Wife and I visited Lucky Dog on 8/3/2023. We had wings and fries as an appetizer. Wings were nice and crispy, sauces were very tasty. We had BBQ and Sweet Chili on the side. Chicken was nice and crispy but lacked seasoning, desperately needed salt. Fries were average and lacked salt. Wife had the Lucky Dog classic. Dog came with mustard, onions, and sourkraut. She opted without mustard. Sourkraut was average. I had 2 chili dogs and a Chicago dog. The chili dogs came with chili, mustard, onions. The chili dogs were very good. The chili itself was decent. The Chicago dog came with mustard, onions, tomato, relish, and a dill pickle on a poppy seed bun. This is a great Chicago dog. I loved it. All the hot dog buns were nicely toasted. The service was great. The server brought our food to the table. I am torn between giving 3 or 4 stars. I would give 3 1/2 if that was an option, but due to some of the lack of seasoning and averageness of some of the meal, I am sticking with a 3. read more

Get the Chicago dog - this place does not cheap out on the toppings. Sport pepper, really good pickles, and not shy about the celery salt. I scarfed it down so fast I didn't get a photo. We also got lumpia - shrimp and beef. The shrimp is superior, definitely get that. These are thiccccc lumpia and fried perfectly. I do wish they had vinegar/garlic/chili sauce to dip in instead of the sweet chili sauce (it's a personal preference, lumpia is usually served with sweet chili sauce.) read more

My family and I really enjoyed our Meals at Lucky dog today. We ordered the New Yorker the Chicago the classic and a side of french fries. Our food came out very hot and delicious. The restaurant as well as the restrooms were very clean and tidy as well. I'm so happy that lucky dog is now in the neighborhood they've been here for about six months and I will definitely be back and become a regular. Terrible experience. Two Women behind the counter talking, we ordered 3 hotdogs an two milkshakes. We didn't receive our milkshakes till 25 minutes after our hotdogs. No customers before or after made a order in that time period, they did everything but make the milkshakes, I had my 11 year old about halfway ask nicely when the milk shakes would be ready and they barely acknowledged him and still didn't make the milkshakes. When the milkshakes finally arrived I went to the front to pick them up and the woman behind the counter gave me a ridiculous smirk. I work in the service industry and I would absolutely never treat anyone the way I was. The order was over 56 dollars for three hotdogs you could make better at home and two soupy in consistency milkshakes served in a Costco disposable cup. Great location! Nice to have a decent hot dog place in Leesburg again, but I was disappointed in some of the execution and end product in ways that should not happen in a $7 or $9 dog. The place is tucked into a hipster brewery setting in the shopping center with the movie theater just south of art 7 in Leesburg. Parking is adequate (garage nearby). The signage is somewhat difficult to see driving past, as parked cars sometimes obscure the sign. She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO) and I decided to give it a whirl because we were Vienna Beef-deprived and needed a fix. We went there about 4 pm on a Wednesday night. The space is large and shared with several restaurants- you basically grab somewhere to sit and get what you like to eat. Lucky Dogs offers several different kinds of dog, plus some other food items as entrees. We chose a Classic, a Chicago, and a DC half smoke. The hot dogs are produced in Chicago by the legendary Vienna Beef, home to the essential ingredients for the good hot dogs. They were well cooked, and served on the correct poppyseed rolls as meant to be. The sausage was on a potato roll with various goodies piled on. The classic was fine, but two things stood out with the other two: the rolls were either overtoasted or had been sitting too long under a warmer, and there was not enough fixings added to really give the desired effect. There were hard spots in the rolls that should not have been in a Chicago hot dog, or a chili sausage. There was insufficient mustard and neon relish on the Chicago, and the celery salt necessary for a proper Chicago dog was completely absent. This is Virginia so they may not be aware of the One True Way for making Chicago dogs, but they should be able to look it up and correct it. The half smoke sausage had almost no chili ( less than a tablespoon max) or mustard and was pretty much flavorless. The classic needed more kraut and mustard - it seemed like they were trying to limit the amount of toppings. Dogs were overall good - tough to totally screw up with good base ingredients - but really needed a heavier hand with the toppings to pull it over the top. Price for 3 dogs and two cans of soda was about $25 - on the higher side for what we got. Space was VERY LOUD - music really needed to be lower. I liked it, but it was ultimately disappointing because of the lack of toppings. Will probably try again, but ask for more goodies next time. read more

Came for the Korean corn dogs. Fifteen minutes after ordering, a guy came over and said the kitchen told him that our ordered items were unavailable. Alternate choices came 15 minutes later. The cheese in the mozzarella dog was uncooked. The dog side was tasty. The fries were salty. Later, ordered a milkshake and opted for mystery macaron topping. When the shake came 15 minutes later, no macaron. I truly believe this place will be great once staffing is increased/improved so to speed up the terribly slow service. Art Solonga has the genuine article and served up a real Chicago style dog. My buddy had never had one before and loved it too. My only complaint is that Leesburg is so far from Arlington.
