Overall experience is that they are overpriced for the quality of the burger. The service was great and the gentleman that took our order was very attentive to ensure he capture everything correctly. I had the mini bacon burger and added mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes. The burger was soggy and the bread was not holding up with the burger. The burger was just ok, the bacon was not crispy. The fries were nice and crispy and there were plenty of fries for a regular size. The average price for a meal is about $24 if you a small burger (not the regular burger), regular fries and a drink. They also have peanuts you can have while you wait for your order, they are self service.

had a great experience very clean inside and the young men have a way of getting everything done step by step. cleaning, putting on the toppings and cooking. burgers came out very good. fries were okay seemed very oiled though. the soda machine doesn't have like the right taste in the sodas.

This is the guy cooking the burgers, note the hair is over the grill.

2 Bacon Cheeseburgers, an order of Cajun Fries, and a Bacon Cheese Dog

This is definitely one of the better Five Guys establishments that I have been to. I'll start off the negative, the only reason I'm dinging it a star is because of the price. 7.19 for a Bacon Cheese Dog is pretty high in my opinion, for most of us Chicagoans we're use to hot dogs that are in the range of 2.50 - 5.00 bucks for hot dogs at other places. Again just dinging it for price when it comes to taste that split dog grilled with that cheese and crispy bacon was fantastic. The french fries I don't know what the craze is about them, I got the cajun version, thought they were good but nothing I'd hype about, my brother seemed to like it a lot. Now when it comes to the burger. My brother and I both got Bacon Cheeseburgers with various different toppings. He got his with Jalapenos, onions, mayo, and mustard. I got mine with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, mayo and a1 steak sauce. Both burgers were phenomenal but I just don't see myself spending almost 10 bucks on a burger (9.69) without it including fries when at sit down places I've spent that much and it typically includes fries or something else. I'd still come back and treat myself another time or two within the year but don't see it as a burger place I'd visit often just because the price. Customer service, now I had to end it off at this. The employees that were working on 9/31/2019 were off the chain!!!! Tons of energy and overall just brought a good vibe to the atmosphere. Sign me up to hang out with them at a party sometime!!!! Lol but in all seriousness, super amazing staff that made the overall experience so much better. There's a reason I'm still giving this place 4 stars, if you don't mind the price, definitely give these guys a try at least once!!!!

My husband and I had never been to a Five Guys and after hearing a lot of good things about it we decided to check this location out. We arrived fairly late in the evening and a few employees were already starting the evening cleaning tasks but the counter employee was welcoming and friendly. He easily answered the questions we had about the menu. We grabbed a table on the small patio outside. Our food was ready very quickly and everything was to our order. The food was good and I do think it is a little better tasting and quality than a regular fast food restaurant. The burger was loaded with toppings and it was messy but I think that is the point at Five Guys. But I just didn't love the food. I would go again if I am craving a fast food burger.

This location is hit or miss. Love their good fries, but their burgers are just okay. And it's too expensive.

I did not use any ketchup for the burger because it was very well seasoned and juicy. Tater bombs These were a tarot tot on steroids. It came with what looked like a some sort of ketchup/mayo concoction. Basically a fried loaded potato is a shape of a big beefy tater tot. It had bits of bacon and cheese in it. But I'll try to stay focused on this visit. Stopped for a drink and maybe some eats. Got a good gin and tonic and decided on an order of fries. The service was good this time, and that depends highly on who's behind the bar.if you are sitting there, which I was. The fries were excellent actually and I took half home, while still eating a large portion. The only thing I will say is the order had lots of tiny bits, really tiny bits of baby fries not big enough to be counted, never reaching their full fry potential. Lol. Just fillers or maybe they just put the potatoes through a cutter and toss the whole thing in?? Later I ordered the little app bites of veggies and hummus or ranch. Pretty straightforward and good but I found it odd that it had two little peppers stuffed in there whole.? Was I supposed to munch around the edges avoiding all the seeds? Just odd. Seemed like someone got tired of chopping. Anyway all was good. Certainly nothing to stop me from recommending or going again, just once in a while wonder about some smaller things you'll find.

The Cottage is one of the long time favorites for locals. A lot of great drinks and unexpectedly great food. You can find meaty and vegetarian options including burgers, fish, and pizza. Basically we weren't expecting much from this bar. It's mostly like a sports bar, cluttered inside. The food was to be an afterthought, we thought. Actually looks like a cottage inside. Lots of wood fixtures and paneling. It's about $12 for cocktails. Seasonal ones include margaritas for summer, toddys for winter. It's about $18 for a pizza. We got the Veggie Pizza, which has green peppers, mushrooms, onions, spinach, and tomatoes. Also there's Mexican options including burrito bowls and fajitas. There's even vegan chorizo as a topping. Great options in this bar that's better than typical bar food. It's got a rotating menu with lots of things added for the season. This is located on Crystal Lake Avenue at Walkup.
