Where do I begin. Spend a full day vending in the sun on Father's Day. My wife and I were excited to get out of DC well before 10pm. ...We managed to make it to Five Guys about 20 min before closing. We walk in with bated breath since few people enjoy last minute orders.   We were shocked that the young lady (black hair and glasses) already had a big smile and came over to the register as if Christmas came early. She took our order and read it back to ensure she captured everything correctly. She then said it was her first on the register. She didn't need assistance with anything, so I think she passed that test. I decide on getting a shake and I hear from the back "What flavor?"   I chose salted caramel, his quick reply was "with bacon". He proceeded to explain it's a great flavor enhancer (comical sales pitch). While I made the joke, I am coming back to get a refund on my tip, the shake was great. The other guy with black hair had a look like he has heard this pitch before about adding bacon and just laughed when I agreed.   The electric energy moments before closing was greatly appreciated and ended our long day with a big smile. Had an online order the other day when they were offering BOGO burgers. The staff was slammed and did a great job of controlling the atmosphere. They were so backed up from online orders, they had to stop taking in house orders. My food did take almost an hour to be ready, but they regularly checked with people for names and checked the tickets on the table. I don't think they were staffed for the volume of orders they were receiving, but that's no fault of the employees that were there. My food was hot, correct, and delicious. I probably won't come back when they are running a special, but wanted to leave a good review because the staff was on top of their game. read more

The french fries are no longer a bargain, and this has made all the difference. Combined with management's lack of interest in customer satisfaction, and this place just became below average. The burgers are still okay, but too expensive for what you get. That used to be okay, because this location has always made up for high burger prices by giving generous amounts of good fries...until now. Something changed in the past few weeks. We recently ordered a regular fry, and received what seemed like a small fry. I called to check if there was an error, and after talking with three different people (none of which were helpful), I was told the manager would call me back. The manager never called me back. On my way by the store the next day, I dropped in to ask about the order. The teenager cashier was very helpful and brought out the much smaller bags to show me what sizes are used for the fries (cups are no longer used). It was clear at that point the amount of fries had been reduced. Also, at no time during my visit did the manager present himself or herself to discuss the issue. They obviously could care less. It's unfortunate, because we've been going to this location for 15 years...not any more. You may be going okay now, but you are going to lose your loyal customer base with this approach. read more

I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago to get dinner for my wife and I. I get home and our burgers were not fixed as ordered. I called and Mgr said I could come and get a comp card the next day. Went to get the card and the Mgr did not leave any instructions fir the Mgr on duty to issue me the card. That Mgr gave me a regular gift card. Went to use that card because I had to use in the restaurant and Mgr wants to give me a lesson on the correct and incorrect comp card. I advise him I shouldn't be receiving a comp card in the future. Got my order and damn if that wasn't right. Had to have a burger fixed again. The Murrell brothers need to pay this location a visit, they are tarnishing the Five Guys brand. Will be trying another location going forward even if I have to drive further. You missed up my order when I came in using. Comp card because you messed up my previous order, SMH!!! Great Five Guys location with everything you have come to expect from their quality of food. Also, the manager and staff are great. My son loves to come here and spend time eating in the restaurant so that he can enjoy eating the peanuts as well. We will be back on Friday! read more

We went here for dinner after a while. There was no line, and we ordered pretty quickly. Inspite of me trying to pay for an extra bun, the cashier couldn't figure out a way to put it in the order, but later one of the employees was nice enough to give one to me when I went to take the food. I recently placed an order through Postmates, owned by Uber, and encountered multiple issues at your location. Six different drivers attempted to pick up my order, each of whom was turned away by an employee named Patrick. When I called the store to understand the situation, Patrick informed me that it was store policy not to release orders from Uber drivers if it's a Postmates order. He then added, "I don't know what to tell you; dont you have food in the fridge?" To add this Five Guys location didn't follow through with company policy in the end and let a "Uber" driver pick up the food. They also only let the Uber driver take the food after he PAID for the food. I already paid for it. This location took money twice for the same order. I was surprised and disappointed by this experience from this. As a paying customer, I feel that the handling of this situation was unprofessional. It's important to remember that satisfied customers are essential to any business's success. I would appreciate if this matter could be reviewed, as the experience was both frustrating and confusing. read more

I have had a horrid experience at this place, the staff was beyond rude, and there were a few people there, I was with my boss we both are Indians, and the staff was eavesdropping on our conversation, and poking fun at our expense, the staff had two people from Latin origin, and they were calling me gay and were cackling like a maniac every now and then, once they start doing this the rest of the customers also started laughing and targeting me. As a straight man, I was livid with this behavior from the staff which was bordering on hate crime and had racist connotations as well from their remarks. I had to calm myself down so that situation doesn't go out of hand. The staff member who was doing the most damage was Mexican had tattoos on his body and was wearing earrings in both ears. If my boss wasn't there I would have confronted him and might have even slapped him like a bitch the way he was acting up. I am never visiting Ashburn `Five Guys` locations ever again in my lifetime. -This franchise location cooked the burger patties to a crisp and dried out all the meat juices. -My significant other foodie (SOF) found a hair in her burger. +The kosher hot dog was delicious. +The regular fries portion was just right for the SOF and toddler. +The restaurant was pretty tidy and clean. Overall, the prices have significantly risen over the years and the quality has dropped. If I am going to pay high prices for a burger, I am probably better going to a gourmet burger establishment like The Melt in Leesburg. read more

After my disappointment with Habit Grill, I decided to order from the "standard," Five Guys. I realized I should have ordered from them from the getgo. I always get the cheeseburger (or the little cheeseburger; depends on my hunger) with Cajun fries (small). The burger was seasoned perfectly, with all of the toppings I like (as many or little as i want, as always). When I bit into it... ah, it was amazing. This Five Guys experience was super disappointing. Coming in, I expected good things, since it was pretty empty, the space was mostly clean, and free peanuts are always a win. However, when we started ordering, it was clear the employee was not happy to be there and was not at all friendly. After that, we ended up waiting 20 minutes for our order, despite being one of few people in the restaurant. When we finally got our food, I realized the cashier had charged us a regular hamburger instead of a little hamburger, but when I went to correct my order, the cashier was annoyed and not the least apologetic. I decided to take my L and just eat. I did at least enjoy the burger-- I like how Five Guys allows you to get unlimited free toppings, and my cheeseburger was great with grilled mushrooms, green peppers and lettuce. The meat was well-cooked and the bun wasn't soggy, although the cheese wasn't melted at all (as you can see in the photo). The fries were probably the best part of the meal, as we ordered a regular but got probably twice as much of a regular order (as you can see by the enormous pile of fries in the bag that were overflowing from the cup--sorry for the poor quality.) Five Guys ha: some of the best fries, and that mostly held up this trip, although they were a bit salty. The Oreo and coffee milkshake I got was good as well, no complaints. Overall, Five Guys is still good, and the meal I had here wasn't bad at all, but I definitely would not come back to this location because of the terrible service. read more

Took an out-of-town guest total five people to a medium priced restaurant. Not a chain but a nice restaurant if I had paid 20% tip it would've been $40 plus. I'm sorry no one bringing me a plate of food is worth $40!! It took practically an act of God to get the food ordered. No offering of assistance whatsoever. I work late one night a week and although I try to bring an afternoon snack with me for the long commute between jobs. Unfortunately, I sometimes don't and I'm coming home after 9pm and unless I stop at Wegmans, there's too few other places I can grab something to eat. Here's why Five Guys has become my saving grace. I'm usually low on blood sugar and starving by the time I reach their doors, so the inviting waft of peanuts (and peanut oil) help my empty stomach realize sustenance is on the way. The cashiers are always so nice. They are very good about repeating back your order and every ingredient to ensure they get it right. Everyone seems friendly, even though we know that closing time is at 10pm and these guys will need to get the place totally clean, including the grills and fryers before they can go home. Even though I'm a To Go order, I never feel rushed. I always order the little cheeseburger loaded with lots of toppings and a little fry. Last night, I went for the chocolate shake, too (nothing like a great combo of protein, fat, salt, and sugar to revitalize and boost serotonin). It was chocolately, nice and thick, which meant I got the right amount in those first several sips to get my sugar levels back to normal. My food came out with freshly fried fries-nice and piping hot for the quick ride home. So.damn.good. I went to bed feeling satiated and great. Five Guys is my favorite burger place, but this one is terrible. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks, and both times they messed up the order. First time I ordered 2 burgers with different toppings. Both burgers had some of the toppings ordered and some from the other burger. Second time they left the toppings off. Wouldn't be such a big deal if I was eating in, but my order was to go so I didn't find out they jacked it up again until I was home. I'm not sure if they hire people that can't read, they don't give a damn, or do it purposely. I will still eat at Five Guys, but definitely not this one. Started going to this location when I was on a different contract in that area near there. I will say the crew here always struck me as a group of no-nonsense and hardworking employees. They know me and sometimes when I go there and they are busy the man behind the counter will say "hey boss - how are you? you want the same as normal or you want to switch it up tonight?" When they are not busy it's a bit more relaxed. Yes - as per some of the other reviews - they don't always have smiles on their faces though [I don't think] it is not because they are unhappy as the way that they have always acted with me and other customers near me was above-and-beyond helpful. Hard to describe the vibe at this location though as with the other locations - they always get my order correct/they say "thank you" and even when I call the order in on the phone - it's no problem for them and it's correct. As far as wait times - may be best to call in to order and ask them when it will be ready. I usually go at night and what I've listed above has been my experience. read more

This place is Awesome! No matter when you go, the first thing you notice is that it is impeccably clean. There is plenty of seating and the peanuts while waiting is my family's favorite part, along with the nice high tech Coke machine. The burgers are consistently yummy and the fresh cut fries are greasy goodness. The condiment table is always fully stocked and keeps you busy while waiting. Waiting is the reason I deducted a star. It's way too long especially at peak hours. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. You get thru the ordering line super fast so I was thinking that they didn't have the capacity to cook what they needed. But then I looked in the kitchen and there was tons of room on the grill. I think this place could be perfect with a more experienced and efficient kitchen crew. But our order included a milk shake which never showed up. Secondly the driver left our food at the door and left without even bothering to knock to let us know the food was there. Yes, I know the whole social distancing but how are we to know our food was there? Food was outside on the ground for 10 minutes before i saw it! That driver was terrible! read more

We were visiting our family in Ashburn, VA and, against our own better sense, gave in to our grandson's suggestion that we eat lunch at the "Five Guys" on Waxpool Road. I generally prefer to not give a review, rather than give a poor one; but I shall this time give in to my better judgement and sum the visit by my wife, grandson, granddaughter, and me, in two words, "It Sucked." It was a Sunday and busy, but not insanely busy. One might describe it as being certainly "manageably busy," if there was at least a small degree of management in place. Our order was somehow gotten wrong by the service people, who forgot to include French fried potatoes with our hamburgers. Well, at least we were not charged for them. We then went up to the counter and explained our French fries were omitted from the order. We paid for them and waited. And waited. And waited. This entire process was compounded by the insane system Five Guys has in their stores of shouting out the number for your order. It doesn't work when there is a combination of ESL serving staff and a lot of customer noise. We finally made out the number for our French fried potatoes, but by then we had all finished our hamburgers; which were tolerable, but far from the best I've had. Less than a good impression, but not the first time for my wife and I. We have only had one good experience at a Five Guys, somewhere between Orlando and our home in Southwest Florida. The rest have ranged from awful to walking out of the Five Guys in Port Charlotte, Florida, after waiting 20 minutes behind one other customer for someone to take our order. I think we have exhausted our capacity to give Five Guys another try. There are too many other options. read more

Let me just give a fair warning to all those who are health conscious people, that if you are afraid of consuming anything less than a minimum of about 1000+ calories and a pretty sizable amount of sodium and some grease then I wouldn't suggest a place like Five Guys to you. I understand that this place isn't the healthiest, thus the reason my wife and I only treat ourselves every once in a while. My wife and I on the other hand are absolutely fans of Five Guys and we absolutely enjoy this place. Not only are the burgers decently sized and tasty but they are also very generous with their fry portions (they aren't like other fast food chains, which initially does a very generous first scoop but then shakes the scooper about three or four times and then puts what's left in your fry container). Well you don't have to worry about that sort of thing at a place like Five Guys, because not only do they feel your fry container up with fries but whatever is leftover they dump in your bag (Healthy: Absolutely Not, Do I Care: Absolutely Not).....LOL. In addition to all this, you have the option of helping yourself to endless supply of free peanuts while you wait for your order or to make it an addition to your meal (hopefully you're not allergic to peanuts otherwise this wouldn't help to sway you :(). All I can say is that I'm a fan, and I do understand that this place isn't the healthiest. Thus, the reason I wouldn't recommend a person to come here to eat everyday, but whenever you are in the mood for a good burger and a plethora of fries well my friends, this place may need to be your next stop. read more

Ugh. I think I gained 5lbs just writing this review. 5 Guys is gross, you guys. It really is. If you need confirmation of that, just look up their nutritional information. But sometimes you're just really Jonesing for a bad nutritional decision, you know? And when you are, and that craving involves french fries (because you're an American, darn it!), 5 Guys is a pretty tasty place to undo 3 weeks worth of daily gym visits. Burgers are made to order. If you order a regular, it has two patties. The french fry portions are... obscene. Michelle Obama is probably trying to make them illegal right now. (And she'd have a point.) The list of topping is pretty awesome. The peanuts-while-you-wait schtick is cute and I love how there's finally a place not losing its head about peanut allergies in the AIR. Always a line, but always quick-moving. The burgers taste terrific and the fries are awesome and plentiful. One quite-not-nice review mentions a rotten flavor and dry meat. Hmm, really? Seems a bit overly harsh. I've been to Five Guys all over the country and this one is no different than the others, and they've all been equally good. The quality control seems terrific and, compared to the standard drive-through burger places, Five Guys knocks it out of the park, every time. And don't get me started on the free peanuts! This location is always clean, the employees are courteous and seem to be very hard-working. Definitely order ahead to avoid the lunch rush wait. This particular place was pretty disappointing. A soda would help cover the gluey-ness of the grease. The fries weren't really crispy, and had a mushy internal texture, barely saved by cajun seasoning. Burger got soggy pretty quickly as well. If only they hadn't taken away the other nearby burger fix! This and Moe's seem to be the last surviving businesses in this plaza. Gold Peak iced teas are too endearing. read more
