Used to be called 54th Street Grill is now Five Four. I see a lot has changed, they have definitely upgraded and turned into nice sports bar with so much seating. I remember they used to have the best Baked Potato Soup and yes that still stands true, sooo rich and creamy and comforting. I also ordered the Lemon Pepper Wings and Red Sangria. Everything tasted great! Our service was great. My friend is a regular there and a few servers came over to talk. This place will be a definite go to next time I'm in town.

I've been to Five Four, as it's called now, a few times, and it's pretty consistenly great--but with some caveats. The food is very tasty, I'm never disappointed with the flavors. But when I'm trying to eat healthy, they fall short. Basically, when I'm ordering healthier-sounding options, like the brussels sprouts, they are super greasy... so it's kinda disappointing when you're trying to eat healthy and the food comes unnecessarily unhealth-ified., if that's a word. Brussel Sprouts don't need all that grease to be great! As far as prices, they do run on the high side, but they have a great, more affordable lunch menu which we always order from. The interior has been remodeled somewhat recently, I think. It seems more modern and nice. One thing to note - it does get pretty crowded around lunchtime, which is a good sign - people really like it here. But if you don't like crowds/noise, come early! The service here has always been good, and this time was no different. Our waiter was attentive and polite. I give Five Four 4 stars - mostly good, but a few things they could improve (actual healthy options and prices). :)

Foods amazing, service was amazing, just thought it was a little strange that the busser spits on the floor as he works, currently sitting here rn and saw that as he was walking

Our server was so helpful and efficient with taking out orders. The 2 for $40 deal is great with appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert is great! Newly decorated tables and walls give this restaurant a very different feel in a good way.

Got carry out here tonight. Order was correct was but was just ok. The salmon was overcooked and the Brussels sprouts were bitter and not tender. My chicken was pretty good but fairly chewy. My biscuit was very chewy and I did not enjoy the potatoes. Salads were both good. Portions pretty good. And price.

What a wonderful meal and overall experience! We went on a packed Friday night after joining the wait list for 1 hour. The service was great--our server was very personable and nice although clearly quite busy! The food was great too. Although this wasn't my favorite chicken fried steak (could use more seasoning on this and the gravy), I was glad I could chose both side and absolutely loved the brussel sprouts which came with goat cheese and craisins! This was the highlight of my meal. The Mac and cheese side had a great deal of crunch which I love, but could have used more cheese sauce in my opinion. The cheddar biscuit was alright, nothing special. Overall for $17 this was a huge and very good meal! The energy here was great--I would definitely come back!

Does anyone know if the recipe for the gringo dip changed? I bought some yesterday and it did not taste the same like it usually does.

Hi Cindy, we have not changed the Gringo Dip recipe. It is possible that something was incorrectly prepped. I will pass this along to the team at the Independence location so we can make sure it is being made correctly. If you would like someone to…

You know what's really good about this place? Their signature 'cup-sized' cocktails, like their…read morehouse margarita, the 'Sinner's Punch' (a house specialty), or maybe even their Long Islands. Plus, the happy hour prices are attractive and the 'portion sizes' for the drinks are more than ample. You know what else is good? The pricing. Happy hour prices aside, Saints-Independence is offering a price point that is a bit below market for their fare, and in these times, that alone can draw you in. But, ah, there's the rub. The food is pretty average, so it's a good thing that you likely aren't going to squabble over the bill. Bar & grille food isn't usually supposed to blow your hair back, but Saints has a lot of fried options that seem under-seasoned and slow to be delivered, sooo not exactly prime. The servers are friendly, but if they have to cover the patio and the bar/dining room, then it's not a surprise that things move slowly. It's a great spot to meet, given that it's just off of I-70, but join for a drink & maybe an appetizer, and my guess is that you'll come to the same conclusion: it's just...OK.

I walked into Saints Pub - Independence on Thanksgiving running purely on fumes and poor planning…read more My stomach was emptier than the highway that morning, and I was fully prepared to regret every decision that led me there. Luckily, Saints came through like a holiday hero. Even on a quiet Thanksgiving stop-in, the place felt welcoming and relaxed. The staff seemed to immediately understand that I was one hunger pang away from giving a heartfelt Oscar speech about food. Drinks arrived fast, perfectly chilled, and honestly felt like the first step in my emotional recovery. When the food hit the table, it was exactly what an empty-stomach wanderer dreams about--hot, hearty and flavorful. Every bite felt like someone whispering, "You're gonna make it, buddy." Whether it was the seasoning, the freshness, or my Thanksgiving-level starvation, everything tasted phenomenal. Saints Pub didn't just serve me a meal--they rescued me from a very dramatic holiday meltdown. If you ever find yourself hungry, tired, or simply in need of a good meal in Independence, Saints has your back.
