    Korean Steak Tacos
    Claudia S.

Brought some friends from out of town. Salmon dip was a good portion size & salmon heavy for sure. Pimento dip was good but extremely small portion and crackers seemed stale. I got a Cobb salad for lunch with grilled chicken (that I could've skipped on). Salad was a delight, lots of toppings and thick cut bacon was lovely. Guests enjoyed the Korean steak tacos, but definitely too small to be a meal. Chicken salad was fantastic. And the Mac and cheese was phenomenal. Would order mac again. S'mores desert made up for the misses. Overall, food was good, service was a bit lack luster, and a bit over priced.

After driving by this place for years, my husband and I got a chance to try this place out. We've been here twice and the first time was great, at least the service was good, accommodating and the waiter came and checked on us regularly. The second time the waiter didn't seem to pay attention to us well, and we had to flag him down for more drinks. The food on the other hand is very tasty. We haven't had anything that we didn't like from here. We had some roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower for an appetizer with this great spicy dip for an appetizer. We also ordered some shrimp tacos which were very tasty. The most impressive part for me was the menu and how many choices there were, very different from the typical restaurant menu with limited fan fare.

So we had some gift cards for 3rd Street Social and decided to go there last night. The restaurant was packed and the entire downtown area was buzzing with activity as it was a Saturday night. Our server was Adam who was very nice and attentive. He recommended the meatloaf dinner when I asked what was good. My wife got the chicken pot pie. The meatloaf came with mashed potatoes and gravy. There was a "smattering" of green peas, more of a garnish than a serving. My wife's dinner did not have any sides. Her pot pie was cooked and served in a cast iron skillet which not only kept it hot during the entire meal, but also by the time we got home, a 20 minute drive, it was still warm. The meatloaf was made with chorizo which gave it a little bit of a kick but was otherwise kind of bland in flavor. My wife's pot pie was very good and had chunks of chicken it it with veggies. This location in downtown Lees Summit is large and has a very nice ambiance not only inside but the entire area, which is full of restaurants and bars is pretty cool, yet still kind of has a small-town look and feel. So here's the rub. My plate was 22.00 and my wife's plate was 23.00. Oh yeah, got a glass of wine that was 10.00. So with tax and tip our meal was 70.00. So if you want to just go out to an area that is hopping, maybe go to hear one of the live bands playing (there was a good one playing outside at the bar just west of the restaurant), and have a nice atmosphere while eating, and especially if you are with a group of friends and food is secondary in importance, Third Street Social might appeal to you. If you're looking for outstanding food at a reasonable price, there are probably better choices in that area.

High and low top tables inside, seating outside on the patio is delightful in pleasant weather. Service staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming to guests. Happy Hour has all kinds of delicious food to choose from and great discounted prices. They are served in large sharing portions. Beautifully decorated on the inside and outside. Parking is a little difficult at busy times of the day that are common eating times. Plenty of choices for beverage choices both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Stopped by Third Street Social and tried their steak frites special with chimichurri. The flavors were solid -- the chimichurri added a nice, fresh, herby kick and paired well with the dish. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. That said, the steak itself was a bit chewy, which took away from what could have been a standout entrée. Overall, it was a decent experience with good flavor combinations, but I was hoping for a more tender cut of steak. Would still come back to try other menu items.

These tacos were SO GOOD. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my side of mashed potatoes the drink was very yummy and was very strong. The service was amazing, Alyssa was my server and she was so sweet! The ambiance was very nice and this would be a good place to meet with an old friend to catch up or a romantic date night. 10/10

I give the food a balancing act. Didn't want the normal chicken and waffles so I tried to create my own by ordering banana fosters French toast which was amazing but the fried chicken was tooth breakable. Hardy crunch as if it were cooked to slow and then sped up. By far not juicy and unpleasant to eat. The service was great although I think the server needed to understand how mimosas worked and that you can't pour juice from a spout-less cocktail glass into the wine glasses. Flavor of the champagne seemed cheap but this was a pretty good looking place to eat in. Gratuity for the locals to do their normal thing for a holiday was crazy but oh well. Nice setup and atmosphere, the ambiance was Just right for the occasion. Happy Father's Day fellas

Overall it was good and I would go again. Food was really good. The prime rib sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were also really yummy. My broccoli was over cooked. It was a bit expensive for the amount ($27 for a sandwich). Atmosphere was pleasant, clean, but to dark for my old eyes (lol). 2 person booth was pretty small. Service was fine. Nothing extraordinary but it was very good.

I ordered the fries and Korean Steak Tacos from the Happy Hour. The fries were crispy, had good flavor, and garlic aioli sauce paired perfectly with them. This was definitely the star of the show for me. The Korean Steak Taco was good. The steak was slightly juicy and it had good flavor. I also ordered a drink from the happy hour menu and it was also good. Overall, I would say this was a good experience and the service was good as well. I definitely plan on coming back here whenever I'm in the area.

Had a very negative experience years ago with raw wings the first time I went. Decided to try it again for the tacos and tequila Tuesday special. The special is definitely worth coming back for. I had the Korean steak tacos which were good, but I was wishing there was less slaw. It didn't seem to add anything but sogginess to the taco. Service was slow on our drinks but everything else was quite fast. We were a little confused by the "bar/lounge only" special, because lounge does not mean restaurant side. I'm thankful to have checked with our waiter to be reseated so the special would apply. It looks just like the sister concept, summit grill before they figured out how to turn on the light switch. I get low-light ambiance for restaurants, but bar side I would like to read the menu from other than 5 inches away. I didn't fully check out the lounge area, but the whole bar area was packed. All the nearby tables stayed longer than us, our table was flipped before the people who were there before we sat down.

Third Street social is a locally owned business and I give it a bonus bump for that reason alone. I really enjoy supporting and engaging with locally run businesses. I also find locally run restaurants provide a unique atmosphere and menu that it's a change from the national run restaurants. that is certainly the case with third Street social. The older historic building that the restaurants located in creates a great atmosphere and ambience from the moment you walk in it's a fun and lively vibe. You are always greeted with a smile and a person that makes you feel welcome. Whether you sit in the restaurant or sit in a bar your guaranteed fantastic service meeting here and eating as a couple and the bar is great but so is bringing a business client to the other for lunch or dinner. Props go to the ownership for pulling off such a great mix.

    Pork belly appetizer

I really wanted to like this place since we visit Lee's Summit all the time. We sat outside on a night that wasn't even busy, just wanting a quick bite to eat while we waited for the train to pass. Our waiter took our order and then completely vanished, he never came back out to check on us. After waiting 30 minutes just for appetizers, I went inside to check on the order. Having worked in the food industry, I know that nearly 30 minutes for three simple appetizers is crazy. I asked how much longer it would take and mentioned we'd just like to cancel and head out if it wasn't ready. Our waiter told us it would be ready soon, but he sounded annoyed that we even asked to cancel. As a former waitress, I'm pretty sure he just forgot to put the order in. I would have preferred the truth, though I know not everyone is open to hearing it. We finally got our food about six minutes later in to-go bags as requested. While everything was hot, the food itself was a disappointment. The pork belly was overdone and dry, the mac and cheese was clumpy, and by the time we made the 15-minute drive home, the fries were totally limp. I bet things would have tasted better if we could have eaten there, but we were just done waiting. Sit inside if you want better service.

Most of my orders have been curbside pickup since it's right around the corner from my house, and the process has always been quick and seamless. Let me tell you about the Great Salmon Caper Sandwich. A soft, pillowy brioche bun, flaky grilled salmon, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, topped with a creamy, tangy aioli. It is quite literally one of the best salmon sandwiches I've ever had. When I say I'll never get sick of this sandwich, I mean it. It's a genuine 10/10 and one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The Cluckers are also excellent and come with an absurd amount of food. My only complaint is that the chicken pieces can sometimes be so large that the chicken-to-breading ratio feels a little off. Other than that, they're fantastic. The breading is seasoned perfectly, the chicken is juicy, and the price is extremely affordable for the portion size. The homemade honey mustard is also some of the best I've ever had and is easily my favorite dipping sauce on the menu. Wally's is one of those places that never disappoints. Fast service, affordable prices, generous portions, and consistently great food make it an easy recommendation.
