We already had a very similar toy and it was a little young for my son's development so we were very grateful for the gift receipt to exchange. They have a large selection of Legos, and the science and STEM/STEAM type kits were prolific as well. It's nice to see most everything is vetted to make a kid think as they play, and there weren't mindless commercial gimmick toys or vapid crap promoting some character/tv/movie franchise. Toys were attractively arranged, neatly on display, easy to see, and price tags were clear and present. Some toys were fairly priced, like stuffed animals and Legos (curated sets, not basic ones), but we found the STEM/STEAM and science-y stuff to be a bit overpriced. The kit we exchanged for was 20% cheaper on Amazon. Another board game was 3x the price of the identical thing at Ollie's. I always try to support local businesses, but I don't have the kind of disposable income where I can afford to pay much over competitor prices. For what my son wanted, we felt a little frustrated driving a half hour from home (each way) and paying $6 more than having Amazon shipped to our door. Yes, it was a gift credit, so we didn't "pay" ourselves, but to have gotten a comparable price plus a small $6 extra little toy would have been nice. I think this is a great store to find items unavailable elsewhere (like some of the collectible LEGO sets, and stuffed animals), or for people unfamiliar with current kids' toys (grandparents, etc.) to get good recommendations and solid choices. Paying a premium is worth it to them. They did mention a rewards program, so locals will benefit from that taking the edge off of the competitor margins. We don't live close enough to take advantage of that.

They have an amazing selection of trains, including all different gauges, also miniature buildings, animals, people and everything else for your trains set. We didn't have an opportunity to stay too long so I'll be back to take a more in depth look in the near future. The staff are very helpful and super knowledgeable so come with questions and leave with answers. They also have a display with several trains set up with buttons for people to try to see what lights up or makes sound. The trains were not moving while we were there and they were kind of busy in the lead up to Christmas so we didn't ask to have them running, but I'm sure they would have turned them on if we had asked.

She became very distraught and angry Stated that she had told me to call back in 30 minutes because it would take a long time for them to prepare the house. She said that they would need to dismantle the display and it would not be ready until tonight. I told her I'd driven 40 minutes just to pick up the house and I would actually help her dismantle everything from insideif it would allow for me to get it sooner. By the way, there was only a few toys and pluses in the house. The picture is provided for everyone to see that it would only take 3 minutes to remove the items from inside! She then told me that she was very busy and I needed to calm down because she is verybusy and understaffed, and that she needs to check out everyone else in line first and I needed to step aside. She replies in a very mad way I told you to call back in 30 minutes!!!!! I reminded her kindly that she asked me to call back For the price, and I headed over because the price did not matter. I was embarrassed and humiliated, I then decided to walk away and let her check out all the other people in line. When she had done that, I came back to tell her I would help her dismantle the area for the house and I wanted to see what she could do for me. She was clearly walking past me ignoring me for a while and then she came and told me "now do you see what I just said,when we are extremely busy! She was so angry with us. I mentioned to her that she should calm down and that I would help her. Her attitude was so extremely disrespectful and aggressive and demeaning towards me. I don't even know why I bought the house, really just because I wanted to make sure I had everything assembled for Christmas for my kids. She then charged me more than what it cost to purchase the item Yes online, and the item is also marked in many areas and has some damage. I did not even complain about that. My biggest complaint is the way she treated me. It was absolutely disgusting. I work in an extremely stressful environment on a daily basis, and I have never ever talked to a single soul in this way EVER. I have spent thousands of dollars at your store, but I will never come back. I hope that everyone reads this and sees that they do not deserve to be treated this way.. It's located INSIDE of State Theater Vintage Emporium, which is an adventure in itself. Walk in the doors, go up the stairs and its the first "big" fixture/box shop on the left. They carried everything and anything anime and Japanese from plush, figures, cards/card games to even straight from Japan video games and trinkets for Ita Bags. They even had some Pocky, Ramune and other Japanese snacks for purchase. I think we saw the owner restocking as we perused and he was very personable mentioning he could answer any questions we had. Prices were in line/if not better than ones I see at conventions and online. Overall a great place to stop if you're in the market for current or vintage Japanese goods.

I was just in this store. The price tag on an item I purchased was $22.99, but I was charged…read more$29.99. I realized this AFTER I purchased this item. Something felt off with the total so I reviewed my receipt immediately upon exiting the store and I caught the error. I immediately went back in and showed the cashier my receipt and the price tag on the item and requested I be charged what was marked on the price tag. The cashier went and checked with someone in the back whom I assume was a manager of sorts. I was told that the prices were put on earlier today and that the "new" employee must have marked it wrong so they would not honor the price tag. I am so confused and shocked. I cannot believe a company would pass along their admitted error to the consumer? Not to mention, a violation of the weights and measurements regulations in PA, and throwing their new employee under the bus to boot? Terrible, short-sighted business practice. I am local to Bryn Mawr with 4 young children, and this was my go to for children's gifts for all occasions. I will never shop here again.

Yes I know there is plenty online but I'm pretty old skool when it comes to toys, I like it better shopping in a brick and mortar stores. I found it amusing to touch the toy before buying them. After promised my little girl her toys, I went yelping. Didn't find anything nice until scrolling thru pages. Lucky Duck toys stands out the most, especially with the playhouse that was in store. The moment we enter Lucky Ducks, we were welcome warmly, the ladies at the cashier were super friendly. My daughter couldn't decide what she wants so we were at each aisle over and over again lol. You know the best part? Bet every parent experience this. The ladies that worked there, didn't have any annoying look or smirks or anything like that. I would definitely go back there. P.s. No private parking, there are meter street parking. The in store playhouse is closed bc of the pandemic.
