It also gives the impression that prices can change depending on who is asking or what the current online market happens to be. A retail store should have transparent, clearly displayed prices rather than making customers wait while staff search online marketplaces. I understand that retro and collectible games fluctuate in value, but that's part of running a game store. Prices should be researched ahead of time and labeled on the shelves, not determined only after a customer expresses interest. Overall, the lack of pricing transparency and the reliance on eBay for on-the-spot pricing made the experience frustrating.
