You absolutely must try the French crueler! Even before I knew I had celiac, I can't recall ever having a donut this delicious. As you can see - I have purchased quite a few. The staff is all very friendly. Make sure you check out their Instagram for what they are making that day. They also post when they sell out! (Not pictured, but their gluten free soft pretzels are also divine! One of my most missed foods) Worth every penny. Worth the drive if you live in Nashville proper.

And I knew from following them on Instagram, that they often sell out of items early. I was really hoping if be able to snag a crueller, however, I was too late. However, I did get some other delicious treats. The baguette was delightfully crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The apple friter-omg! I've not had one since going gluten free over 15 years ago. This was the best apple friter I've had. The guava pastry (cannot remember the proper name) was delicious as well. If you are planning a trip, do your best to arrive as early as possible. Prices were decent. The baker helped me woth questions, and was quite helpful, sorry I didnt catch their name.

The staff were patient and helpful as I asked questions and considered all my options. I had forgotten that they brew Nashville's own 8&R spresso!! Their 16oz drinks come with four shots - coffee lovers like me will appreciate the strength! Most of their syrups are Monin, I think maybe I saw 1 housemade. What really sets this place apart is the charming farmer's market-style vibe. Besides food, coffee and fresh-baked pastries, they offer their own delicious sourdough and focaccia loaves to go, and a very thoughtful selection of local items - like organic Amish eggs ($6/dozen - unreal price right now and I saw they reuse the cartons/place to return them - heartwarming), bone broths, small-batch sauces, and so much more. I loved spotting a whole shelf of Republic of Tea bags, sold individually so you can sample new flavors before committing to a full tin. You can tell everything is chosen with care both in quality and with a community focus. Franklin Bakehouse is one of those places that just makes you feel good the moment you walk in. It def helped to see and pet some pups too (I assume they are welcome as there were some inside when I arrived).

This is my review for the bakery:…read more I really wanted to support this small bakery, but my experience left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. When I first visited, the owner, Steve Bledsoe, asked where we were from. After I said California, he told an employee to give us the "California discount." When the total came out to $40 per pie, I was shocked and asked why the price was so high. I was given a long explanation about premium ingredients and homemade quality. Feeling awkward and wanting to support a family-owned business, I went ahead and bought four pies. The next day, when I came back to pick them up, I noticed on the register that another customer had been charged $25 per pie. That was a big red flag. To double-check, I later called the shop as a new customer and was told pies are $25. When I asked to speak with the owner, his answers were inconsistent and unconvincing. I'm extremely disappointed. especially in a local business that relies on community trust. I left feeling like I was charged more simply because the owner thought he could get away with it. I will not be returning, and I hope the business reconsiders how it handles pricing and customer interactions. On top of the dishonesty. The pies were not great. I could have supported Costco and bought larger pies that tasted just as good, if not, better.

Lacked taste. Wife had some noodle food which we didn't enjoy. My fried squid wasn't fried very well and didn't have much squid. The bread they gave was tasty though! People we know love the restaurant so perhaps it's just us. Went home that night and made a great noodle meal with De Cecco noodles and sea animals which wife and I ate till stuffed.

This was the email I sent: "Two friends and I had a 7:15 PM reservation at Culaccino on January 10. Our server was Lee. Things started out fine, but we found ourselves quickly being subjected to Lee's somewhat aggressive approach to service. He honestly was the least personable server I've ever experienced, and had a very condescending manner. A misunderstanding occurred on my friend's order. She was brought a dish with pork in it, which was not what she ordered. Mistakes happen, but Lee was not at ALL nice or accommodating about it, laying the blame on her, and bringing it up multiple times during our meal, with a snarky and resentful undertone. After we paid, he walked up, dropped our checks, and walked away without a word. It was the first time in my life I've ever been tempted to leave zero tip. My conscience for some reason would not allow me to follow through on this, but it was as undeserved as any gratuity I've ever left. We wanted dessert, but we ended up going elsewhere due to how we'd been treated. We also had no clue we would be charged $6 a person for water! Perhaps something that could be mentioned during the ordering process. I've honestly never had a more disappointing dining experience. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and had hoped to come back for a date night, but our experience left such a bad impression, I can't imagine spending additional money here. I'm not sure if other diners have had this experience with Lee, but we certainly did not feel welcome or valued as customers and felt it was important to make you aware." The food was fine, but most dishes needed salt- so basic. The lack of response from management, however, really says everything one needs to know about Culaccino. I'd truly recommend spending your dining dollars elsewhere.

I've never been a big fan of their donuts, but the winter donuts may have changed my mind. My favorites have been Sugar Cookie and Gingerbread Latte. I enjoyed the buttery, flaky layers. I also grabbed an iced sugar cookie and that was delicious. For drinks they offer coffees and a case with sparkling waters, juice, and canned coffee. I was already full from eating earlier, but once I laid my eyes on the many things offered, my eyes wanted everything even though my stomach said no. I got a cinnamon roll, and let's just say from the first bite to the last, it was truly the best I've ever had. Everything is absolutely worth it. I was honestly guilt-eating while enjoying it and just thinking, I love my life lol. The customer service was splendid, and the cleanliness stood out as well. Hearing Karina talk about her products and her story was amazing -- it showed that she truly knows her craft and has genuine passion for what she does, which made the experience even better. Karina is truly a magician and a master at her craft. They obviously serve more than cinnamon rolls too. She has a wide variety of items to offer, uses no seed oils (which is perfect since I'm allergic), and apparently even has gluten-free options. She also makes pretty much everything fresh and in-house. There's honestly so much I could write about this place. I think it says a lot that I'm not only planning to become a regular, but I even made my first Yelp account ever just to leave a review. Looking forward to seeing the continued success and growth of this place.
