I went to the store to buy gifts for a charity called Samaritan Purse, Christmas shoebox…read more Ameriprise Financial sponsors it by providing the money to buy the gifts for 100 children. Last year I went to the store as well and purchased at least $700 in gifts, same with this year. I just have to tell you that Heather the manager has always been helpful. She has the girls go to the back and look for items I need for the gifts and opens up an extra register so all the items could be rang up and not to hold up any other customers. Today Jene helped me out with getting the items that I needed. She went through lots of boxes to find the small dolls, accessories for the dolls, toothbrushes, nylon backpacks. Alice help me as well bringing up the items and helping me carry stuff to the car. They all took turns helping me out. I cannot say enough, how helpful these ladies are and kind. They do it with a smile and with a lot of patience. I go to at least three difffernt dollar tree stores because it's a lot of different items that I need. The South Tamiami Trail store is my favorite, mostly because everyone is so great. I'm taking time out of my busy schedule to write this review because I feel everyone should know and management what good employees work at the store.

I'd love to give HotBins more than 2 stars but the one time I went in, I found it wasn't as big of…read morea "treasure hunt" as it could be. You really have to pay attention to what you're doing and going through, and potentially going to buy. For example, Taped up boxes may not be what they seem, so you have to ask to open them (you can't open them yourself. There's a station you take it to and an employee inboxes it). Hotbins has specific dollar days where on Saturday "everything you buy is ten dollars an item" and Wednesday is "everything you buy is two dollars an item". Put 10 items in your cart (they have shopping carts and the Ikea big blue bag for your stuff) on a Friday, you're walking out the door paying $120 plus tax. There are items "priced as marked" and it can range in product. For instance, smart device charging cables were marked as $6 a cable (USB-C to Lightning, USB to Lightning, USB-C to USB, old style USB to whatever. Charging bricks I think were $6 too). There are bigger items marked as more or less than that days' discount (clothes, fragrances). I didn't catch the pricing on those, as it wasn't something I went over to look at. One challenge is, this store has stuff that is readily available at the dollar store (for example, I saw a twelve pack of Elmers Glue Sticks unopened. Going in on Saturday, I wasn't about to buy that for $10 when the Dollar Tree has the same package for 1.25 plus tax). Why spend over five dollars on a single item that you know you can get for a lower cost at another store and not on a discount? Yes, HotBins is a store of returns: Amazon, Target, Costco, etc. So it's possible twelve or ten dollars is well worth the expenditure if it's a big ticket item (an Amazon Echo Show holder for less than retail price? Sure, if you already have the Echo Show and want the holder), but even at the two dollar mark on Wednesday, there is still a possibility of paying more for the item than necessary. Again, you might be able to get a single $100 retail item for at least 75% off or more. So if it's something huge, you're getting a deal. BUT.. by mid week, it's slim pickings - store is closed on Thursday to restock the bins as they're open Friday to Wednesday. To reiterate the taping of the bosses: majority of the items are sealed and resealed. You must go to customer service to ask to see what it is, as the box description may not always match the item. The workers are more than happy to assist, and ask you don't open the boxes yourselves. If it's not something you want, they will repackage the item and put it back in a bin for someone else to pick up and ask. Overall, the store was clean and well lit. Music was on and not completely loud or in your face. Unfortunately I don't think I'd be back as I found it to be not a really great deal on the day I went.

I haven't been in awhile but love the new layout of the store. Seems like it was needed to fit all the products and to make the aisles more easily accessible. The line for sandwiches was 5 people deep, lines at all the checkout counters as well. Bought fresh peaches, cucumbers, potatoes, and more. Rave: do NOT leave the store with one of the new blueberry handpies. This is probably the best handpie I've ever had. I popped it in the airfryer and it came out so flaky and gooey. Not insanely sweet either. Wish I bought more of them. Ate it too quickly to get a photo so I looked one up, it's wrapped in parchment paper and in a basket next to the donuts.

If I had to choose something to change, I would choose a different person to do the samples in the store-instead of the older man. I come here at least once a week, he doesn't like people-especially kids. Definitely not a people person. When he was rude once or twice, I kind of shrugged it off to maybe he is having a bad day. But after numerous occasions of rudeness, we literally walk around the sampling station just to avoid any rude encounters with him. Still giving the store 5 stars because it's the best place.

I bought my stuff and he was in a hurry to be nosy with the situation of my sister and dad trying to return something so he straight up threw the bag. We had the receipt, but my dad accidentally forgot to bring one of the parts that belonged with the headphones. We completely understood that the return couldn't be processed without everything, and my dad even offered to drive the 2 minutes back home to get it. What bothered us wasn't the policy, it was the way we were treated. The employee immediately started making comments that made us feel like we were doing something shady because there wasn't a sticker on the box, even though we had the original receipt and were simply trying to make a return. After my dad came back with the missing item, another employee helped us, but the experience didn't get any better. She was rude, barely acknowledged us, and when we decided to buy a shirt while we were there, she didn't communicate what she was doing. We stood there waiting to pay, and when I asked if we could pay for the shirt, she told us it had already been paid for using the card from the return. She never explained that beforehand or asked if that was how we wanted to apply the refund. The entire experience left us feeling judged and unwelcome. I understand employees have to follow store policies and prevent fraud, but there's a respectful way to treat customers. We did everything we could to cooperate, and unfortunately the customer service we received was disappointing. They need to stop giving jobs to this rude, old people.
