After helping a friend move on Saturday, I stopped in mid-afternoon for linner (or dunch). Hadn't eaten since early morning, and was in the mood for a burger and fries. What better place than a nearby Five Guys. Notwithstanding the negative reviews, mostly about poor service and long wait times, I was in and out (no pun intended on one of their competitors) quickly. Their fries are excellent! Always fresh and hot. Tip - a small order is more than enough for two people. Their burgers are not premade and sitting under a heat lamp. They are made to order with a choice of about a dozen free toppings. I chose jalapeno peppers and grilled mushrooms. My burger was very tasty (w a nice kick, I might add). The Chicopee location seems to be the best around. Not sure why but the food is consistently good. I suggest getting the "Little Hamburger" with one patty and limiting the toppings to just a few. Two of us had the little cheeseburger (one patty and the other had the two patty cheeseburger and we all split a regular order of fries. The fries were plentiful and really hot and fresh (5 stars). The burgers were good but just wish there was a selection of cheese other than American cheese. It was about 7:00 on a Saturday night and the food came out rather quickly. FIVE GUYS RUINED MY BIRTHDAY. We tried to order 4 burgers and a large french fry from here on my birthday at around 7:30pm. They took our order and 10 minutes later every worker on shift left the kitchen with one poor girl coming on shift trying to figure out what orders were still left etc. No communication whatsoever from the people who left. After 30 minutes of waiting, I went up to the counter to ask where our order was and she said she was making fries. Because it took so long to get our food we couldn't go to the place were supposed to afterwards to get ice cream to celebrate. And the food was cold. We love Five Guys. So with everything being to go or curbside pick up we ordered curbside. It was a huge disappointment! As a big fan of Five Guys, who up until now has eaten in the one in W.Springfield and who has eaten in the new one several time for me, I give it about a 3.5 on a scale from 1-5. The reason so far for not giving a higher rating is that last time I went the fries were way overcooked if not burned. Worst experience I ever had at a Five Guys. I ordered online thinking I wouldn't have to wait long once I got there. I only ordered one burger and no fries. The website said it would be ready in less than 10 minutes. I got there 15 minutes after ordering and still had to wait another 15 minutes. They weren't even busy. They had more employees than customers but they just mope around and don't care. I got home to find they didn't even add any bbq sauce after I asked for extra. The beef was dry. whoever the guy that was working at 7pm on tuesday november 24, 2020 was deserves a raise. very polite, made sure we had everything we needed. greeted us the second we stepped foot in the restaurant. food was perfect. burger perfectly crafted with the perfect amount of everything. cajun fries were out of this world. again the perfect amount for two people. salted caramel milkshake, no complaints. 10/10. also to mention that he gave us the PERFECT amount of napkins. not too many, not too much. used every single one. i didn't happen to pick up the guys name but he was the best. must of worked at chick-fil-a super polite. read more
