It had been a long time since I'd been to Five Daughter's but then February flavors were just too good to pass up. I wasn't a huge fan of the chocolate purist, it was really lacking flavor, but the regular purist was delicious. I have been coming to Five Daughters for years now as an occasional treat. They have a range of donuts & pastries from $3-5. So it is more expensive than a normal donut joint, but the donuts are also noticeably better than your Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. This particular store is in the Franklin factory, and is quite small with a few tables/chairs right next to the store. There is also plenty of seating in the middle of the factory as well. The food: I ended up getting two donuts, the Peppermint Chocolate and Gingerbread Latte. I was really impressed with the Gingerbread latte as it actually blended a coffee taste with the gingerbread extremely well. The peppermint chocolate was also great and was pretty large as well. Stopped here when checking out The Factory. We didn't stay long, but after one look inside we had to try something. The employees working behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming, and picking out a donut was a treat in itself. There's so many options! We order all the things. I would go back again and was super happy with everything include taste, service, and atmosphere. Summer berry crisp was surprisingly my favorite. Five Daughters Bakery is an exceptional little bakery located in The Factory at Franklin. I visited a couple of times during my stay in Franklin and loved it both times. They had me with their version of the cronut. As it was explained to me ...they take up to three days to craft their donuts. After the 100 layer donut is cooked they roll it in sugar, fill it with cream and glaze it. They also sell paleo donuts, yeast donuts, cookies and pastries. On my last visit I ordered a orange Quinnamon . It was absolutely amazing. The orange taste was fresh and the pastry had crispy caramelized edges with a soft center. After my first bite I was blown away and wished that the bakery would move to Central Florida. The service is friendly and the restaurant is clean. read more

Superb, gigantic, sweet, flavorful, expensive donuts. That's how I would describe them. The maple cronut is a must. It's delicate, filled with a light and airy cream and has so many layers that you lose count after a while. My favorite was the sweet croissant-like bread I ordered. It was mild and had tiny bursts of sugar crystals. I could seriously eat that all day, every day but I won't. While the donuts are delicious, i think this is more geared towards adults or kids with very broad palettes. The prices are steep but worth trying at least once for a treat.
