the house where the roof leaked. I was home during the job & I was able to see how much wood was carried up to the roof because there was only one area where a ladder was used to access the roof & it was visible from my third floor living room windows. There were 4 sheets of plywood & (at the most) 7 or 8 2x4's. When the job was completed & the final payment was due, I was presented with a bill for $7,320.00 for "Extra Wood." I was given an invoice to "explain" the extra charges - a total of 491 square feet of wood. I reminded Manny that I watched all the wood being carried up to the roof & it was nowhere near what was claimed & adding $3,367.00 to the total cost was outrageous. The price per square foot was also ridiculous. To give them the benefit of the doubt & see if they might have made a mistake when measuring the amount of wood replaced, I also discussed this issue with the owner - "Ben." Of course, he wasn't interested in reviewing it.....until I posted a review to prevent others from being ripped off; then he offered to reimburse me $1,100.00 if I deleted my review. Although that was insufficient, in the interest of resolving the issue, I agreed. Interestingly, the owner asked, "How do I know you will delete your review after I reimburse you?" I responded, "How did you know my checks for $30,000.00 would be good?" (Dishonest people often think everyone else is dishonest). I mentioned to Manny that water was flowing off one section of the roof & was getting under a door into the den. Manny recommended replacing the rain gutters in that small section and another small section above a balcony. He gave me an estimate for those two sections of rain gutters (approximately 8 ft) - $5,300.00. Pure greed! I had another company replace ALL the rain gutters (130 ft) & install 5 Downspouts (60 ft.) on my entire house for $2,195.00. When I mentioned these issues to the owner, he responded, "Well, I already fired Manny." In 2025, during rain, I noticed leaking in two areas near air conditioning vents. I thought the ducting was the problem, so I contacted the company that previously installed my air conditioner on the roof. After the technician inspected the two areas & took several photos, he explained that the leaking was caused by missing nails on the flashing around the ducts, which was the responsibility of the roofer. He said he could seal the two areas with material & it would cost $325.00. Since it was raining and EBA Roofing takes several days to respond (if they respond at all) & I didn't want more water damage in my home, I had him do the repair. On 11-15-25, I e-mailed the detailed invoice and the photos to EBA Roofing & requested reimbursement. I also mailed the entire package to EBA Roofing. I got no response. On 11-20-25, I noted more leaking - this time from the roof. I called EBA Roofing and an office employee said they "will call me back when they get a confirmation time." On 11-25-25, a technician came & said, "Uh...I forgot my ladder at my last job & I will be back in a few hours." He returned several hours later. I watched him apply some type of material on the area. He said, "If you get any more leaks, call me." I then explained the previous situation of the leaking from the flashing. I also handed him a printed copy of the detailed invoice from the air conditioning company along with more photos - (in addition to my previous e-mail and regular mailed documents & photos which were all ignored). And I reminded him that it was the third time I have provided the information without a response. He said, "I'll give them to the owner." On 12-7-25, after being ignored for almost a month, I called EBA & spoke to a technician. He said they were not responsible for the problem & I should have contacted them earlier. I reminded him that they take several days to respond & I didn't want more water damage in my house. He just kept repeating, "You should have called us earlier." 12-15-25: EBA Roofing phoned me & said "We will be there to repair all the leaks if you are nice & take down the review." Two guys from EBA checked the roof, & blamed the leaks on "My neighbor's overhanging tree branch that is dripping water on the roof." Obviously, they think their customers are stupid.

Avoid this company at all costs. I trusted Pillar to Post (Schroeder team) to conduct a thorough…read moreinspection before closing on my new home. That trust was completely misplaced. Despite their report claiming the inspection was "complete," significant water damage and mold under both the kitchen and bathroom sinks were completely missed. These were not minor issues--we're talking about rotted wood, warped cabinetry, and mold that required thousands of dollars in remediation. Not only was none of this called out in the report, but there was also no mention that the inspector was unable to inspect certain areas due to obstructions. That kind of disclosure would have allowed me to investigate further or delay the close. Instead, I was misled into thinking everything was fine. Even worse, the owner admitted on the phone that they couldn't see everything because there were personal items present--but again, that was never mentioned in the report. And let's be honest: if you can't inspect an area, say so. Don't check it off as complete and leave the buyer to deal with the consequences. I'm now paying out of pocket to re-inspect the entire home to figure out what else they might have missed. Absolutely unacceptable. This experience cost me real money and created unnecessary stress. If you value transparency and professionalism, look elsewhere.

We hired this company for a pre purchase home inspection. The report marked multiple plumbing…read morecomponents as functional. About five weeks after moving in, when we began using secondary bathrooms, we discovered plumbing failures, including faulty shut off valves and shower cartridges that only produced hot water and required replacement. We understand inspections are not warranties. However, multiple plumbing components failing shortly after occupancy raises serious concerns about the thoroughness of the inspection. When we raised these concerns, we received a call at nearly 8:00 PM stating he wanted to wrap this up. We were asking legitimate questions about systems that were marked functional. In follow up emails, he stated with certainty that everything was tested and performed as expected and that there was clearly no liability. He was not personally present at our inspection, yet the position was absolute that nothing was missed. The written response stated that all components were tested and performed as expected and that there was clearly no liability. No professional is infallible. The issue was not the possibility of a mistake, but the refusal to consider that one could have occurred. That level of certainty, without being present, is concerning. Integrity is shown through ownership and professional responsibility, not denial. Prospective clients should pay close attention not only to the inspection itself, but to how concerns are handled afterward. That often reveals more about a company's professionalism than the inspection report alone. We cannot recommend this company.

That extra step gave me serious peace of mind during what can be a very stressful process. If you're buying a home in the LA area, do yourself a favor and book with this company. Highly recommend!
