The one saleswoman said to another customer "we know YOU here", which is not even code for "get out" which was meant for me. With their arms folded, they watched me like a hawk, as if I were going to steal a piece of some overpriced Juliska or Sferra right under their noses. There was one woman who used to work here who was friendly, helpful and funny. She is (understandably) gone now. These women are like trained hounds who can sniff out an adverse zip code in two seconds flat. Don't waste your time or money, or ruin an iota of self-esteem you may have had before you walked in.

This store is full of breathtakingly beautiful items, displayed to show their best attributes. Everything is top of the line. The staff are impeccable, genial and warm. While I was looking at sets of 4 coasters for $155 (not a typo- one hundred fifty five dollars), I thought - wow, I want to remember these when they get donated to Goodwill some day. Birthday Twin expressed her thoughts better than I. When they asked how they could help she said "Oh, it's a beautiful store and I am not your customer." Yep, me too. I don't fault them, please understand dear reader. Their offerings are not overpriced, they are top quality. They should cost what they're asking. I appreciate that. Lovely place. I am not their customer.

FDC and I were out and about, running errands and such. Hey, I said. Heard some good things about…read moreNana's Attic. How about we check it out? Sure! In we go. It's.a lovely moderately sized store tucked into one of the strip mall buildings, near the State Store and the Indoor Pool school. Yes, there's an indoor pool in one of the stores. It's a swim school or something. But I digress... Everything was laid out very nicely, they have many things to buy, but not so much that you're overwhelmed. We learned that there are two kinds of stock: CONSIGNMENT items have a larger yellow tag. DONATED items have a small bright orange/red tag. They tend to keep the consigned items more towards the front of the store, also. So if you see an item and you think, wow, that's kinda high...check the tag. Chances are it's a consigned item. We browsed about and found some lovely things - FDC bought a gorgeous Italian Pottery vase and I got some very cool drinking glasses that just happen to match some shot glasses that I gave Lion a couple years ago. Score! On subsequent trips I have found an awesome set of mid-century bamboo plates for picnics (LOVE THESE!) and other fun stuff too. The staff are completely lovely people, the store is clean, well lit and well organized. Proceeds benefit survivors of domestic violence - they have a shelter for victims and also fund programs. Parking is super easy (pro tip - avoid the crowds, small parking lot behind the Barnes & Noble easy in/easy out!). Heck, yeah, I'll be back. It's a great little store supporting a very needed service in our area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tons of cool items to choose from. I saw a ton of nice men's suits from Jos A banks. I'm sure someone will pick them up asap. Plenty of housewares, furniture, shoes and clothes to choose from I'll definitely be back

I learned about Mostardi's almost 20 years ago because they would send coupons to me in the mail…read moreaddressed to someone who used to live in my house a decade before I got there, and so I checked the place out. I don't get there often as I don't live right nearby, and as some may note, it is not the cheapest nursery to shop at. But the cost factor drops when one experiences what is likely the very best service one can get at a nursery in the Main Line/Delco area. I have been to Mostardi's twice in the past week, and each visit I experienced the same kind, very proactive and attentive service from every person I encountered that worked there. Even at the cash registers people are helpful with questions and patient, and in today's visit, I got design advice about laying out my plants purchased in the intended pot I had for them from a clerk who also does potted plant design for Mostardi's. The nursery is beautifully well-kept and importantly, the plants are vibrant and well-tended; you don't get distressed plants from this place. I found also that the types of annuals I purchased were priced competitively with some of the Lancaster County nurseries I go to often. Mostardi's, much like a locally owned hardware store, reminds people why going to Lowe's or a similar business for plants, while convenient, is not necessarily the best deal and certainly cannot offer the same quality of plants or service.
