The special occasion cakes are a delight for the eyes! There are cases that line the perimeter of the store filled with pastries that are so visually appealing, it's almost a shame to eat them! Piñatas line the ceiling and makes for such a festive atmosphere. You'll find sweet breads, donuts, and pastries galore! When you enter, take a tray and set of tongs by the door. Then browse your way around the bakery and add your selections to the tray. When you're ready, the staff will ring and bag your order. Keep in mind that most of the placards on the bakery cases are in Spanish. So you might type Spanish to English in your cell phone browser to learn what the pastries you are interest in are in your own language. It helped me tremendously! However, I will say that if you're not looking for it, you won't find it, so stay on the look out! This small Mexican bakery is most definitely popular among the locals and I just happened to pop by when I was driving in the area out of curiosity. I am so glad that I did. As soon as you walk in, you'll see a tray and tongs table to your left. It's self serve so you grab one and put whatever you would like to purchase on your tray. When I tell you there are hundreds of baked goods for you to try from, I'm really not joking. There's a variety of sweets lining up the store walls for you to choose from. There are even some hot pastries and cakes you can purchase from the counter. I was definitely overwhelmed by the choice and things aren't labeled, so I let my eyes do the picking. I randomly grabbed three of the prettiest deserts I could find. One was a cream and jam filled pastry, one was a cake, and one was a cookie. Each of them had such a unique and authentic flavor. After taking a bit of each one, I understood why this place was packed even late on a Sunday night. The best part is, when I paid for these three sweets, my total was less than $5. We were there for about 15 minutes and it was clear that this is one of the most visited bakeries. People kept coming and going. It was as if everyone except us knew how things work and what all they wanted. Then finally someone from the staff saw us and helped us out. We happened to be having dinner nearby and decided to check out this bakery afterwards. We felt a little lost when we walked in because we didn't observe any signs labeling the different varieties of bread. However, an employee quickly walked up to us and let us know that the trays and tongs were by the door, and identified a few of the breads that looked interesting to us. Since it was our first time here, I was hesitant and choose two items--a pineapple bread and a cherry bread. The purchase was less than $2. Something like $1.80, which seemed really inexpensive because the two items were pretty hefty in size. Took them back to our hotel and split them in half. OMG...they were so good. I was tempted to eat the other half but decided to be nice and share them with my husband who thought they were good too. For the next two days, I kept thinking about this bakery and ways I could convince my husband to take me back there. However, my conscience for trying not to eat too many sweets and carbs got the better of me and we didn't have a chance to go back. This place is amazing. Located near the airport and specifically next to Vinh Long, this bakery is a serious find. The owner was incredibly sweet and helped us select a variety of treats. Of note, the owner and the shoppers speak very limited English so I know this place is legit. There is a huge variety of pastries here from sweet, semi sweet to just bread in cool shapes. They cost a whooping ~60cents each. I highly recommend getting what the owner calls a guava kiss which is two cupcake like breads coated in guava and coconut shavings. It was great! The pineapple upside down treats are great too. In addition to pastries, there are cakes in slice form and whole cake. The slices were about $2 each. You know, I can't even say that I hate to do this. But I'm glad to spread the word. Hopefully someone who knows the business owners will get the message to them for me. I was elated to find this bakery. Their desserts are great. However, it doesn't matter how great your sweets are, because it quickly becomes as disgusting as the preferential treatment you give to others. The first time I was here, my boyfriend and I were immediately helped. Now I know, it was because I was with him. But over time as we come here, I notice that my boyfriend doesn't get the same friendly treatment as I do. He's white and I'm Asian. I've seen the employees ecstatically help Spanish speaking customers who came after him while he tries to seek help and they'll even address me before him. Because he knew I loved the desserts from here so much, he went in on his own last time. And again, a female employee helped a Hispanic patron and after she cashed him out, she went to the back and left my boyfriend standing there without any acknowledgement to him. Someone...anyone. Please let this business know that if you don't want to cater to those who aren't minorities. Put a sign up and we'll happily spend our money elsewhere. read more

Concha bread was just right, not too overwhelming sweet and little hint of lemon. Dunk it in your coffee or just by itself, it'll make a great breakfast or snacks. There are a lot of varieties and the looks can sometimes be deceptive to the taste. But the prices are low enough that you won't be saddened by any amount of experimentation. I found everything I bought to be very dry and tasted to be day-old stuff. I bought 5 different items, cakes, cookies, and pastries and not a single one of them was moist. I was also overcharged, they quoted me one price, charge me another, and also charged me for 6 items instead of 5. When I brought it to the attention of the store clerk that the price quoted was less than charged, she didn't even reply to me but to another clerk there. My two nephews, one is a big patriots fan and the other one he... he is just a 2 year old that will eat any cake, but his mom decided Woody would be a good choice for him. I immediately apologize for being late, the guy at the register was polite but lacked a little bit of dedication. I was told to pick up 3 different cakes, one for each individual, because we have a Pocahontas FAN, a patriots guy and a baby. A little short after talking to the cashier he came back with two cakes telling me they did not have the third cake... The fucking Pocahontas one!. Can you believe that?.. How are you going to tell your niece her "special cake" was not going be delivered?. I called my sister and she sent me the receipt which had all three cakes listed with specifications and paid for. The cashier came back and said they "found the cake in the back of the freezer" which I call BS. The cake did not look anything Pocahontas related with the exception of the green and brown colors to represent ground elements. They either forgot to make the cake and just put one together at the given time, which I think was pretty impressive or they just do whatever they want to your cake because they are the ARTISTS. I I'm not dissatisfied by their quality or taste, but by the lack of interest on their guest request. Costumer service was great and very helpful otherwise. Finally, I have found a panadería that meets my expectations in the Nashville area!!!! It's been a struggle, since relocating from Indy. I grew up eating these pan dulces so am a little picky on how they should taste. I'm sure bakeries are a lot like restaurants with different recipes, ingredients, etc. My advice is to go and indulge as though you were south of the border. This place is def a Latino community favorite! Always a good sign. It's clean, spacious (no seating, not unusual), bright, and very organized. Staff speak some to no English but are still extremely helpful and kind. The tray and tongs are on the left as soon as you walk through the doors. The pan dulces are all enclosed in glass cases to the right. The regular pan (unsweetened) is located to the left. There is a warm pan section to the left of the register that has meat filled pan (unsweetened). Was my first time trying these. They have an ever slight kick, which seems to be a more Mexican recipe (all countries have their own distinct way of seasoning meats). Overall, a good variety is offered. It was only lacking my two faves - maranitos (little piggies) and pan filled with cream cheese, onion, and jalapeño. Maybe, it depends on the day. Fingers are crossed for that!! This was the first panadería I've visited that had empanadas that tasted how I remember. The ones offered that day were heavily filled with queso/cheese or piña/pineapple. Devoured in a minute! FYI-This location seemed busy with people either picking up a cake or placing cake orders. It was on a Friday afternoon. Be prepared to browse and wait. No biggie for me, because it's was a happy visit. The tres leches variety of cakes in the refrigerated section were gorgeous. I plan to have these for my birthday next year. This bakery is amazing. The cakes are delicious! Alot of them are coated with white chocolate. We ordered a cake with a delicious light whipped frosting with raspberries. The inside of the cake is moist and delicious because they draw milk into the cake body. Makes for an amazingly moist and deli is cake! We also ordered the tres leches premaid.snacks in the cooler. Saw this bakery when I went to Dury's with my son. Didn't go in but went with him again today and went in this time. Oh my goodness! We just picked 6 or 7 items. Some of the things I knew what they were and some I just picked because they looked interesting. We paid (about 6 bucks for everything!) and left and tore into those bags in the parking lot. Yum!
